Pretty bad. I usually love my UPS experience. The people here don't exude enough expertise, confidence or courtesy. I had three packages ready to send with two labels printed. I waited 20 minutes in line, then got rude comments from the guy when I grabbed tape for another customer. Then when it was my turn, he was distracted helping the other agent the entire time. t 62, I have encountered my first instance of blatant antisemitism, which has left me sad, angry and offended beyond imagination. The UPS store at 3420 Pump Road in Short Pump has a manager who refused to ship a package to Israel, a decision that was not aligned with company policy. Upon contacting the owners and confirming that this was a personal choice made by the manager, I was disappointed to find that no action was taken. Moreover, after sharing my concerns with the owners, whom I believed were committed to not condoning antisemitism, I have been ignored. Having been a loyal customer with a PO Box at this UPS store for over 10 years, it is concerning that they do not value our loyalty or seem to care that they employ someone who would engage in such behavior. If they hate Jews and Israel, who will the discriminate against next??? Needless to say, we have moved our POBox to a very friendly PakMail business in Manakin Sabot. I'll never understand those who hate Jews and Israel, for no reason at all. I've been in business before and it's not my nature to put up a post like this but have been left with no other option but to share my experience. Came here right after Christmas and there was a massive line. Connor, one of the staff, was coming onto his lunch break and decided to hop right in and help with the long line instead of taking his break. it was much appreciated and really helped get through all of the people. He's always very quick and helpful in other visits but this really stood out. read more

Carolyn, the owner/ manager, was so kind and diligent in following up on our case. We were scammed Christmas week last year. She worked tirelessly to stop the delivery to the west coast. On Christmas Eve, she returned our envelope to our house on her way home. Carolyn's effort, countless number of updated calls, and kindness outshined the ugliness we experienced that Christmas week. So I'm pretty annoyed with this UPS Store, but I'm unclear if my annoyed energy should be directed towards UPS Store as a whole or if this is a franchise thing. First, I love the UPS Store overall as in the brand; it is truly a one stop shop. One of my biggest pet peeves as a consumer is false advertising. I looked online to get a passport photo among other items I needed for a very important document. Now, my boyfriend was gonna make the photo happen at home but I said no, UPS Store will take care of me! Website said, I could get a passport photo. The sign inside the location, like over the counter of this UPS Store said they offered passport photos. I stood in line to find out they didn't. They even looked at me like I was crazy for thinking they would offer one... until I pointed to huge signs over their head. Anyway. This is a product of frustration, I'm sure I'll be back. Well, I am writing down my story after an unhappy call with the local store and I hope those who want to ship from them take a careful look at my experience. On September 24th, I shipped my digital piano with them. At that time, everything goes smoothly. I signed the paperwork and purchased an extra insurance for it. I also mentioned that it was a fragile digital piano so please take good care of it. And I asked if they could help me reinforce it and they told me that it will charge me $2 dollar. Please notice that up to now they didn't say anything about my packaging. No IMPROPER PACKAGING THINGS. On October 1st, it was delivered. I opened it with a happy face but I found a horrible truth. It was damaged. So I wrote to UPS immediately to ask for help. Up to October 8th, I sent all the pics as well as the emails to the UPS damage group but no one reached me as they promised. So I called them again and then, I was told to call the local store where I shipped my piano. I did so and I was told that due to an IMPROPER PACKAGING, I will get nothing for the damaged digital piano. U knows, nothing! They don't care if ur item is broken or not. U have to eat your own bitter fruit. The most ridiculous part is that I just know my package is improper packaging. Neither my friend and I was told about it at that time. Nobody told us when I shipped it and I still purchased a totally useless insurance. I also have to mention that I attached four layers of bubble wraps around the piano and put it into my carrying bag. Then I put the piano carrying bag into a shipping box and add more bubble wraps and foams. It is still considered as IMPROPER PACKAGING AND DAMAGED. Is there anyone can tell me what a Proper packaging is??? I think at least I should be told that the potential damage because of the packaging at the very beginning and I should have known that the insurance will not be useful in this case at that time, not now! If you get an unhelpful one - which happens too often here - the experience feels as miserable as the associate comes across. Go to the one near Innsbrook (unless you really need the USPS option available at the Short Pump location). You'll have a better experience there. read more

