I have been a fan of V Pizza for quite some time. My friends and I have been here over the past few years and have always wanted to come back. When my roommate and I came today, we were told we would be sat in 15 minutes. We sat the bar to wait and were sat 30 minutes later. Our server "reiterated" that there was a wait on the food, but we were unsure what she was talking about. Our server continued to make comments during our dining service that ended up being confusing and/ or not true. We then ordered an appetizer. The bruschetta came out with bread that was severely undercooked. We felt like we were eating raw dough. We then waited about 40 minutes to order our pizzas. We were told that the cauliflower crust would be a "personal size." When they came out, they were big enough for us to split just one. The really unfortunate part though, was that the crust was burnt, similar to the color of the coal you would receive from Santa Clause when you have not behaved as you should have. We did not complain at the restaurant because we knew they were backed up (?) , but we were surprised that a place this popular would give us our pizzas at this state given how unsavory the crust looked. I am reluctant to post this due to my great past experiences at this establishment, however I needed to express my opinions of this subpar experience. I don't want people to be turned off by this establishment, rather the place itself become aware of this unfortunate encounter. I tried V pizza one night and I was impressed how great the pizzas were. We had ordered the Pizza Quattro Formaggi and I thought it was amazing. I am a sucker for any types of pizza wit ricotta cheese and I loved how much ricotta they had on the pizza. We had also ordered the Pizza Mac Attack and there was so much flavors it was amazing. Had lunch here on Thursday afternoon. The place was fairly empty, but we still sat outside. Our pizza was delicious, served promptly even outside. If COVID and the blasting cold air conditioning weren't an issue, I would have like to sit and admire the interior of this place. The bar area is really beautiful. V Pizza has stole my heart and easily become one of my favorite spots to eat. The energy here is amazing and the staff and management are fantastic! Their wood oven roasted wings are the BEST that I've ever had and are the main reason my boyfriend and I keep going back. The food is prepared in a 1000 degree brick oven which means we never have to wait long for our food to be served. Seems like everything cooks in minutes. We've also tried the Mac and cheese, meatballs, and cannoli... each nothing short of amazing! If we had one request it would be to add the Exec Chefs buffalo wing special to the permanent menu. I'm a regular at the location in Neptune Beach. No location is designed the same and this one has more of a bar feel to it. They did allow dogs which you would think the beach location would do. I was very happy to see a puppy enjoying a meal outside with their family. The Mac and cheese is just a side dish, but it was the stand out feature for me. Who wouldn't love Gouda and white cheese smothered in delicious noodles? They turned this classic dish into something more upscale. The addition of the pesto was something I particularly loved. Great for happy hour that starts at 3 pm. Nice selection of wine and spirits from sidebar. A must is their chicken wings. Nice onions smothered with seasoning. After reading great reviews of V Pizza here in Jax, I decided to give them a try while I was in Gainesville recently. They're located right in the heart of downtown - great location. Parking can be hard to find, but there's a public garage close by. The interior is very industrial & modern. There is a large bar (Sidecar) located on one side with plenty of seating. Their cocktail menu looked very inviting! Our server was very attentive, our salads were delicious - the only thing wrong was the pizza. What should have been the star of the night - was not quite up to par. I love thin crust pizza, but this crust had no bite at all. It flopped over when I tried to pick it up. Toppings were sparse - I counted 6 mushroom pieces on the entire pizza. The cheese & sauce were good - so the pie wasn't a total loss. read more

