I had a problem w a delivery. Talked to my postal worker. She was so nice about it and fixed it easily. So wonderful.

I would like to report an ongoing issue with mail delivery at 918 Holgate Drive, Kings Mill Apartments. The postal carriers frequently place mail into the wrong mailboxes, and a large amount of mail that does not belong to this building is left scattered on the floor. This creates confusion for residents and raises concerns about privacy, security, and proper handling of mail. Give no stars if I could. Lazy, disrespectful and rude staff. If an issue occurs you're referred to customer service. That gets u a game of back n forth with opposite things said and done or not done. Have a line out the door, yet staff are goofing off like kids behind the counter. And most of the deliverie workers on my route are so lazy. Can't even bother themselves to walk down a driveway. Even when politely asked. The entire postal system is a joke. Everything could improve. I went in at 9:01 am. They open at 9. They didn't unlock the doors until 9:25. Do you believe that crap???? Then they're god awful rude, there's only two workers there and they act like the world owes them something. All attitude. Oh and no where to park! Every space is taken up by a postal vehicle. Essex post office never closes the lid on my box. Today it rained. All my mail is soaked and ruined including important papers and bills. I often get the wrong mail. When I want to mail something I go to the post office 8 miles away because I do not trust Essex post office with my mail. Got a miss call from post office this morning , so i decided to call them back . This lady answered the phone and i told her i had a miss call , she then hands the phone to another employee. This employee needs to be fired all she does is talk over someone yells at you and hangs up i tried calling back several times and they are ignoring my calls . Typical goverment employee stereotype is overwhelmingly apparent at the Essex USPS. Employees are slow in movement and lack any sort of personality. They don't care to help or show a single ounce of customer service. Lines are out the door with one lady at the counter and 3 girls in the back giggling. Drivers forget to scan packages and skip deliveries whenever they want. Whenever I order something, I try everything I can do not have it shipped USPS because this branch is so untrustworthy and unreliable. Countless complaints to corporate never hold water and nothing ever come about it. If you enjoy being treat poorly from an emotionless zombie, then you'll enjoy the Essex USPS branch. This Post Office in Essex MD is disgusting. Visited 4/30 at 10:00am. The Post Master should be fired! The place is filthy. Floor can't have been washed and waxed in years. Ceiling is dirty and water stained. Trash cans overflowing. I waited in line 35 minutes to simply mail a small package. Only one clerk and the line was slowed down by the fact she needed to go to the back for every customer seeking help to check one thing or another. She moved with the pace of a snail. The line seemed to never move with 6-7 people in line. The line did go down when 3 people walked in and waited but left in frustration with the slow service. Why not two clerks? Surely you have a cleaning service. Bad service and filthy. I'll never return. read more

I visited this location and found it to be a poorly managed USPS location. Employees move very slow and there seems to be apathy from the employees at this location. This location is so inefficiently ran that stopping here will in fact make you inefficient for the day. I arrived at this location to purchase stamps and mail a few items. I was the first customer in line for the day but they didn't open the door until 5 mins after opening and then the cashier had to boot up her register and count her drawer. The supervisor at my local post office is refusing to re-key my mailbox unless I pay the fee to have it re-keyed. I have pointed out numerous times that as a new resident I am not responsible for this fee and will not be paying it per usps.com guidelines. I have since then made numerous complaints via the 1-800 number with no resolution. Since I have made these complaints, she has instructed my carrier to continue delivering my mail to the cluster box despite me putting my mail on hold. She has even called me to say "you can't get your mail unless you pay the fee" and "we charge every one flat out, period." It has now gotten to the point that since I complained about her not actually holding my mail at the post office for pick up that she is holding my roommate's mail there, but still having mine delivered to the cluster box. Each time I go to the post office, I am told it's still in the mailbox and to come back the next day to pick it up. I have attempted to pick it up on 3 separate occasions now and I am unable. I have made it aware every time I call the 1-800 number and go to the post office that I am unable to pay any bills now (including rent) or even buy groceries for my family because my paychecks get mailed to me. What she is doing is unacceptable misconduct and gross negligence and as a supervisor, she is a direct representation of this federal agency. If I continue to not reach the appropriate resolution to this case, I will have no choice but to reach out to an attorney seeing as it is causing undue hardship on my part. read more

