The facilities also appeared to be under construction and the customer service wasn't great. More importantly, the ceilings in some sections are low enough to damage personal equipment. My friend hit an unprotected metal bar along the ceiling during his follow through and damaged his driver. He is an experienced golfer who has been playing for over 17 years and has never encountered a problem with unsafe facilities until now. I did not expect the facilities to not be safe enough for its intended purpose - Golfing. If we had known this going in, we never would have wasted our time and money. In addition to losing the driver, management not only refused to comp the game, but will not compensate us for the damaged driver or take any responsibility for what had occurred. In fact, they did not even contact us following the incident, we had to reach out after several days. This incident happened as a direct result of their inability to consider a person's golf swing within their facility. For any serious golfers: I DO NOT recommend this place. DO NOT risk damaging your personal equipment. It's worth the drive to support better management and safer facilities.

If you want professional coaches who are skilled, good with kids and genuinely make your kid feel good, take your business elsewhere.

The owner wasn't there but an older man who lives in a house on the property let us know where to leave our green fee ($5, we left $10 for both of us) and get a scorecard. He even walked us to the first tee. The course itself is nice, very green, well maintained. The baskets could be better marked though, some were hard to find. The longest hole is 750 feet and let me tell you, it was epic. There was no one there when we went so we had the course to ourselves, which was nice. I could see it getting very cramped if there were more than 2 or 3 games going on at once. Finally there were scary hawk birds (picture!) and death mosquitoes that became imposing by hole 12, which became a deciding factor in our decision to call it quits after about 2 hours of playing.

We showed up and no one was at the booth, but we heard voices on the course and figured they could tell us how this worked. We were directed to were we could borrow discs from and off we went. Took us a little bit to figure out how to throw the disc, but we soon caught on. My son (9yrs old) and I had such a fun time that after we played 18 holes we grabbed something for dinner and returned with friends for yet another 18 holes. I should mention that when we finished the first 18 holes the owners were at the booth with an assortment of discs both new and used. My son and I both got a set of discs. We figured we'd both start off with a Driver and Putter. My son and I plan on becoming regulars at this course and we plan on introducing many of our friends to this sport. Fantastic activity and everyone we met on the course were so friendly and helpful to us. I certainly hope that all Disc Courses are like this. If not, we certainly found a gem at Boom Field. We were not made to feel welcome as we entered the 2nd week. The teacher made no effort to get down on their level, encourage, or speak to them, yet told me the class was too big so I had to go wait outside, which made them both cry and follow me out. So we wasted a bunch of money on a very disappointing experience. If your child is special needs or shy look elsewhere because there isn't any support, which is shocking for a 3 & 4 year old class.

Melissa Willey, the owner and one of the teachers, is amazing. Not only is she a very skilled dancer, but she is a fabulous teacher. Her attitude is consistently positive and upbeat, even when a student is struggling to learn a new move, or when students act up a bit. She greets every student by name, and fosters a supportive, loving environment in the studio. We've been impressed by all of the teachers - they clearly enjoy dance, and they are dedicated to conveying their love of the art to their students. Even though we have moved twice since our daughter started at Scarborough Dance, she REFUSES to even consider going to a different dance studio!

Booking was easy and Ed was professional, prompt, patient and knowledgeable. Meeting the boat at Bug Light was incredibly convenient with ample parking and without the hassle of downtown Portland. We took a brief tour of Casco Bay, complete with sunbathing seals, before hauling multiple lobster traps. Ed's humor and passion for teaching about all things nautical made for a truly enjoyable afternoon.

Ed Snell was an outstanding boat host! We were supposed to do Whale Watching, but the weather did…read morenot allow for that. Ed recommended that we go fishing and checking his lobster traps, and it was a wonderful day. We got caught in a major rain storm but he kept us totally safe, and he was very entertaining the whole way through. Ed had a great sense of humor, knew the harbor like the back of his hand, and answered all of our questions with diligence. 100% would recommend this outstanding experience 10/10!

A newer disc golf to the Cumberland area. Bittersweet ridge disc golf at Harmony Hall is a…read moremouthful. It is located on the Yarmouth/gray line and can also turn into a BYOB dance hall. They have a great 18 hole course but word to the wise this is not a great course for newer players. If you have tossed the disc a few times this course should fall into a medium difficulty. The great thing about this course is the owners are trying to have a fun, clean course that involves a few different tricks instead of the typical "can you huck it far" approach. Six dollars to play all day, bring your bug spray, a bottle of water and a six pack to share with your friends. And don't forget your discs!

Expect a day trip for 2 to be over $100 for tickets alone. Food and drink in the park is pricey, like you would expect for an amusement park. The great thing about Funtown is that you are fully able to bring in your own food. My family opted for the annual season pass, as we come multiple times a season. If you plan to attend more than once, I highly recommend going the pass route. It pays for itself after 2-3 trips. Does it need updating? Sure, but honestly, it's part of the charm. Go forth and have a good time!

My family and I had a good ol' time at Funtown Splashtown USA when visiting Maine this summer…read more We've never visited this park, and now that our kiddos are taller and can ride all the rides, we thought we would give it a try. We went on a Wednesday at the end of June and it was not crowded at all. My kids had a blast! Right when the park opened we headed to Excalibur and rode it about 4 times to start off the morning. Everyone was so excited to ride it that many times. It's a wooden roller coaster that is a lot of fun. I highly recommend it. We hit all the Funtown rides multiple times. They loved the bumper cars, the vintage car track, the wild mouse, thunder falls log flume (which gets a little bumpy, but it cools you down on that drop), Atmosphere (which is an indoor Sizzler type ride with music and animations, that is the weirdest thing I think I've even seen in my life), and especially Whispering Pines Haunted Hotel. That last one is a dark ride where you have to save people from ghosts. You get a laser type gun to shoot at the targets and keep your score. I'm not sure how accurate they really were, but it was fun none the less. After a pretty "meh" lunch, we headed to the Splashtown area. They have a few water slides, a pool for the kids to swim in, and a little splash pad. The water slides were fun, until I bonked my head goind down Amphitrite's Challenge. You go down head first on a mat and for some reason on one of the turns my head didn't follow along. It hurt pretty bad, and I had one of the EMT's on staff help me out. He was very very nice and gave me an ice pack. I appreciated his kindness as I felt so silly after the event. Overall, we had a fun day exploring Funtown Splashtown USA. If you are looking for something to entertain the kiddos for the day, this is definitely a nice option.
