Once I received the first test back and it showed high levels of Radon. I called Utah Radon right away to get an estimate to have mediation. lucky for me they were able to come over the same day and install the items needed to mediate the radon. From dealing with the office and then with the gentlemen techs who came to our home Johnnie and Gage were very helpful, knowledgeable, professional, as well as answered my many questions. Which was greatly appreciated. Unfortunately with the way our house was built and built pretty crappy we had an issue with our heater because the fan for the radon is so powerful our motor for the HVAC wasn't working right. We had to get a tech from our HVAC people to come out and solve the issue. Found that we had two drains in our unfinished area where everything was, so we had to plug one of the drains and have the unit cleaned throughly before turning the HVAC on again. Johnnie with Utah Radon has gone above and beyond to come over to turn the mediation fan off, and coming back to turn it back on once we got the HVAC situated! Everyone was really nice and they seemed to know their stuff. There was a bit of a fluke problem when installing. Their vacuum broke that keeps the concrete from the drilling isolated. The concrete rubble and dust ended up going down our drain causing a flood. After recognizing and verifying all the concrete sediment in the flood water they were very responsive, reimbursed the bill for the plumber and trouble and will be repairing the carpet. With the exception of the vacuum issue the installation went well. The installers were very professional and did an outstanding job. I've been measuring the radon level in our basement for a long time and it went from 1+ pCi/L with our windows open all the time to 0.5 on average with them shut. I forget what the measurement was with windows shut but it was averaging at least 2 or 3 pCi/L if not more. The installers were also able to find a way to run the install through the attic so everything is hidden and looks great. Keep in mind that your results may vary but I'm very happy with the end result. I appreciate their honesty in fixing the problem with the flood damage and the installation and everything else was as good as I could have hoped for. I will work with them again in our next house and recommend them for their professionalism and honesty. read more

As with other reviews, the guys failed on their first attempt to drill a hole in the foundation, with convenience of installation seeming their priority. They told me they would do me a huge favor by putting the pipe where I wanted, assured me it was going to be a huge pain, then pressured me to leave a positive review as a way of showing my appreciation. I'm pretty sure they get a cash bonus for reviews, so these reviews are likely padded through such methods. After they finished the project, I got my ladder out and climbed into the attic to check the work. Sadly, they threw their scrap and garbage back into my attic so I had to go fishing in insulation to clean it all up. Lame! read more

We were required to schedule our installation 3 months in advance. Installation was for 7:30am on Friday. Text message came in at 6:30am that the technician doing our install was out and that they would have to reschedule. We were required to give 3 months' notice, but they text us an hour before they are supposed to arrive. I wouldn't recommend this company. Look for someone more reliable. read more

The whole process was very fast and efficient. Braxton and Jaren showed up and thorougly explained the whole process to me. They answered all the questions i had and didn't make me feel dumb for asking them. They were so nice in helping me move what was in the way of the installation. Two Techs showed up on time, We had two units installed today by Jaren Foster and Cole. Both guys were super excellent, super professional, super courteous and respectful, and extraordinarily competent. Utah Radon Services put a system in our home recently and it was nothing short of a disaster for us as home owners. First we filled out their questionnaire online and we believe since our answers to the questions brought up no red flags they sent some of their least experienced guys to do the job thinking it would be an easy, quick install. When they saw where we wanted the mitigation system put in, which was our utility room, they then searched for an easier but much more inconvenient to the home owner place instead. When we insisted it go in our utility room they started pointing out it wouldn't be up to code with how close it would be to our metal furnace piping. After they realized we weren't going to budge in location they got to work. My husband took apart the metal furnace piping to give them more room, which in helping them problem solve throughout the time they were here my husband ended up having to take a half day off from his regular job, which I was told was, "his purgative", by the companies owner. Longer story shorter they couldn't get their piping in, they mis-drilled a 4 inch hole into our upstairs linen closet floor without first drilling a smaller pilot hole (which the owner Bruno educated me on.) My husband told the guy which electrical circuit to tie into in the attic for the Mitigation fan but his request was disregarded and instead they tied into one that was already overloaded, once again more convenient for them I'm sure. They wanted us to have our heating and air guys come and move the flue an inch over before continuing at a later date which first off we were told by them (our heating and air company) it couldn't be done and second they could disconnect everything and put it back in after the Radon guys got their piping in but it would be unnecessary in their opinion as well as cost us a pretty penny. After receiving this information we felt ignored by Utah Radon Services from Thursday til Monday evening as far as getting us back on their schedule to finish the job. On Tuesday morning I called to speak with a manager as I felt either the company was horrible with customer service, which by the looks of the good reviews here couldn't be the case or the manager must have never been informed as to what was going on with our install in order to be given a chance to make things right. I spoke to the owner, Bruno, and I felt he was both defensive and arrogant as to all the issues we ran into as I tried to explain what had transpired. He interrupted numerous times during the call with me and also tried to end the call multiple times before I had a chance to discuss my list of issues with him. The job was finished with ease the following Thursday by a couple of their best workers (different ones than the first guys), they were in no rush to fit us in sooner and make things right. They did nothing to fix the 4 inch hole in the linen closet and they did not tie into the "live" circuit in the attic that was originally discussed as to not overload the other one. Both of these issues were discussed with the owner and neither were addressed and fixed nor were we given any kind of discount in price. My husband had to once again spend about half a day putting the metal furnace piping back together as well as correct and fix the issues created by Utah Radon Services. In the end I hope this review can help this business become more efficient and effective at training installers, have better customer service, and taking care of their customers in a more professional and timely manner as well as consider a 10-20% discount if problems arise that get put in the home owners lap to fix. As far as the Mitigation system they put in, it seems to be working great and has a lifetime warranty (just not the fan which has a 5 yr warranty) which helps put us at ease. read more

