I tried to use this service but no one would answer the phone for a long time. When the driver James showed up, I felt like he was on drugs. I did not feel safe. He drove crazy and seemed more like an angry New York taxicab Driver. His attitude was get in get out. He even played with his phone when driving. I will never use this service ever again. I booked a one way ride from La Quinta to Pasadena for a wedding. Making the reservation was super simple and the price was competitive with other places. The lady who made the reservation was very accommodating and precise. My driver showed up a few minutes earlier than expected and texted on arrival so coordination was simple. He was very professional and knew the route by memory and we got to skip a lot of traffic. He was very friendly and we had lots of good conversations. I made it there in 2 hours!! I called VIP service the morning of my flight because of a last minute change in a ride to the airport. They responded promptly via phone, confirmed the pickup via email. My driver arrived 15" early. This is the 3rd time I have used VIP Express Transportation and each time has been fabulous. Punctual, courteous, genuine and kind. My flight had to make an emergency medical landing. As soon as I was on the ground in the diverted city, a representative called to say that they were aware and would stay on top of my revised arrival at my final destination. (They also called my husband who booked the service to say they were on top of it.) I landed at my final destination and there they were - punctual as always. These guys are top notch. GREAT EXPERIENCE! We flew down from Northern California to stay in Palm Desert for our first time attending the music festival at Coachella, not knowing what to expect but had heard the stories about the crowds, the parking situation, & decided to hire a car. V.I.P. was prompt, the car was clean, the driver was courteous - we were most pleased - & what a relief it was to sit down finally after having to fight our way out of the "corals" that fenced us back & the chain-link holding pens that they marched us & the hordes of people through, just to get out of there! It was the only car service that responded to our inquiry, AND provided a quote for our trips, ALL via text (SMS) - which was very convenient, & much appreciated by us. The concerts were great, I think Goldenvoice (& whomever their 3 parties are that they contract with) have room for improvement when it comes to managing the mobs afterward, & the confusion faced with parking, the street closures, that resulted in bottlenecks & frustration on the part of many. We were moving to Thailand from the Palm Desert area, with five large suitcases, three smaller bags, and two pet carriers. I had rented a one way cargo van, but just for fun I got a quote from VIP. I was pleasantly surprised by the cost, and immediately booked with VIP and cancelled the van rental. On day of departure, the driver was right on time, actually a little early. The drive to LAX was very smooth and no stress. When arriving at the crowded terminal, the driver helped getting all bags curbside. I used this service on a recent visit to Palm Springs. I was quoted a price on phone then was charged more upon drop off than originally quoted. The driver James was very unprofessional, the vehicle was poorly kept and smelled of body odor. Also what kind of driver texts on phone while driving with clients in car. Avoid this service. As with other negative reviews I'm sure this individual will say we never used his service as he does with all negative reviews. To start out he was almost 30 minutes late and wasn't answering the phone. Then the SUV was dirty inside and out and reeked of body odor. First, the car pulled in at a PERFECT 6:30am. Even though I wasn't ready, the owner-operator James waived the idle fees that he could have rightfully charged me. I even said it was no problem to pay and he politely declined because he really does put great service above everything else. Then, halfway to LAX, I realized that I still had the key to my rental car. Due to several other factors, I was looking at a VERY hefty fee if i couldn't find a way to get the keys back. James offered to take it back for FREE. I did end up paying him to do it because I felt that he deserved it, but he really did just want to help me out. Then, for my peace of mind, he texted me a picture of him handing the keys to the Hertz agent to let me know everything was OK. This company offers a great value and takes care of their clients like no business I have come in contact with. I had a unique situation happen over the weekend where the woman I work for was out in Rancho Mirage and got sick - enough to the point where she needed to come back to Los Angeles, but she couldn't drive her car. We needed someone to head out to her home, pick up her car, and drive her back to LA. I explained the situation over the phone and both James and Katherine were SO helpful in getting everything taken care of. Not to mention their amount of patience, as I was having trouble with a credit card that kept declining. They played a huge part in getting my boss safely back to LA.
