On Feb 14, 2025 I entered into this post office and purchased two gift cards, their priority envelope and postage. The lady behind the counter, Emima, seemed to be very kind and helpful. Well shocker, my envelope never arrived at its destination. The last scan is still in Aurora at this post office. I was informed the post office will only cover up to $15 for each gift card even though they sell them at a predetermined amount. This type of action seems to cultivate thieves. Never will I go to this post office again since they are thieves behind the counter and their customer service seems to be fraudulent. So if you go to this post office, make sure you do not purchase a gift card and do not let Emima help you. She will steal your package. This should be a NEGATIVE "1". The Indian woman and man work very hard, otherwise the customer service is terrible here. One person working the counter in a post office in the 2nd largest city in Illinois. Line out the door, with 25+ people standing in line for 45 minutes or longer. The USPS needs to hire new management, get rid of some of these people that are lazy and sitting in the office behind the counter giggling and laughing while there are multiple people standing in line. If this was a legitimate business, it would go out of business. The only reason that this place is not under more scrutiny is because half the people that are customers don't speak english and the other 1/4 don't want to take the extra time to write a complaint. One of the worst locations. Full of frustrated , arrogant , illiterate , misbehaving staffs. Government should put some cameras over there and record their activities. Avoid this place if possible. EXTREMELY RUDE STAFF. don't know how to mind their business and always making rude comments and remarks about ANYTHING. they take FOREVER with simple transactions. one day the line was LITERALLY OUT THE DOOR! on one instance, i came in with a package with prepaid shipping and a QR code to scan. i didnt have an envelope ready, so i chose one of the medium brown envelopes from their selection to ship out my item. one of the ladies behind the counter told me that i "cant ship my item in that packaging." the packaging that the post office provides.....?! I would give this post office zero stars if I could. I get the wrong mail in my box, I mark it return to sender, it winds up back in my box. Everytime I go there, the majority if their front row parking is taken up by their employees , even though they have a huge parking lot for employee parking. I watch elderly people have to walk further in snow & rain and shitty weather because little miss Susie q employee wants front row parking. Their sign says po boxes are delivered by 10am, very rarely is the mail there before 11. I do business with a company in Aurora. They mailed me a large box filled with items for my customers on July 24. According to the tracking number it never left the post office and has now been sitting there for over a week. No one answers the phone. I live in another state so it's not like I can drive over there and retrieve it. Frustrating to say the least. The update to this story, it took almost three weeks to receive my box. Inexcusable. Made an appointment for a passport photo at 11:45 am. Went in and the person in the passport office told me to check in at counter where all of the other usps customers were. So I waited in line and then the person just told me to have a seat in a chair by the passport office and someone would call me. She didn't take my name or any other info and didn't check me in or anything and just moved to the next customer. This didn't make any sense to me since I was already told to check in at the counter by someone in the office I was waiting next to, but I waited for 30 minutes and then gave up and went to Walgreens. It was apparent to me that she was just going to make me wait there until I bothered someone else. Each appointment is for a 5 minute window so clearly something is wrong here. read more

I used to live in Aurora but moved to another part of the state, only about an hour away. According to the IRS Stimulus Check tracking site, and why THEY don't have my correct address, even though the Post Office, Social Security and the state have it I'll NEVER know, they sent my check to my OLD address on or around January 6! Allowing 3 days for normal delivery and another 3 days to forward it to the proper address, it should have been here January 12! It is now January 20! I have tried calling Aurora and can NEVER get an answer and I'm currently waiting for a callback in an hour, and I had to make a I haven't received my mail complaint in order to get that from the national number. read more

USPS in general has a bad reputation, but for the most part, I've never had issues with the location near my home. I was working in the aurora area and needed to mail out a package that already had a prepaid label. I wait in line for 25mins for the one agent behind the counter. One I hand her my package and ask for a receipt that it was scanned in, she proceeds to tell me she's not going to scan it. She claimed it was in the wrong type of box. I ship enough packages to know the type of box I should be using. I questioned her, so she insisted on bringing her manager over so she can explain it better for me. Here is the funny part... in front of me, she's telling the manager what she needs to say to me. I laughed. Literally laughed out loud. Once I asked her why she's telling her supervisor what to tell me, she explained that she's new and doesn't know the rules yet. The manager then asked me if I paid for he label. Yes. And if the package gets denied if I'm aware that it will be coming back to me. Yes. She then proceeded to tell the employee to just scan the package for me. The employee told her she refuses to scan it, because she knows it's the wrong packaging. One of the most ridiculous situations I've ever been in. I decided not to waste my own time, and just take my package to another facility. Magically, no one else had a problem with my package. read more

