I'm an avid thrifter who hits thrift shops a couple of times a week. I drive past this place all the time, but out of the last 20 times I've passed it, I've only actually gone inside maybe three times. I gave it a third chance today thinking the last visits were just off days, but the awkward, uncomfortable vibe is consistently terrible. They do have nice home decor, but the place is super crowded and cramped, and the prices aren't even that great. To make matters worse, the energy in the store is awful. You can tell the workers are folks who have been through some rough times and are trying to work through a program, but the manager at the register spends her whole day publicly micro-managing, barking at, and berating them across the floor over the smallest things. You just end up feeling terrible for the workers. She's nasty to customers, too. I overheard another shopper ask a simple question because she misunderstood a discount percentage, and the manager literally barked, "Do you want it or not?" at her. Listening to that kind of hostile behavior while trying to shop completely ruins the experience. I ended up just buying one item and rushing out, when I probably would have picked up more if I could actually browse in peace. On top of all that, the second you walk through the door, you get hit with a crazy, fast-talking lecture on 15 different tag discount rules and exceptions that nobody can keep track of anyway. I'd love to shop here more since I'm always driving by, but the crazy pricing rules and the manager's terrible attitude make it a place I usually just skip. read more

Never mentioned I was a veteran nor should I have to this place definitely looks down on minorities if this was really revolved around Christ they wouldn't judge a book by its cover or act the way they do towards customers who aren't Caucasian this place will not be recommendable to friends and family I'd say stay away. They have plenty of stuff to choose from but they price it almost like it's new and not used( not a problem) but their service is horrible. read more

This is a hidden gem here in town. Always looking for great deals. This place has a bunch of cute stuff for a cozy place. The service here is good, the prices are a little high but you can absolutely get lucky if you know what you're looking for. The selection for shoes is decent if you like heels. I was looking for thermals or work coveralls and found neither. I did find a great deal on an Ion hair curler with temperature control that is purple for $12.50 so total score. I'm always looking for a bargain especially when it comes to clothing my family. Seems like we are in a never ending cycle of "Keeping up with the Jonses!" They don't want Walmart clothing, they want the good stuff! I found just the place! At U turn for Christ Thrift Shop you can get good quality, like new items for cheap! There is something for everyone and the staff is always so and helpful. Also keep in mind that this is a religious organization but, they don't bombard you with scripture when you walk through the door! I have purchased some great dress shirts and shorts for the guys in my brood as well as a great looking Calvin Klein belt and a Kate Spade bag all for under $40.00. They also have furniture and household goods and a huge section of books and baby stuff! You should definitely put this place on your list of places to check out! read more

Stay away from this place! They get all these things for free, and have this great sign that says 50% off everything....it's BS. I went with my kid looking for clothes to send with a friend who is going to Nepal to serve the underprivileged there. I like to buy gently used clothes and clean them up or repair them if needed. I picked up about six items, one was a pair of jeans I had no idea until after the fact that they were high end. They had a stain on the front and one on the back but my plan was to try to get the stains out or put some cool patches on them. They looked like forever 21 trendy jeans. I go up to the counter and the lady with the glasses who is always there gives me my total, after having a very long convo with a guy she had just helped in front of me (she saw me waiting with an impatient five year old and still thought it appropriate to have a long drawn out convo with the guy)....it was 60! I was like woahhh wait a min...then she explains to me that those jeans are sold at Nordstrom for $200 and that the tag (made by the thrift store) had a different type of writing in it and she "could not do any better than that price". $45 At a thrift store?! Stained jeans!!!! To top it off, There was nothing different about this tag from the ones on the other items! I didn't want to argue so I told her to forget it and left that item. Bought the rest and came home. About two months ago I went back looking for jackets for another friend who is going on a mission trip and she tried to pull that move again with me! I left allll the items on the counter this time and walked out. The worst part is that this women works for the church too, and my other friend went in about a week after the second issue I had there, and bought a COACH bag and a pair of jeans (same brand as the ones I almost bought, but black and with no stains) and paid half price! She showed me the receipt and it showed the original price and a discount...So this lady picks and chooses based on IDK what...and I HATE to play this card because I generally believe most people are good and decent but to me it did seem as though she treated me differently than she did my other friend, who happens to be white. This place reeks of hypocrisy and I will never give them donations or my hard earned money ever again. They are shady and as far as I am concerned, are a horrible representation of Christian values. Very small thrift store in the outside but it has a nice selection on the inside with very friendly workers. Was a little disappointed that it doesn't follow the usual low price of a thrift store as it seems like everything worth value had been researched and given a higher price tag that make it more of a resale store, not a thrift store, i.e. most make up was about a dollar but the Mary Kay name jumped it to four. This was more of a down for me as I enjoy thrifting for old school and vintage electronics and appliances. Also was handed a pamphlet on a religious festival but that was to be expected. The ladies in here are very nice. The prices are a little high on some things but they have sale days making things a much better deal. Today was 50% off clothing & 25% off everything else. I was looking for vintage ware and vintage style pieces. I found a few. The dress I picked up was on sale for $3 so that is killer;however, they have a $5 credit/debit card minimum so I had to buy more... Shucks ;) I will be back again. read more

Trying to donate to these people is a colossal and unnecessary hassle. I'm moving out of state and need to get rid of everything in a few days. I tried to schedule a pick-up from these people, but the woman who answers the phone is unbelievably snooty and superior. You have to give her details of everything you are wanting to donate. I've never heard of a thrift store who asks how old your BRAND NEW couch is, what condition it's in, etc, before they will even schedule to send someone out to you. If that isn't bad enough, this snoobish woman actually wanted to schedule a time for her to come out and inspect everything before she would even tell us when she could schedule her guys to pick it up! What a fool. She lost out on my brand-new $350 dual reclining sofa, brand new, $400 chairs, lamps, pictures, rugs, wood drawers, $150 cat tree, luggage, and about 15 boxes of miscellaneous. And no, madam, there wasn't any stains, rips, tears, or animal hair on them! Sheesh. It's clear these people aren't in the business of helping people, as you would expect from a thrift store claiming to be working in Christ's name. They are in the business of making money. And this is perhaps why their items are so outrageously expensive. I had wanted all the wonderful things I'm having to leave behind to have some meaning and help some poor soul who is truly in need. Don't U-turn for this thrift store. Keep right on going to a place that actually helps people. read more

This is a small thrift store in a western-themed strip mall that might not even catch your eye from the outside, but step inside and you will be pleasantly surprised! They are well-organized, clean, have reasonable prices and I find something every time I go there. They have a lot of housewares (some vintage), clothing of all kinds, records, books, etc. The staff is friendly and helpful. They even run a little coffee shop in the parking lot. All proceeds go to the U-turn for Christ residential drug and alcohol program so you can feel good about finding bargains! read more
