I was supposed to have trial lessons here a few months ago and we walked into the building and it was very dirty so we decided not to continue. I was here again for a birthday party. And there's been no improvement there's gross ceiling tiles hair all over the floor. There was even poop on the bathroom walls. We are SO disappointed and if I could leave ZERO stars, I certainly would! Last week, we had a swim lesson scheduled with Aileen but when we showed up we were stunned as it wasn't Aileen (or a female at all!). In fact, my 5 year old daughter had been reassigned to a MAN swim teacher unbeknownst to us. My kid was upset, obviously, as we were expecting her favorite teacher: Aileen. She was crying and not happy. Leading up to this, we pay a lot! We pay $29/ class for a mere WHAT SHOULD BE 20 minutes; however, not a single lesson has started on time and ended on time. The teachers only give us about 18 min and if you do the math, they're charging us a ton: $1.45/min. So EVERY minute matters. Going to Aqua Tots from here on out. I'm not wasting another dollar at this rip off swim school. There are SO many others. Too bad this place sucks. read more

Our 6.5 year old autistic twins have had 20 lessons at Utah Aquatic's Academy. We have had multiple instructors. Every instructor has been amazing with each of our twins and they both are doing great. Both our boys have severe anxiety and do not like to leave our house. However, we've yet to hear a complaint about leaving to go to swim lessons. I absolutely love that the lessons are private, and one on one. We have to have one on one instruction with our twins. I can't say even positive things about their program from their instructors to the ease of scheduling. We are continuing their swim lessons indefinitely. Thank you! read more

Really loved most of the instructors. However, there is a very high turnover rate, so once your child gets used to an instructor, they leave. Management Is extremely poorly run. There is no system to sort out issues you have. They changed their mask policy and didn't announce It to their customers. I've been trying to get my money back for the lessons I paid for after they changed their policy (since their new mask policy no longer works for my child) and they stopped communicating with me after I clearly stated why I wanted a refund. read more

I am, unfortunately, resorting to posting a review, as the owner is deleting negative feedback under her other platforms. Some of the instructors that we have had are fabulous. They care for my child and my child made great headway with water safety with their lessons. That being said, I cannot continue to support a company with an owner who publicly belittles customers, refuses to address parent concerns/deletes any productive criticism, and continues to make claims regarding children's mental health (specifically trauma during swim lessons) when she is not qualified to do so. I am sad to be parting ways, but there are too many other awesome business owners to support for swim lessons when she continues to show concerning behavior towards her customers. read more

I recently started my 2 year here for their survival swim lessons. I could not be any happier with our experience! My son has severe eczema so finding a saltwater pool was also a requirement for us. He doesn't seem to have any issues with the water solution on his skin or the mass amounts consumed during a lesson, lol. I appreciate how easy it is to schedule and book online. My son loves it and can't wait for his next lesson. I feel confident with the curriculum and the pace they set based on each child. I would highly recommend Utah Aquatics Academy to anyone and everyone! I can't wait to see my sons progression and continued pride with his efforts. read more

Update- I did take my own child here for lessons unfortunately. I'm not sure where you are getting that I didn't? Talking to parents beforehand doesn't excuse harsh treatment of children either. Just because some parents may treat their children that way at home, doesn't mean that you as a business owner should enforce and do that too. We eventually had enough and quit going after no notable progress whatsoever. There was absolutely no gameplay established with us either, so that's a flat out lie. I think the academy should be renamed to "Utah float aquatics." My child is very smart, and a fast learner and, but mostly just an average 4yr old, who did not even learn how to float properly after 20 Floating lessons. Yes I did bring my child to classes here. Nearly 20 classes, over $400 worth of lessons. Completely wasted time and money. Take your kids elsewhere! read more

A few short weeks after starting lessons, my 18 month old became ill. Readers Digest Version: DO YOUR RESEARCH. There are facilities that can teach your little ones these life saving skills in an environment that has rules and regulations to help protect your child from waterborne illnesses. One example is the diapering requirements. This is how many illnesses are spread. It only takes one... My 18 month old has been battling cryptosporidium for 2 months. This can be very serious for children 2 and under as well as for the elderly and is contagious. The Rx alone to treat her cost over $400 and the test to detect the crypto parasite was over $800. I wish I had known more before investing so much time and money into a facility that I was not properly informed about. IF YOUR INFANT/TODDLER/CHILD is having abdominal pains, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, or recurrent diarrhea, do not blow it off! They too could be fighting a parasite that their body can't kick on it's own. read more

Effective. I can't say enough good things about Aquatics Academy. Their methods are effective for teaching survival swim skills to my babies and toddlers. The program works and I'll take that to the grave. I bet my life on it. No. In fact I bet my children's lives on it that it works. They are safe in the water. Once they were safe, kicks and strokes were taught in a way that my children understood. I am not an easy person to please, but aquatics academy is A+ in my book. I don't understand why so few reviews are posted (3), and 91 reviews are not recommended. The critique I have is that it isn't run too well. The owner seems to have bitten off more than she can chew and she needs to seek out more help, from professionals, in running it. It's also VERY difficult to schedule any lessons as they seem to be booked out even before releasing their new schedule. It seems pointless to recommend them to friends since they have no availability and all the new teachers they bring in aren't the most experienced. Pros: their program works. No question. Cons: You can't schedule and the new teachers they hire are inconsistent in quality. read more