This place is great!! Awesome location and absolutely phenomenal cocktails. They are a little pricier, but you definitely get a well made drink for the price. I am in town for work and ordered one of their Pizza Carnivora to go. I took it back to my hotel room and found a cockroach sitting under one of the slices of the pizza. I am assuming it was baked into the crust as it was between the paper lining and the crust. I called them and demanded a refund. The manager I spoke with apologized and explained they have never had a bug problem before. She refunded my money and offered to make me another pizza, but I declined as I lost all trust in this place. Manager also offered a gift card, but once again I declined, as I will never order food from this place again. Went here over lunch the other day and got really, really slow service but the food was amazing as always. I only saw one person in the kitchen and one girl serving tables. In our time here, I heard the phone constantly as no one was picking it up and we, along with most of the others I saw walk in, waited at the front door for an unreasonable amount of time. I would have understood if I'd seen anyone picking up the pace, but to be honest, everyone in the restaurant acted as though it was a lazy Sunday with no regard to lunch hour which I'm assuming a large portion of their customers are on at that time on a weekday. I'm handicapped and disabled. I just had the rudest experience from the bartender. He gave me attitude the moment I sat down. His bar back took care of me. Wiped my place down that was dirty, while the bartender continuesd to be extremely rude to me and other guest. I asked for his name and he would not give it to me. I asked the manager for his name and he refused to give it to me. So I walked out. I would never go back or recommend this restaurant. Two big thumbs down!!! I went back in to try the food and sit at a table to see if the experience would be any better and if the manager would do something about how rude his bartender was to me. So the wings were great. The server was great. The manager on the other hand didn't care and in fact said he laughed at the review I left about his bartender being rude to me because I am handicapped. So if you go, I would sit at a table and avoid the bartender and management at all costs. Also since management is not competent enough to resolve this issue. Whoever is above management, maybe the owner needs to address this matter in my opinion. It really made me feel uncomfortable as a handicap person and I don't think I will go back after management just basically laughed in my face. I'm extremely upset and disappointed. I feel made fun of for my disability. This is not how disabled people should be treated!! I also have 20 years of restaurant experience. Everything from a bartender, server, bar manager, front of house manager. I have been at places for 10 years, 7 years, and 6 years at another. I have worked for very successful restaurants that Gross over 8 million a year. All of this before I was recently disabled. So I know a thing or 2 about restaurants. This one has some cleaning house to do in my opinion... Now the owner is lying about what happened to try and cover for his rude staff! Extremely disappointed!! The owner can make up what ever he wants to try to cover up this incident, but unfortunately it happened and he can't own up to it. Walked into this place late last night planning to get a few desserts with the family, but the restaurant smelled so good we had to get dinner too. "This is the best fancy pants pizza in town" says the fiancé. He is more of a delivery and pepperoni pizza kind of guy, so coming from him and that he wants to come back, it's a big compliment. I thought the entire experience was amazing and we will be back again soon. The restaurant is set up the same as the prior pizza restaurant (no affiliation) with booth seating on the left side of the restaurant as you enter and the "Side car", which is an upscale bar, on the right. There is also outside seating which we may try next time. You can hear the Free Friday night music from here. The first thing you notice when walking in after telling the hostess where you'd like to sit are the two large wood fired ovens, front and center. We sat on the Sidecar side which we loved. It's the same as before with a large horse shoe in the center and pub tops around. It has a really nice romantic upscale ambiance. Dan, our bar tender and one of the owners, walked us through menu and new cocktails offered. He also informed us that everything... EVERYTHING is cooked in the wood fired ovens and that there were no grills, convection ovens or other cooking appliances used to cook anything. Drinks: The Lipstick Vogue was my favorite cocktail of the night with a sweet/tart flavor profile mixed with Hendricks Gin. I tried the Spring Affair but it was a little too cucumbery for me. Some may find it pleasing though. They have a pleather a of classic cocktails listed in their leather bound cocktail menu along with pages of whiskey/scotch/bourbon to choose from. They have a nice selection of craft beers on draft and in bottles along with a nice list of wines fitting for restaurant. GET THE WINGS. They are not your typical wings. "Savory" is the word that best describes them. I thought they tasted like Thanksgiving day turkey, but in the form of chicken wings. Moist, juicy, slightly oily with savory herbs like rosemary, sage and thyme. All topped with caramelized onions. Not your typical wings. Pizza: Dan suggested the Margherita pizza to try first to get a feel for the wood fired pizza style but we ended up getting the Carnivora since it had pancetta and soppressata on it. They also make their sauce with san marzano tomatoes, the best tomatoes on earth for making pasta and pizza sauce. We use them at home to make our own pizzas. The pizza was excellent. Crust was perfectly fired with little blisters giving extra flavor to the pizza. Even though it was a "carnivore" pizza, it wasn't heavy or greasy. Had the perfect amount of toppings to crust ratio. Even after sitting in our refrigerator two days... It still tastes better than delivery out there. If you are looking for a more "fancy pants" of a pizza restaurant but still want to dress casual, this is it. Just know they are a little expensive with most cocktails $8-$9 and the pizzas being around $17-$18 each. I'll be back though as it is a great date night spot. read more

You know those strange people who go to a pizza place, but don't order pizza? Yes, this was my friend and I last night for the sole reason that my roommate had mentioned how good V Pizza's wings are. We were not disappointed at all!! I recommend the Calabrian Wings if you want a spicier taste. The rub was delicious with a perfect balance of seasonings. The wings weren't too saucy and instead had a unique paste of olive oil and a variety of spices. Some of the wings might have been a tad bit too fatty and oily. We also ordered the Mac and Cheese, but were unable to eat more than 3 bites after being so full from the wings. As much as I like cheese, this dish felt more like eating melted cheese with the occasional bite of noodle. The restaurant is definitely worth the price. All I had were the CALABRIAN CHICKEN WINGS but man were they good! I got the wings that were cooked in their wood oven with chili peppers and it had a great kick to it but wasn't over the top. I will definitely be eating here again my next trip to Gainesville. Second trip just as successful, wings are still incredible. Had the veloce salad which was a spectacular. Super fresh, heirloom maters, red onion, goat cheese, shrooms, roasted reds and a spot of blue cheese dressing. I also sampled three top shelf bourbon/whiskeys. Their selection is impressive. They have Michters 20 year, you won't find that many places. FYI, it will cost you $60 a pour but that's not overpriced...trust me. read more

This restaurant is very nice on the inside with booths and tables, along with a bar that has many televisions so you can watch sports while eating. We ended up ordering three pizzas (there was 5 of us) and we did not realize how large the pies would be!! We ordered the Pizza Vegeteriana, Pizza Carnivora and Pizza Quattro Formaggi. We also ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad which was delicious and fresh. I really liked the Carnivora and Vegeteriana pizzas, but was not a fan of the Quattro Formaggi (four cheese). I think it had a little too much ricotta cheese for my liking. The only reason I would think twice about revisiting this restaurant is because it is a little pricey for pizza at dinnertime.
