This place is perfect! The staff is friendly and efficient, and anyone who walks by the table asks if you need anything. They offer beer, cider, and meades as well as a list of recommended ways to mix them. They have tons of seating inside and a large patio full of tables, creating an open and relaxed atmosphere. The food is perfect! Everything we had from beer, appetizers to meal was delicious. They have a large parking lot and are family-friendly . Definitely stop in if you are in the area. While having dinner in the area, I drove past Buzzed Viking and was immediately intrigued mostly because of the name, but also because I love trying new breweries. I was told that the original location is in Concord, and later found out that they don't just brew beer, but also mead! We came in on a Friday night after dinner and it was lively but not over crowded with a performer up on stage playing guitar and singing some classics. In addition to their beer and mead, they have a list of creative cocktails as well as a food menu. The food coming out looked great! If we weren't full from dinner we would have surely indulged. Overall the vibe isn't typical for a brewery and feels more like a neighborhood pub, they even have arcade games and pool tables, things you're most likely to find at a dive than a micro brewery. I loved the atmosphere and everyone enjoyed their beverages. They had a cheer wine cider that was especially tasty. Stopped in to grab dinner on the way home after hiking. We've been to the Concord location multiple times and decided to check out this location. It definitely has a different vibe. There was live music when we went and some excellent people watching. We sat right at the bar and enjoyed a couple of their different beers, they had a lot of variety on tap. We started with the cheese curds which were excellent and I had the BLT. My husband got the bison burger which he thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, if we're back in the area I'd stop in again. read more

Buzzed Viking Brewing Locust update Absolutely terrible tonight. This was strike 3. I ordered the $19 burger and Brussels. The burger was Grey and slimey (reminded me of a burger from school in 1994) and the Brussels were greasy and unseasoned. My wife ordered the tot bowl and I can guarantee the chili on top was canned hormel. No servers and you have to order and pay at the bar. No one checked on us. We have been 2 previous times and this was the worst of 3 bad experiences. It's no wonder why they have changed management and menus so many times since opening. We will NOT give this another chance. We stopped by on our way home from Charlotte on a Sunday afternoon. Beers and ciders were all great. Ask about the secret menu which is mainly mixes of certain brews. I mixed their Mon Cheri cherry cider one of their dark lagers and it was a great chocolate cherry combo. Our bar tender was super sweet and attentive. The sampler had all the fried pub fair you could want. The wings were naked which allowed for straight forward dipping. Although the bacon jam was so good I wish the wings had been coated in it. Being based in Atlanta, we had the occasion of celebrating a family event in Pinehurst, NC this past weekend and happened upon Buzzed Viking on our drive East handmade plans to breakup our drive home on Sunday (yesterday) to break up the trip and grab a beer (and maybe some swag for the collection). As I pulled in and parked there were several cars there so that was a welcome sight as we headed toward the front door. Loud music led the way to where I saw multiple signs that said tables were available, but all service was hosted from the bar. It turned out the loud music was a live musician playing guitar and the volume was almost deafening and adjacent to the front door. The tasting room itself was very, very dark. We ventured to the bar where a couple were sitting and watching the TV while the single barkeep was holding the remote and scanning stations. We were not acknowledged and we were a party of four (4). In very short order, a fifth showed up and still no acknowledgement. If I were the couple sitting at the bar, I would have said, "help these people out and we'll decide on the channel", but that didn't happen. I scanned the beer menu and decided upon my order, a single "STUD-wizer" and said the same to my wife within two feet of her ear no less than three times before she turned to me, agitated, and said, "Order me a water, I cannot hear a thing you said, I'll be outside". I can understand why the other patrons at the brewery were outside with the deafening noise from the artist. I decided right there and then that we were all leaving without so much as saying "hi" to the bartender. We waited almost two minutes and we were ignored. The music was too loud, the service was unbelievably absent, and the beer well that may have to wait for the next trip, if it even happens. I will say that I make it a point to visit local breweries wherever I travel as I love to support the local craft brewers wherever they set up shop. I have over 3k check-ins on another social media app that's a platform for beer specifically. This was by far the absolute WORST experience I have ever had at a brewery. I think the owner should invest in some training and give consideration to establishing some policies and protocols at the venue to make it more appealing to a wider audience. I'm quite confident that our drinks and purchases from four beer lovers would have eclipsed whatever was spent at the bar for the two patrons that had set up shop. That is money lost. read more