I have LOVED Aquatics Academy for my baby. My family spends a lot of time around water in the summer so we decided to start her in swim lessons as soon as she was old enough at 4 months. We tried a different swim school at first that was a group setting that said they took as young as 4 months, but it was geared towards toddlers and not babies. My friend told me about Utah Aquatics and that it was private lessons so my baby could really get the attention she deserved. Bonus: it was cheaper, and I could schedule the lessons. I didn't have to stick to the swim schools schedule. My little one gets so excited when she she sees they're at the pool and loves swimming with Madi every week! read more

Well, what started out as an amazing program well worth the time, energy, and cost for our kids has turned into a frustrating nightmare that has lost all its value. We have been with aquatics academy for nearly 3 years and patiently and loyally bore through the expansion and pandemic changes, in fact, we were excited for how it would grow and having a swim team that my kids would join in a few years, it seemed like it would be really great. All our excitement and loyalty was quickly rewarded with over 50% increases in price per lesson in a matter of a year and a half, high instructor turn over rates, leaving only one or two experienced and well-trained instructors. And after being with the experienced teachers for 3 years, do you think we can even schedule with them now? Sure, once we pay an additional 10% PER lesson EVERY month, just to get the instructors we know and love. And that's if you can even get on their schedule in the first place. And this is after months of not getting our instructors, or even consistent and quality instructors because they couldn't decide how they would schedule, and brand new clients ended up getting first dibs on the schedule, leaving loyal clients with no options. When I met with the owner and expressed my frustration, we had a great talk. She really made us feel like she cared and wanted to find a good solution. She admitted the instruction quality had been poor all summer, that they were changing the training program and hoping to see less turnover, and thanked us for sticking with them. She was kind, I really think she genuinely wants to help, but is getting terrible business advice on how to handle it all. They finally came up with a way of permitting loyal clients as designated by the instructor at least access to the schedule before it filled up, only to turn around and say, if you want to keep this access, we're going to charge you additionally to guarantee your spot. So what was supposed to be a loyalty program just turned into another way to charge more money for lessons that are no longer high quality because the company grew too big, too fast, and is pushing the burden onto the client. Even this would be understandable and worth the cost if the instruction was high quality like it used to be, but unless you have one of the experienced instructors, the instruction is hit or miss now as well. So I don't even feel like my youngest is really learning to be safe in the water, which is the whole point. They say no membership or cancellation fees, but there absolutely are additional costs to everything now, including if my child suddenly is ill and can't make a lesson, once upon a time, I could contact the instructor and reschedule, even under 24 hours. Now, if it's under 24 hours, there's no option to contact anyone, you just lose the now $33+ for 20 minutes of so-so instruction. Or if the instructor is sick, we have to reschedule in their entirely booked schedule, because that's possible? Or take whatever substitute they throw in there? My daughter had actually started to regress in her skills because of all of this, and is finally back and maintaining again, and my son has made the tiniest of progress, but every time the instructor is switched, he regresses entirely. I'm paying to have an inexperienced substitute hug my son instead of teach him, because he doesn't know them and is anxious so won't do anything but cry, when if he could just have a consistent instructor, even a crappy one, he'd be calm and could learn something. Well, finally got on the consistent instructor schedule in January after 8+ months of trying and just getting whatever instructor there was, and we were all full of hope that maybe things are actually going to work again and my kids will learn and we can love the program again. Then we get an email saying to book for the next months lessons, we have to pay the extra cost again. Then we get an email about another price increase per lesson on top of that. But because we're existing clients, we won't have to pay that increase until March, you know, because we appreciate that you are the ones who gave us our start and referred friends and helped our business succeed, we're going to treat you like dirt, but you get to wait a month to pay the new price! For real?! In 3 years, I've spoken to the owner only a 2 or 3 times, the most recent being about my frustrations over the summer. She has always been kind and responsive and tried to be understanding. I reached out again, over the last couple weeks, and nothing. Can't even be bothered to say sorry for all the frustration, sorry to lose you, nothing. Guess they're to big now to care about the people who made their business succeed to begin with. So, we're done. The value has long since been lost and the lessons are no longer worth my kids time or my frustration. As I can't have my lessons refunded, we'll finish out whatever I've purchased, and we'll be finding a better program for our kids. read more

We've been doing swimming lessons here for 2 years. We have loved almost all our instructors (we've had over 10 different ones, the one we didn't like no longer works there) and find it very easy to schedule, unlike other swim schools where they have to look through schedules and call you back. Aquatics Academy does scheduling online. I also felt it was the best priced in the valley until recently when they upped their prices... now I feel like it's at the standard rate for the valley. My favorite part though is that they have multiple Instructors at the same time so I can have all 4 of my kids in the water at the same time (as long as I schedule the first day they open up the schedule). It's a 25 min drive for me, but I keep coming back. They really do get your kids to be safe swimmers very fast! read more
