The folks here are friendly and you can tell they are knowledgeable and love the industry. I randomly stumbled across this place when I was grabbing lunch in the area on my break. I can't speak to much on the value because I was just going in to take a look at the time (and didn't purchase anything on that particular visit), but from the price tags, everything that I saw seemed very reasonable. This is the type of place that I would have spent a lot of my paper route or minimum wages I earned when I was a kid. I probably would have spent hours here and been here all the time if this place was near me growing up. If you are into comic books and related collectibles, this place is an absolute gem.

Comic Stronghold is a son Gavin, and a Mom Trish and Pop operation. They carry all the current comics, from Patrick Horvath's Beneath the Trees, to all the new Marvel & DC titles. They even have a comfy reading area. Gavin knows his titles and is great with service and offering value to the buyer. For instance, his Ashcans are free and he has set up a table with free posters. Wow. Nice.

Up front is random games and comics. It's nice looking for what was once a sort of army paraphernalia room of an antique store. Now more of a Starbase like its name. The focus appears to be comics and graphic novels. A lot of stores around end up being mostly collectibles, games, and comic memorabilia but do not offer as extensive collections of actual comics. So this store does not disappoint! The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. The only thing they're missing is a store cat (something I've noticed lots of used bookstores seem to have).

Good selection of the big name newer stuff, and lots of up and coming indies. Great atmosphere and just a pleasant place to look around and decide what you want to read next. I decided to bump this up to 5 stars though because the employees are so great. Mal, Miguel, Cy, and Logan are always super pleasant and friendly. They give good recommendations and are extremely helpful. I still wish they had a dollar bin. However I feel lucky to have such a nice shop near by full of great people.

My son made a beeline for the Spider‑Man section like it was calling his name. My daughter, who has zero interest in comics, appreciated that they also sell books, tees, Funko Pops, and other merch so she didn't have to pretend to care about Peter Parker's problems. Checkout was smooth, and the cashier immediately pitched their membership program. Totally fine, it's a one‑time fee, not a monthly situation but we're just not ready to invest in that level of comic commitment yet. Prices were reasonable: about seven bucks for most issues and one $35 comic my son proudly bought with his own money. I let him live his best life. The plot twist came a week later when he sat down to read everything... and realized he accidentally bought three copies of the same comic because the covers were different. Variant covers: 1. Newbies: 0. A tiny heads‑up from the cashier would've saved us from the accidental collector's edition starter pack. All that said, the store is clean, cool, and has the exact comic‑shop vibe you expect. We'll definitely be back, just with a little more research and maybe a checklist so we don't accidentally buy the trilogy of the same issue again.