Don't bother. Staff is beyond rude and unprofessional. I arrived with a PRE PAID package to drop off at 6:29pm. They close at 6:30. The staff was locking the door as I attempted to enter. I was there to drop off a package. James UPS clerk assisted me & there was no delay. I forget to take my receipt & he found me as I was walking away & handed it to me. I wanted to put a review of this UPS office service but the machine for me isn't friendly. Another staff employee helped me but we concluded I have to download the QR reader App. The next time I was there the machine was gone so here is my review. I don't normally go to this UPS Store location but because I was at AC Moore, I decided to give this location another try. It wasn't busy as it normally is after 2PM. Today I visited your location at 3420 Pump Rd Henrico, VA 23233. I realize that we are in the midst of a pandemic, I work in grocery retail. And although my job is essential, I still have a choice to go to work everyday. I know my job is in the public. I'm not sure if you are forcing your employees to be at work but as I went to mail a few Easter presents to my nieces that I can not see, due to this pandemic, I was not greeted. I was treated like I was annoying the employing working with me. He was rude, inconsiderate, and made me feel bad for being there to mail my packages. If you don't want customers - why are you open!? When I could no longer take him being annoyed with me being at his counter I said I would take the rest to the post office - he simply said good. I mean, how awful. He was a young white male with a mask on - 3:15 pm on Thursday 4/9. I'll never return to this location and will choose fed ex or the postal service over UPS any chance I can just due to this one interaction. read more

The manager, Carolyn, is outstanding. I've been a customer here for over a year. I rent a box and frequently ship packages. Because of that, I'm in this store a lot. I'm consistently impressed with the professional, pleasant attitude of the staff. But it is Carolyn who really goes above and beyond to learn customer names, and make sure she does what she can to make their day better. I was surprised to see the mix of reviews on this page. I'm not sure how long Carolyn has been at this store, but it's definitely a pleasure doing business there now. read more

The worst being the older middle aged guy with glasses who I assume is the manager. Management and leadership 101 - you need to set an example for your employees to follow. The lack of professionalism and customer service at this location, results in me dropping off my UPS packages at the Staples down the street instead. Shame. I visited this location on Saturday, November 16 to ship a care package to my boyfriend who is a deployed sailor in the US Navy. Today, January 25 that package has been returned to me, undelivered, after 70 days, with the box crushed on three sides. This is unacceptable. I will be resending the package with FedEx. When I visited the UPS Store in Short Pump, it was a Saturday afternoon after the Post Office had closed, so I decided that rather than wait until Monday, I would give UPS a try. I asked the employee behind the counter if they could ship to FPO addresses, and he asked if that was military. I confirmed that it is, and he said it would be no problem. He weighed my package and asked a few standard questions about the contents then he typed in the address that I had already written on the box. Now that it has been returned (after more than three months' delay!), I see that the shipping invoice inserted in the plastic mailing sleeve carries the logos of Priority Mail, US Postal Service. I had no idea that the UPS Stores shipped via USPS, though the method of shipping would not have mattered to me if it had actually reached its destination. I also see that the employee who typed out the address misspelled the name of the ship and also left four digits off the end of these address. Both of these were included on the other side of the box where I had hand-written the address, so I don't know if his typing errors are the reason for the failure to deliver. I will visit the store again to ask if they will refund my shipping costs but I expect this experience with the UPS Store will be my last. read more

I left something behind at a hotel nearby this location. I called the store and asked for help in getting the item back to me. The manager, Carolyn, went out of her way after work to pick the item up from the hotel for me and shipped it out to me the next morning. Great customer service. The UPS store at Short Pump was a fabulous resource for me. I had my mailbox there for 8 years. Not only could I do all of the "regular" UPS stuff there, they were always friendly and with a smile. For me, it was a quick in and out. I already had my label affixed to my package. Staff was very nice and personable.

