Contacted Uzak today for our LG washing machine. This past week, it's been having trouble draining and stops with an error code. I YouTubed it and followed the quick steps to fix; ie clean out the filter and check the drain tube. My filter was clean I try to clean it monthly. He responded quickly and had a few daytime availabilities but I couldn't leave the office. He contacted me in the early evening as he had a cancellation and arrived in 30 mins. I explained the issue and we rain some diagnostics/cycles and felt the pump was going bad. So I authorized the replacement which was $217 and he had the parts on hand. I went downstairs to talk to my wife and went up a few mins later and he found a candy wrapper deep in the filter cavity. Thankful that he checked before just replacing and also thankful that he's honest because he could've just replaced it and made much more money. I paid him a nominal fee to diagnose and am relieved. My Sub-Zero freezer was not getting cold enough and I had a different appliance service attempt the repair and told me it needed a new compressor and evaporator which would cost $3,500-$5,000. I called Odell for a second opinion and he said I only needed a new temperature sensor. It took him several hours to defrost all the ice buildup, diagnose the problem and install the sensor. Two stars -- I've experienced better. Not quite sure how there are so many great reviews. When we first called, we were put off by Odell's rude gruff demeanor on the phone, however the local 'neighborhood' web site members had recommended him (As well as Yelp) and he was able to come out the next day, so we decided to give him a try. His personality did not improve on arrival. I'm not saying he doesn't know his stuff and his call-out price was $30 less than a prior appliance person we'd used, but I found his gruff personality completely off-putting. At one point as he struggled pulling out the appliance, I asked if he wanted help and he point blank ignored me. Ultimately, he told us that the issue we had enabled us to have the appliance fixed under manufacturer warranty, but that he would also recommend buying an entire new appliance. The appliance is not very old, so we went the warranty route. We were at least grateful for that guidance, however due to his total lack of personableness I would not call him again. The manufacturer fixed the appliance in less than 45 minutes and did not recommend buying a new one. Note: Uzak Appliance conveniently takes credit cards. read more

Odel is the best! He has helped me on multiple occasions and he's always prompt to answer or return my calls and his prices are reasonable. I first met him 3 years ago when I needed my brand new dishwasher fixed because my kid ran into the door when it was open for loading and bent the hinges. Odel took the washer to his shop, replaced the hinges, straightened the door and tested it to make sure there were no leaks. It still works great! Two months ago I had a Viking 48" fridge that would not cool and the Viking service people were from OC and wanted to charge a big fee just to come out. Odel came out again with his brother and searched for the Freon leak, fixed the copper line by replacing it and a few faulty valves and then tested it to be sure it would hold pressure. Then he charged it with Freon and it worked great. Saved me money again! Over the weekend, my Samsung dryer stopped spinning. Called Odel and he said it sounds like the belt is broken. He came out within a few hours of my call, opened the top of the dryer and sure enough the belt was broken and had fallen into the dryer. He checked and called to see if the part was available and drove to get it then returned to install the belt. I also mentioned that the dryer (6 years old) would take up to 3-4 hours to dry clothes....he said there is probably lint in the lines and vents. I paid him to do a cleaning service on that and replace the belt. Took a little over an hour and now dryer is back to top shape. Apparently you have to service the dryer once every 4 years. We have 4 kids and do about 12-15 loads of laundry per month...so it was overdue. Check out pic before. Odel was great again! Don't hesitate to call him. It seems he can fix anything! All brands and appliances. I took the time to do this review because he's great and deserves all his success. I found this company through community Facebook group they responded very quickly came out the next day our dryer had stopped working. The gentleman was on time confirm their appointment. He fixed the Dryer in about 15 minutes it was some sensor or something and then he was done. His English was poor he was unable to explain to me what caused the problem. And I was surprised to see that the bill was $175 much more than I had expected and paid with other appliance repair companies. $175 for 15 minutes work seems like I over paid at least that's how I feel.He also push very hard for cash payment but they allowed me to pay with credit card. Unfortunately, it was very unpleasant working with with this business. The technician was very rude and unprofessional. Prices were high. It turned out ~$200/hr. If the work is simple to fix in 5-10 minutes, cost is $100 to $200 for complicated and longer work, it would be more than your machine price. He even used words like "I hate when people do that". Just can't say enough about these guys and their commitment to service, Wow! I have a rental property in El Cajon and for some reason the tenant said the heater wasn't working correctly, well it wouldn't light. At first my wife suggested we call the plumber who had installed the heater a year ago and have him look at it. I said heck no lets give the Uzak boys a call and see what they come up with. Well they drove all the way out to El Cajon and found out that my tenant didn't know how to properly light the pilot light, within five minutes the problem was solved! Way to Go Team Uzak! UPDATE: This company will be our go-to company forever. They removed every kitchen appliance and installed all new appliances. I've already referred them to two people for future reference. They are punctual, communicate