Seriously, the WORST. I've had a package of contact lenses stuck at this facility for over a week now. My tracking info literally says its arrived and has been in "sorting and processing" for seven days. That is so ridiculous! Its a tiny package of contact lenses, and I've never had an issue getting them shipped to me until this Bell Gardens black hole facility. Don't bother calling or heaven for bid actually going in and trying to find answers, they'll be rude and give you the run around-- government employees are always slow but this is especially bad at this post office. I sent a friend a package with a one of a kind animation puppet inside. It arrived at its destination ripped open, crudely taped, and filled with "back to school" style office supplies. (!) The puppet was gone. I've been living in the City of Bell for two years. In those two years, I've had mail missing and packages lost. I receive regular mail on a daily basis but when it comes to city letters and police department mail, it never arrives! My mail carriers are excellent and I give them a thumbs up for their service. I wish I could give this USPS NO stars. I shipped out a package priority mail 2-day. USPS picked up my package from my home on April 2. On April 3, my package arrived at Bell Gardens. And that's where it ends. Since 4/3, I've had NO tracking updates. I called the USPS customer service line and was told they would open up an investigation. They also told me that they would get back to me within 48-72 hours. Look at that, I've heard nothing. It's ridiculous that there are THIS MANY bad reviews about packages being lost, tampered with and stolen. I work in the customer service industry and this is by far the worst customer service I've ever received. I needed delivered a package that was sent from Ohio on December 4 and was sent with a 2 day delivery. According to the tracking information, it arrived in the BELL GARDEN'S, CA facility on December 5 and should have been delivered within a few days to Santa Ana, CA (approxiamtely 30 miles). Well, guess what? it is now the 12th and I still don't have it. USPS shipped it to Dallas, TX arriving on December 8, who then shipped it BACK to Bell Garden's arriving there on December 10th. They claim that it was then shipped on December 12th at 3AM. The USPS person just left and I STILL don;t have my package. My mail carrier said he was embarrassed to admit that one place he used to work would just let packages sit for days. Shut down his facility. It is run by incompetents and thieves. Whenever the track designates the hub of Bell Gardens I shudder as chances are the package will be lost in transit sent from the west coast to the east,or late in leaving. There is nobody in authority who will help. I've lost boxes and single packages of books. When I file a claim I'm sure it is put into the circular file. Feruary 21 I mailed a box of books to NYC. It left my local PO and on February 23 it supposedly left Bell. The buyer informed me he never received the book. Why do I buy a track when it doesn't serve its purpose?. My local PO gave me the Bell phone number which was disconnected. I googled Bell and got the number which I called to get the message that the person wasn't there and gave a forwarding number. Called that and the person answering it not only wasn't a postal employee but a client of mine living in Oceanside. I'm out $75.00 and I still don't know where my box is-in outer space? Do what the airlinesdo. Put in inspectors and cameras to find out who is misdirecting or stealing books. There is a difference between Corona and Corona Del Mar. I've had several packages over the past year that get routed through Bell Gardens and then get sent down to Corona Del Mar. Zip Codes aren't even close. The USPS website shows the package is out for delivery, but unfortunately its out for delivery out in Corona Del Mar and I'll have to wait probably a week to get my shipment. read more

I shipped a pretty expensive package from Southlake, Tx to Walnut, Ca on 12-9-15. The estimated delivery date was to be 12-15-15. It is now 12-21-15 and the status is currently "in transit". I've never had any issue with USPS as they've always been reliable and on time. So, when a package I'm expecting gets held up locally like a few cities away I decided to do a Google search and found all these negative experiences with this facility. I hope for the best that it's just delayed and not plundered. My tracking number shows my box of precious priceless irreplaceable scholarly materials is stuck at this facility. At least, i hope it's somewhere. It seems the dead letter office sent me a wrapper ripped off from my carefully packed box. Why would an employee cut off the address and mail it to me and pretend the package is lost? Bell Gardens is the absolute worst. My 2 day priority box was sent there in error and guess what? They lost it. Just like other people have said, the box gets there, it's scanned and that's the last scan there is. It's now been 9 days since my 2 day priority mail box was sent and I am beyond pissed. I had the full price of the cost reimbursed to me but I have $100 insurance on that box and so help me God they will be paying that also if that box doesn't get there undamaged and with everything, and I mean everything, I put in there. I sent an envelop containing a couple gift cards and a Christmas card from San Rafael CA to Battleground WA on December 12th. The envelop was insured for $500. My receipt shows the correct zip code for Battleground, so I didn't use the wrong zip code. My envelop was routed from San Rafael to Bell Gardens, and from Bell Gardens to Los Angeles, not to Washington. Los Angeles sent the envelop out today.