The young girl working the front desk today Robin was had the biggest attitude of any front end customer rep I've ever encountered. She cut off customers when they were speaking, rolled her eyes when speaking with customers over the phone, and put her hand up in a stop signal when I was speaking with her. She lacks the professional representation I am sure your company expects. I would hope her manager would address basis customer service expectations. The reason I came in was to print 5 black and white 8.5 x 11" photos. When she asked what I needed I asked if I could print photos and she said yes and stared at me. I then asked how could I print them for example was the store computer available to sign into or did I need to connect my phone. She said no you cannot use the computer we have someone come install new carpet. Then again stared at me. I had to ask, ok so how can I print the photos? She said email them to store3006@theupsstore.com. She walked away and began helping other customers (which was fine) and I then sent all 5 photos to the store email account. After another 10 minutes of waiting while she helped other customers she went to the back briefly and said coldly they didn't work I said email them separately as an attachment. I apologized and said I would do it again. Another man came out of the back with a preview of my email and said it was wrong because they couldn't open attachments on the computer. Robin then yelled from behind the counter "it doesn't work! I said send as an attachment." I asked her to clarify how to do so on a n iPhone and she put her hand up to me saying "he will be with you in a moment I am not helping you." It was rude, inattentive, and disrespectful while in a store with other customers. She kept helping others and when I ask her if she or the guy were helping me she rolled her eyes and said "he will be with you in a moment". I work for an international company that just built real estate up the road. We are constantly in need of supplies and services that UPS offers however I will be sure that my staff does not spend money at this location. It is said to see that this is the Short Pump welcome. As a business owner I would advise her attitude be addressed before she continues to cost you valuable dollars. read more

I've been coming here for a little over 4 years. It's either dropping off prepaid packages for UPS or figuring out postage and you're met with contempt and apathy. The individuals working there either don't like their job and wish they were NASCAR drivers or they got fired from the US Postal system. As I walked in from the parking lot I saw a lady trying to open the front door with a large package in hand and "over the hill" ear ring guy just watching her! No help at all! I have been to other UPS locations and have always been treated with respect here. The staff was extremely patient with me and helped me decide on the best, most economical way to ship my package. I didn't want to hold them up when another customer came in, but a second person came out to help her. I have used them before to fax documents for me, and they were rooting for me as it was related to legal information. I liked the personable people that were there this morning. My first experience was fantastic. The girl working at the counter was super friendly and knowledgeable -- she answered all of my questions well. I would've given the store a 5 rating after that first experience; but, my second trip was good, but not great. The man working there was on what I think was a personal phone call when I walked in (on the store phone), and it didn't seem like he was trying to get off the call, until a minute or so after another customer walked in. He was a little cursory in his approach with me, and I was mailing some things that were time sensitive, so it wasn't a match for my nervousness about what I was sending. The owner or manager of this store is the rudest individual around. I will drive six miles out of my way to bring my business somewhere else. The rest of the employees are fine, but my business goes elsewhere as long as he is there, which is a shame since it's so convenient. If I have an extra empty box or two, he won't take it for recycling, unlike other establishments. This isn't my only complaint, the rest is attitude. read more

I went there to drop off a prepaid package and she did not even want to answer my basic question. asked me to put the package on the scale. want to charge money to put a 1 inch tape and trying to sell a whole tape. while talking, scanned and ready to process while the package was not sealed. told her that i have decided to take it back. but refused to give the package back as she has already scanned. called another guy and he was ok for me to take the package. i will drive to another location and drop this off. these guys lost my business for good. it was not surprise to see others experienced with this rude lady.