well about the job, meticulous, and they are obviously experts at their job. They are also fairly priced. In fact, I thought they under-charged us for the massive amount of work they did. My husband and I will hire them again in the future if the need arises. Very impressed so far. Odell came out to our house late this evening to measure our kitchen prior to installing new appliances next week. He took his time to work with us to read the specifications of our new appliances. Had him come once to fix the dishwasher, which he did and even though he wasn't particularly friendly, the job was done and he had good reviews. When our air conditioning broke, we found out he fixes those too so we had him come out on July 13th at which point he diagnosed that the tube that is over top of the condensation pan was leaking and the assembly needed replacement. He told us he would order the part and fix it once in. Two hot weeks later, I called to check and unapologetically he said he had had an accident with his phone, and had lost all the contact info. He told me he could come in 3 days but it would have to be at either 8 or 9 in the morning or else it would be too hot. I told him 9am would work. At 9:30 that morning, when he still wasn't there, I texted him to ask him what his estimated time of arrival would be. No response. At 10:15 we went out as we didn't think he was coming and had things to do. At 10:30 he called and asked if we were home. When I told him we were not, and that we would be back by noon, he seemed upset and said that this job would take 4 to 5 hours and hung up. That was the last we heard from him in the middle of a heatwave. Obviously do not recommend. read more

Odel did a great job! I have an old wall furnace and it had stopped working. He had to come out a few times to get it to work permanently. In his defense it was working every time he left my house. It had a difficult issue to pinpoint, but he kept at it until he got it to work. It is definitely an older style heater. 2 other people tried fixing it and failed. He is very busy so he may take a day or 2 to get back to you, but it's worth it. I will definitely use him again in the future. His prices are fair and his hours are flexible. My refrigerator broke. Called Uzak Appl., they got me on schedule same day, in fact, time frame was the best (12-2 pm), comparing to other companies (6-8 hr windows). Technician pulled my refrigerator out, it took him 5 min to diagnose the problem. He said *you have issue with defrost * Quoted me $267, to replace control board including labor. I went with it. Got my refrigerator running in 2:30 hrs, and my food did not spoil :D !!! Then i went online to check on the control board. Online price for my board was $156.24 +TAX+ &15 shipping, that was cheapest *google* could find! Fastest delivery would be 2-3 business days! OMG! Discovered an issue with my refrigerator this morning. Two technicians from the company were out at my house a few hours later. They diagnosed the issue (a result of operator error - a door left slightly ajar that caused ice to form and the compressor unable to cool the fridge & freezer) quickly. They said just to unplug the unit for a few hours, let the ice inside melt away, and restore everything. They wouldn't even charge me for the visit although could have (and should have). Uzak Appliances came out to install a refrigerator on the same day I called, and on the Monday before Fourth of July, no less, when most other businesses I've called either aren't even open or aren't available until Wednesday. Odell and his colleague was friendly and professional and did the job quickly. Odell even gave us a tip on taking care of the fridge without being asked. Really want to give them a 5*, and would have, until I saw a small dent on the side of one of the fridge doors :(. I was too happy to have the fridge installed in its admittedly tight space after about a month of wrangling with a nightmare kitchen contractor, that I didn't even notice the dent after they left. I can live with it, so 4* it is. Still willing to do business with them again, if/when we have issues with appliances. I have a refrigerator that had gotten really noisey. The noise was coming from the fan in the freezer compartment. Odell quickly confirmed the fan was the problem. He had to order a new fan, then came back to install it. The service was quick and the price was reasonable since he had to make two trips. In the first 3, he did everything he could to diagnose and help me fix the issue I was having with my clothes washing machine without having to come out, and without me having spend a dime. I was skeptical at first...sometimes life can be cut-throat in some areas of the world and a culture of deceit is often established to survive...and it carries over to contractors who come here from abroad. I've been told the most outlandish boldface lies by some. Anyway, there is NONE of that with Odell Uzak, so maybe that says good things about where/how he grew up. This guy is HONEST. He KNOWS his stuff. He FOLLOWS UP. He DOES NOT GOUGE. He has QUALITY diagnostic tools. I called several others about a 10 year old refrigerator. I wanted to get a feel on whether it was worth it to fix it or just get a new one. Everyone gave me the run around. They wanted high dollar service call fees before they could tell me anything. Not Odell. Over the phone I asked to give me a ball park estimate so I could determine whether it was worth it. He had me describe the symptoms, and told me what could be wrong and how much it would cost depending on the which was the culprit. He charged next to nothing for a service call so I was hooked. He came out, was very through in his inspection, replaced the part and got it working. But that is not all. Then he said he would come back in a couple of hours to VERIFY the fridge was cooling due to its age. He came back, there was no problems, and the fridge was working great. Also, he DID NOT COLLECT HIS MONEY UNTIL HE CAME BACK!!!! Anyway, he saved me the cost and hassle of a new fridge. I thought with all reviews being 5 star they were probably "shills". They are not.