My return iPhone was mistakenly place in a local mail box as opposed to UPS. The Aurora Post Office continually told me it would be forwarded to UPS because things like this always happen. This was untrue, my iPhone was never forwarded and now it is either lost or stolen by a Aurora Post Office employee!! This is the worst post office I have ever encountered. At least once a week, almost every week, I get my neighbors mail by mistake. Putting mail on hold is a crap shoot - sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Come back from a trip or vacation and you may find your mailbox stuffed with mail, even though you put it on hold. Window service is also poor. Walk in to mail a package and you will likely have to get in line for 10 minutes or more. Often times only one person is working the counter, resulting in 5 or more people standing in line. Meanwhile 2 other employees are wandering around behind the counter doing only God knows what. And, don't try to call them, sometimes they never pick up the phone and your call is canceled. read more

Not only do I routinely get mail for people who don't even live in my same neighborhood, but it's also pretty obvious that you employ a bunch of thieves. I mailed a birthday card with a Target gift card to my mother in Los Angeles. Her Birthday is 9/18, I mailed it on 9/12 and its currently 9/21. Judging by other reviews, you've obviously taken the gift card for yourselves and not delivered my card. In case you're wondering, THIS is why people use UPS/FedEx and why you lose revenue every year despite ever increasing prices. My sister mailed something to the same California address from Sycamore on the same day that I did and it arrived on 9/15. It's a 4 hour flight from ORD to LAX, it doesn't take a week. I'm so glad that I paid $5 for a birthday card, paid extra for postage and went to the trouble of mailing my card from the Post Office just for it to get stolen. Why are Aurora taxes so high again? Literally all of our services suck. On top of that, every time I go inside of this building, the lines are long, the forms you need are always out of place and the employees take their sweet time. Very disappointed in my carrier! More often then not my carrier will not pick up my out going mail, let alone just do her job and deliver my mail! I went on vacation and filled out the proper paperwork for when she should resume my mail. All the neighbors received there mail except me.. I tried calling post office and no one will ever pick up. Where are the supervisors? For twelve years I was a carrier in Naperville. The customer service has really gone down. Carriers need to be thankful they have a job and paid the money they get with out a degree! If it was up to me the more complaints those carriers would be sitting in the unemployment line. Give people who can't find a job a chance, I bet they would be more appreciative then several of our carriers out there today!!! read more

This post office was okay the day I visited, relatively friendly service w/limited wait times. My only real beef with it is that it is the main branch yet doesn't have an automated machine option there (I'm from Chicago where my local office had one, so I guess I'm a bit spoiled.But then again I was lucky enough to be w/in walking distance of that one, but I pity the fool who had to attempt street parking there!?!) It would make sending out small packages soooooooo much more conveniant.Imho. I don't come to this post office very often, as I live and work closer to the very convenient post office off of Commons near the mall, but I've come three times in the past year--though one of those times was actually to apply for a visa. I guess I have to attribute it to luck or timing, but every time I've gone there's been no--or virtually no--line, and the people working have always been polite and even friendly. The way the reviews depict this post office is the way I would depict the post office I normally use, though in fairness I've never had a bad experience there either. I already knew what I needed to have and had the paperwork already filled out, and if you're coming here to apply for a visa I suggest that you do to. Go online first and get all the details and forms you need, then go to a Walgreens or something and get a passport photo, and THEN come here. I don't remember what the fee was, but I also chose to have the application expedited so it was far more than normal. They accept credit or debit cards, but if you want to pay with cash you have to go get in line, if there is one, and purchase a money order (I decided to just pay with a card). I had no idea what applying for a visa would be like, but it was a lot easier than I would have thought; I was the only one there so I was in and out in fifteen minutes. Overall I prefer this post office to my usual one, but a post office is a post office in a lot of ways, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend that people go out of there way to come here, but if you're going to be near and you have mailing needs then try your luck here and maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised. First time here & blown away from the friendly, efficient & professional service. I was expecting a long lines & basic post office customer service but these people treated me as if we were in a small town. I missed a delivery requiring a signature and although not officially back at the post office they took the time to locate it! Found it! Gave it to me with a smile. Can't get better than this. Plus their lot was ice free & parking less than 30 feet from the entrance. By the way commuters, it's adjacent to the train station. read more

