Possibly the best USPS in Tallahassee. This location itself is spacious with plenty of parking. Not to mention, too, that inside the plethora of mailboxes and options overall can be surprising. Had it been another day, I'd have rated this five stars, but I'm dropping to four stars. The reason? I still remember the last time I went when I was attended by an employee who while efficient and pointed me to a machine to take my package, she was a tad short with me and I didn't appreciate that. I always liked this post office. I have been a customer there for 20 years including renting a PO Box. Yesterday I visited and it was not crowded, but I was treated like an unwelcome nuisance. I am a cancer patient with major chemo brain plus a brain tumor that impacts my memory. I lost my key over a year ago and would go in every few weeks when it was not busy, show my ID, and ask for help getting my mail. The truth is that I couldn't turn the key anyway due to rheumatoid arthritis in my hands plus weakness from my illness. I was always thankful and kind, and every time I went there, I left a positive review with the post office. This is despite dealing with many incidents of lost mail. I have been a lifelong stamp collector and postal customer, so I have always been a fan. Two months ago I bought a replacement key and I already lost it due to brain issues. I only asked for help once since then, and yesterday was the second time I asked. Vincent, who had always been kind until then, humiliated me in front of other customers and made me feel like a nuisance rather than a valued customer, even after I paid to buy yet another key. When I tried to explain my disability, he lacked compassion and continued to be unkind. There were only two other customers in there at the time, but they were both so empathetic. One was a cancer survivor with residual chemo brain and the other has a father currently battling cancer. If only Vincent had a little empathy. Maybe he was just having a bad day, but if I never go there again, I will be happy. I am truly in tears over the way I was treated. read more

Very rude and disrespectful not helpful and stole my packages twice. Save yourself the trouble.

I went in to this post office to rent a mailbox. I had read the information online, but much prefer face-to-face transactions if possible. There was no line when I walked in at 5:40 pm so I was helped immediately by "Vincent" who was very pleasant and truly patient in explaining the rates/types of mailboxes available. He also informed me of the services provided in case I am not able to pick up the mail for some reason. Very nice person; great customer service. read more

If I could rate this post office 0 stars I would. It's unbelievable how bad they are at their jobs. I lived elsewhere in FL for my entire life and NEVER had an issue with the local post office simply not delivering packages to me. Not once. I'm here for one year, and I've had not one, not two, not three... over a half dozen packages simply not delivered when they are supposed to be. They go out for delivery at 7am, and come 9pm they mark it as "delivery attempted, no access". Other times they'll not deliver them and mark them as "ready to pickup". Occasionally they'll mark them as DELIVERED and then not even deliver them Right now as I'm typing this, I had two amazon packages out for delivery yesterday morning. They marked them as delivery attempted/no access both yesterday AND today. They simply won't deliver them. It's shocking how bad they are at simply getting you your mail. These guys are completely inept. Update: it's not June 11, they've had my packages since very early am on June 8, and I still only have 1 of the 2. read more

This is the worst postal delivery anywhere. My package was delivered to the wrong house that had a fence across pourch for the dog,my neighbors house. USPO in an email said could not deliver package due to inability to get to the front door. This was the wrong house!! Tried to call local post office, no one ever answers the phone, just rings and rings and goes dead. Tried 1-800 number. All I got was inappropriate prompts. It must be difficult to repair the box drop and to keep the Priority Mail materials stocked. (Having a pile of large PM boxes thrown on a table doesn't fulfill the needs of the public.) They do not answer their phone. A message comes on saying to wait for transfer to the operator, then you get disconnected.

Since moving to Tallahassee about two years ago, my mail is regularly delayed due to the extreme laziness and incompetence of employees at this location. Packages sent using the postal service almost never arrive on the scheduled delivery date at my home, and the few times that I've had to visit this location have been painful. Postal delivery person thinks responsibility for package delivery ends at the mailbox. Box too big--refuse to deliver it to the house, or squish it until it fits in the box, or leave it under the mailbox on a busy road! We have had all three situations with package delivery! The squished box also had signature requested but they did not attempt to obtain a signature. I'm filing a complaint also. Just wanted to vent here too. read more

Definitely one of the worse post offices I've visited. I stayed on call for over 30 minutes so I drove to the location and when I asked the employee if I had another option to get my package that needed a signature he said no I'd have to come back tomorrow. When I telephoned, the canned message system said "Stay on the line and your call will be transferred to the next available agent." After many rings, another canned message asked me to enter a "remote access code." When I did not enter a code I don't have, the system disconnected. I tried again, same result. Having lived in Tallahassee for nearly twenty years, I've been to all of the post offices quite a few times. The Centerville Road location has the most courteous staff, and the most clean and well maintained building and grounds. I go to this location at least once a week to ship out an order, and the staff know me by now and always have a smile ready. One very nice counter-person even suggested a few things about how I can mail my orders in a more cost effective way, which was very helpful. If it's getting near the holidays though, buy your seasonal stamps early! It's probably the same everywhere, but they sell out quick. read more