I have 14 pieces of mail that have been scanned this week that I have never received. All of them are birthday cards. Why is everything being delivered except these cards? It is time to call my Congress man to investigate this post office and find out why they don't do their job. First and foremost who ever said the post office opens at 7am lied because it's just the door to the p.o box that is accessible.If you need to speak with customer service/postal worker/cashier they don't start taking people until 9am. This post office closes between the hour of 1pm and 2pm for lunch, FYI so plan your trip to the Post office accordingly. read more

WOW after reading some of these reviews I'm seeing that I'm not the only one who thinks this office IS indeed one of the worst there is out there. This office should be investigated inside and outside top to bottom through the Office of Inspectors. Noticeably customer experience is out the door and the employees could care less about anyone who walks through the door. The office itself cannot hold onto employees with a huge turn over rate that reflects extremely poorly of the office post master. That is her office and her team which is a BIG BIG reflection of her. I dont know what is going on at this Essex Branch! My mail is scanned but yet is not delivered, so far I am missing 6 UNEMPLOYMEMT checks THAT WERE SCANNED and COMING to my mailbox that day, nope not a one was delivered STILL!!! the manager told me just because it was scanned doesn't mean its out for delivery that day, ok well thats not what informed delivery says!! Here's the story. I had just got in from work when I let my dog out. I noticed that the mail carrier was headed to my neighbors house. I asked her if she could hand me my mail after delivering my neighbors and she ignored me. She than went from my neighbors house into the street avoiding my house. I than asked her if she had anything for me. She replies angry your not getting your mail. I asked why not. She said because you have an aggressive breed of a dog when in fact my dog is far from aggressive. He wasn't showing no signs of aggression as he was not barking, jumping or growling. I than asked her if I could come out of my yard or put my dog back in the house to get my mail and she replies again your not getting your mail. I asked her if she could hand my mail to my brother to whom was sitting on my other neighbors porch and she said like I said she's not getting her mail now. She than began taking photos of me as she was crossing the street on her personal cell phone than to go on to having a conversation about me over her cell phone Using profanity. I filed a police report in hopes of retrieving my mail and resolving an issue that seemingly could have been completely avoided. As there was plenty of options available. I than noticed I wasn't receiving my mail. Than noticed that on the days this mail carrier doesn't work I get my mail. The days she does work I don't get my mail. Noticeably She was skipping my home so I started to video record the same mail carrier skipping my house on several occasions with NO dog in my yard or even visible. I called in to the Essex Office that same day to report that My house is being skipped over and That I would like this entire situation to be resolved. The supervisor was completely rude and unprofessional that our conversation got no where and that she had no concerns of solving this issue.She stated that regardless of who's hands this complaint falls in the outcome would be the same. So basically nothing will get resolved. I'm not trusting that I receiving my mail entirely or timely. I recently reached out to the office on Fayette street to offer assistance and though my dog has NEVER even bothered this particular mail carrier or batted an eye we have to sign a dog owners paper to resume mail delivery. Signing the dog owners paper is no biggie it's the principal that this mail carrier is this afraid of dogs that people have to go all this way just to receive mail as your job does indeed require you to do so. There has never been a situation with my dog. She's discriminating against the breed of my dog and it shouldn't be allowed. If my dog is outside I can understand your afraid to deliver mail but if your skipping my house ima daily basis and my dog is indoors she's doing it out of spite. Not because she's afraid. Essex office is so unbelievably unprofessional and to be a government employee makes me feel like it doesn't require much to obtain the position. I reported this to our local senators and the Office of inspectors as well to further assist in resolving this matter. REF: ESSEX,MD post office I am really tired of my mail going somewhere else obviously because the letter carrier cannot read the address correctly. The first time this has happened I lost my auto insurance for 3 months. My billing statement was delivered to an address without a resident present. The second time DITTO same place same no one living there. 2 months later the property owner hands me my mail . One of the bills was not paid which results in late charges and a maxed out interest rate. I don't think the post office should be delivering mail with employees who would be best suited for work in a third world country. And who do I contact about the getting my money back ?