Wow. Floored by how rude the employees are here. I have worked in customer service for many years in my life, so I am always kind to others who work customer service, as I know it can be a tough job. Yesterday I went into my apartment building to get my mail and I checked the box near my mailbox in my lobby to look for a package. I saw a letter, addressed to me, that was a "final notice" regarding my Health Savings Account! Hmmm, I never got a first notice. I see multiple items in that area left around for other people. I'm incensed, I have filed a formal complaint with the USPS Inspectorate! It is obvious that they need to clean house and start over. I have had multiple problems and have gotten attitude and at one time when I expressed my displeasure they have threatened to call the police. This has to be the most unprofessional postal service we have ever had ! for example, again today I seen the mail lady drive in and left 5 minutes later. We live in an area we're there are over one hundred post boxes, and there is no possible way she could have delivered everyone's mail in that amount of time. And this has happened on more then one occasion, it's almost as if she just picks up outgoing mail. oh but wait this isn't the first time. She managed to loose the key to all of the postal boxes and it took them several days to fix the problem, and instead of holding people's mail at the post office she leaves people's mail with the main office. I'm sorry but our office attendant is not a mailman. I must say her leaving peoples mail with someone has to be even more unprofessional, and unsettling that she handles mail and takes such little concern! oh we tried to call the post master general but we were unable to get into contact with that person, hopefully this will help . She also can't seem to get all your mail in the correct postal box and constantly someone returns our mail to the office because it finds its way into another postal box.and when the office talked to her about these issues she chooses to argue with the office attendant. we also have seen her being so disrespectful to the office attendant she was yelling at her one day to a point were I wanted to ask were she gets off talking to a customer in that way but held my tongue. I like this one, we went on vacation recently . Before going we turned in a hold our mail card, But you guessed it she kept delivering the mail for those two weeks we were gone, and even better we found the hold mail card in our mailbox for some reason! strange because we mailed it out in an outgoing mail slot. We confronted her about it, she then tried to blame it on another postal worker saying she was gone the last few days prior, but our mailbox was stuffed so tight with two weeks worth of mail my only conclusion she dropped the ball again! because she doesn't care! and pays no attention to important details! But let me also say the post office itself has a couple folks that are decent except for the older man, he has been always rude and disrespectful to people's needs, he has made us take a step back almost constantly with his rudeness .but there is a middle aged lady there that is really nice, always a good experience with her. I wish I knew there names! I will update when I find out there names. But Honestly this lady that delivers our mail should not be employed with the post office she really worries us knowing she handles our mail and other folks mail with such disregard! I hope this helps resolve the issue. But I'm not going to hold my breath. I gave them one star because of the nice lady in the main postal office. I opened up a post box back in September 2016 I work right next door to the post office I went over there every single day after work about 6:30 p.m. I never got one piece of mail in that box I go March 3rd the previous week I didn't come because my dad had died my box is filled with mail because my box is due I had mail back from September dated through March 3rd that is absolutely ridiculous and they would not give me a refund for my but my point is I never receive any mail there for 6 months so what was the use of the post office box I would never use anything else from there again and I have eyes you'd probably not to do the same and go somewhere else I didn't even want to give it one star because it deserves no stars read more

This must be one of the worst postal sub-networks in the country, led by the Aurora post office. Our mail constantly gets lost / misdelivered to neighbors. Other times, tracking information shows that the mail was delivered but often it actually shows up 1-3 days later. If I go complain at the post office, someone takes down my contact information. That's all. They never give me a call back. After relying on prayer for a while, we have now switched to UPS/ Fedex. Effing post office! read more

I can't even get them to take outgoing mail, so I don't even bother anymore. If it was possible to give negative stars, I would. This is the worst post office ever. Several times my packages have been delivered to other people and the mail carrier had to hunt them down because they were Delivery Confirmed. Luckily on all occasions he found the missing packages. However, recently it has taken 3 weeks for a check to arrive from Chicago to Aurora. Also 2 1/2 weeks from Glen Ellyn to Aurora. Something is wrong with how they are doing things there. I was given a re-delivery slip three times for a package. Each time I signed the slip, asked for a redelivery and each day there was another slip in my mailbox. Finally the company that sent the package said because I never indicated for a redelivery it was returned to the company. What is the point of leaving a re-delivery slip if you are not going to re-deliver it? When I call the post office to address it, the phone rings for about 5 minutes and then someone picks up the phones and slams it down. This is not a joke. I hadn't even spoken to anyone yet. Truly any level of professionalism is non existent at this location. There is little/no proper management or anyone accountable for how poorly ran this location is. When I talk to my neighbors, its the same story. This post office is a nightmare and there needs to be a major change in management there. What they are doing is not working. I have complained on USPS website and will continue to do it until my mail issue is resolved. read more