Very much so loved this place! Went here with my mom one night just to try it out. Really cool decor, a nice-sized beer menu, and some delicious and unique appetizers! There was live music the night we went and it was pretty loud, but it was fun and that's the kind of vibe this place gives. Chill, yet fun! A great little spot to grab a bite, a drink, and listen to some local music! Highly recommend. The waiter was also very helpful in helping us pick out the best beer for our taste and preference! This is my favorite place in town to come grab a beer. It's super lowkey and a seat yourself place. Love that. Super friendly bartenders, food is amazingggg, and the beers are so good. The tap is constantly rotating as well so you always have something new to try. Ashlyn, Cam, Hannah, Julie, and Kristin have all served me and I have zero complaints. They always go above and beyond and are super attentive. The locust hot fries are my favorite. Also, they have lots of events through out the week. The patio is really nice to sit on when it's cool. Buzzed Viking Brewing Locust What has happened to Buzzed Viking, this was supposed to be a great thing for Locust and the surrounding area? Tonight we decided to give a try again. Out of the 4 times we have been, only once was it worth taking about. Tonight, the 4th time, sealed the deal. We arrive and enter the restaurant to see that there is no longer table service, everything is ordered at the bar, so we are greeted by the bartender. We look and the menu and see things crossed off, one being the reason my wife goes there the Ahi tuna. We decide that we are still going to eat there, we like mead. We asked about the mead and were told that they were all out, isn't that supposed to be their thing, Buzzed Viking, according to the business? Bummed we decided to try the beer, the bartender was really nice and let us try. We then order our appetizers and food. We then go to our table. 25 minutes later all our food comes out at one time, the bartender apologized, we didn't care about that. This is where it all went wrong. The appetizers were hot and the food was warm or cold. My wife ordered the Thunder Balls and truffle fries. I ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes. We begin to eat and my wife said her food was cold, but she as always doesn't want to make a scene. She then goes to eat a " truffle fries" and says these do not taste like they have truffle oil on them. They were seasoned fries. My potatoes were cold in the center and the meatloaf was only like warm on the inside. My wife waits till the bartender comes by and asks if the fries had truffle oil in them and that her Thunder Balls were not hot. The bartender apologized and said I'm sorry let me fix that and took the food back. Fast forward 5 minutes later and James the " manager" comes and slams the new food on the table and stomps away. We sit there and look at each other in amazement of the disregard of professionalism. James walked to the back by the kitchen stands glaring, puffing on a vape at the kitchen door. My wife gets up and goes over and proceeds to ask why he acted in such a manner. His response was that he doesn't like for people to disrespect his staff. She asked how she disrespected anyone and asked for him to let her explain what happened. He continued puff his vape and be increasingly rude to her. Then says he will pay for the meal. We asked the bartender if she told him she was disrespectful and she said she just said the food was wrong. We still have no idea how asking a question about the wrong fries and cold food made us disrespectful or how it was ok to treat someone this way in a business. read more

Hate to do it but I gotta keep my reviews consistent. As much as I wanted this location to rise above the miasma that is the Locust food scene, Buzzed Viking slid back into the Locust curse. Half of what we tried to order they were out of and the half that came wasn't good. The burger was gamey and the shrimp were freezer burnt. I can't even say stop by the bar for a beer. I think our server actually felt sorry for us as he tried to apologize for what he was bringing but it's not his fault. If items like the ribs work so well in Concord, why wouldn't you bring it to your new location? They will probably survive because of the aforementioned Locust restaurant options but I will not be back. read more