I had reached out to several Radon mitigation companies over the past 18 months. I had literally 4 other companies come to my house and review options of where to install the Radon System. My house was built in the 70's and remodeled in 2014. I wanted as little cutting and the most direct route as possible so that both the interior and exterior of the job was aesthetically nice. After a few months of doing nothing due to lack of options and frustrations, I reached out to Utah Radon Services. The sales guy came to my house and went over a few scenarios (some of which were already presented by previous Radon companies). My options were limited and we accepted that. While Utah Radon Services price was similar to others, we chose to go With Utah Radon Services due to their professionalism and respect. I expressed several concerns that I wanted a clean job site and clean installation and outcome. They did a great job of keeping my house tidy and free of dust. They protected my carpet and furniture to ensure there was as little mess as possible. The installer was very friendly and professional with his work, as well to my family. He did a great job! And this by no means was an easy job, it took him over 8 hours! After the job was complete we re-tested the Radon Levels in my house and they went from from over an 8 to a low 0.8 pCi/L! My basement no longer has that stale basement air smell. The air is noticeably cleaner and my family has a great piece of mind that now having a Radon Mitigation System installed. I had Utah Radon tell me that my level was at 8. So when they came out to install the system they didn't want to go through the work and install it right but would rather put it in the worst spot in our house. They clearly didn't want to find another route and then wanted to dig a big hole through my foundation and then said I'd have to fill the hole back in. Tyler was not very understanding and just said good luck finding another radon service. I wouldn't recommend them. They don't show that they care much. read more

Utah Radon went above and beyond for my complex house. We had to have two units and had multiple crawl spaces. Toward the end, we asked them to change the route of two of the pipes and they did for no extra charge. Great customer service and excellent work. I like these guys. Very good at hiding pipes. Turns out my radon levels were super low and didn't need to do anything else. I found Utah Radon Services through a Google search. They had good reviews, but I'm always a bit sceptical. (You never know if it's just friends and family that are writing reviews). Let me say that I couldn't have been happier with their responsiveness to our initial request, the quality of work that was done in the house, and their willingness to come back and correct a small issue. Not to mention the price was exactly in line with our original expectations and it cost exactly what they quoted us. OK this guys give me a price over the phone between 1200 and $1400. They showed up early in the morning They were on time that we discussed several options of where to put it. Decided to put it on the wall next to the garage. Then I had to leave for the day. Two hours later they were done with the project. I was unhappy where they actually located the pipes there a little further from the wall then I'd hoped. But I guess the biggest thing that bugged me. Was they only took two hours to do the whole project I knew all the parts cost less than $300. I was thinking of doing it myself without a time constraint. They ended up charging me $1400 for two hours worth the work over $500 an hour I think they do good work but I'm just not happy with them so they gave him a one star. Tim.
