(Rt. 33) Is scenic, dotted with farmland and gorgeous rolling hills. The post office is on the main "downtown" road that runs through the small business district. The post office is open M-F from 8-11, 12-4:30, (closes for lunch) and Sat. from 8-11. Lobby hours are 24/7. This branch doesn't offer passport service, you can, however, purchase money orders here. There's plenty of parking and a drive up mailbox. Last mail pick up is 4:30 weekdays, 11 am on Saturday. Just a few other businesses are nearby, including the Food Lion, Montpelier's only grocery store. Next to the post office is this cool antique pick up truck that I couldn't resist! But you won't find President James Madison's Montpelier home here in this sleepy village, it's north, about an hour away. Moreover, after sharing my concerns with the owners, whom I believed were committed to not condoning antisemitism, I have been ignored. Having been a loyal customer with a PO Box at this UPS store for over 10 years, it is concerning that they do not value our loyalty or seem to care that they employ someone who would engage in such behavior. If they hate Jews and Israel, who will the discriminate against next??? Needless to say, we have moved our POBox to a very friendly PakMail business in Manakin Sabot. I'll never understand those who hate Jews and Israel, for no reason at all. But the clerks here are friendly and there's seldom a line! I still am amazed that with a little sticker, a "forever" stamp, or a fun colorful stamp, you can send a letter or a card across the country, overseas, or to your neighbor next door! (With this pandemic, I've been sending a lot more mail lately!) As a side note, a few yards from this quaint post office, is an adorable Little Free Library! Check it out! As my partner pointed out, the owner is amazing and our mail always gets to us. We only had a problem with one employee in the past not putting package slips in our box. It is so important that we do business with thoughtful and friendly companies. It is important for a business to not be rigid... and treat us fairy. The prices are reasonable too. We like Post net. *Too bad they do not have a branch in Roanoke VA. Fingers crossed.