We stopped in the Buzzed Viking (locust) over the weekend. We enjoyed the beer, food, live music and the staff. I had two of their Hazy IPAs and liked them both. Sat at the bar for a good 10 minutes and was never acknowledged. There were only 5 other people and it was not super busy. No one ever said "someone will be with you in a minute" The waitress was working the register right in front of us and having a great conversation with the folks sitting beside us. The other gentleman working behind the bar did a great job cleaning up after the people who had left, walked past us numerous times and never even once looked in our direction. We decided that this wasn't going to be a good night so we rolled out and headed up to the Concord location because we know without a doubt that if "Sparkles" is working, she will be taking our order before we even sit down at the bar. I've not been to many brewery's, buzzed Viking in Locust is one of the best, haven't tried the other location. Lots of different drinks to try from including mead, and loads of good food to choose from, there's definitely something for everyone to like here. That also includes the service, which is top notch thanks to Ashlyn, Kristin, Cam, Hannah, and Julie, which have all kindly served me with no issues. The pretzel bites are my go to, and the beer cheese that comes with it is amazing. If your in the area it's definitely worth a try! read more

Locust is so desperate for restaurants that if you serve it, they will come. This place has an ok beer selection. I have to admit the pilsner is great! The food? Well, I had meatballs with corn bread sticks. The corn bread was a joke. The meat balls tasted like something out of a box. French fries are pretty good, and I was told the burgers weren't bad. They are short on staff, so service was slow. I personally have no desire to return. read more

The onion rings were on point. The price was not bad. The decor was cute. Cons: Instead of fries, we got mashed potatoes (which were gummy and goopy at the same time). Happily, Josh fixed that right away. The Reuben was worse than what you would get at Arby's. The meat had that "refrigerator odor" taste from being in the walk-in too long. And if you put a grilled sandwich directly on a metal plate, it will immediately become soggy. The tea was lukewarm. But the worst part was the loud drunk at the bar (at 5:00). I get that it's a brewery - but in an open setting like this when someone is yelling and drunk it is really unpleasant. first of all, we tried this place before right after their opening, was not impressed but one of my favorite musicians was playing so we thought we would try again. Bad mistake! We sat at bar, was basically ignored. How can you receive bad service at a small bar? Bartender extremely unfriendly, we had to flag her down for everything. Ordered wings (2 flavors) and Locust Frys. Wings had good flavor but barely warm. Locust Fries were ice cold. Had to go search for our own napkins and silverware. Really!!! The place was not busy, about 4 other people at bar and maybe people at 6 tables. And now I know why. Giving 2 stars bc music was good and beer was cold. But save your money and eat somewhere else. I've been going to the locust location since they opened and went to Concord before that. Bit rocky in the beginning but that is normal. It got a lot better. Food is great. Service is amazing. But there is one big reason why me and my friends/family/coworkers kept coming back: Ethan. My wife and me have been in the service industry for 16 years and its important to have someone that makes you feel at home. Ethan always did this. Wrong food? Fixed it. Bad beer? Fixed it. He always asked how my sick mother was doing and even made my teenagers want to come back. He's going to hate me for posting this but oh well. Guess it is time to go back to the other brewery cause we will not go back to this one read more

It took over 40 minutes for us to get our drinks, On top of a kids drink took another 15 minutes after the original drinks came out. The food came out completely cold and had to stand up front by the bar for a solid 5 minutes for anyone to even come out the kitchen to approach me. The staff definitely gets 5 stars! They are very attentive and personable. The first time we went was for lunch. My wife had the Mongolian Chicken sandwich and had the turkey wrap. The turkey looked very processed and had no flavor. The flavor on the Mongolian was very good. However, the menu said it came with ginger slaw. No slaw, just lettuce. I ordered it the second time we went and still no slaw. You might want to update the menu. I had onion rings both times as sides and they were on point. I said we've been twice. We went back a few days later to meet my son's family for dinner. We had the pretzel bite and cheese sauce. OUTSTANDING! We tried the beer and weren't blown away. Ordered the Valkyrie and it tasted like it had gone bad. IPAs don't taste like that. Staff was truly understanding and allowed us a repour of something else. One of my initial choices was out so I had the Irish Red. It was okay but not great. We'll go back and try again and hopefully get a beer that really hooks me.
