I made a last minute reservation pretty easily and it wasn't super busy, we came here on Sunday at 11:30 AM. We did have issues finding parking but it is street parking, not sure if there are any parking garages in the area. The reservation was made for the 1st floor but they didnt have issues moving us to the 2nd floor and it was so cute. There were string lights and good music. I ordered the Rubber Ducky cocktail which was super cute but not super tasty. We did ended up with getting the bottomless $28 cocktail/mimosa. My friend did the espresso martini but it seemed to missing something. The mimosas came with three different juices, orange, strawberry and peach, all delicious. For brunch, I ordered the Brunch Skillet which was delicious and had a very good spice kick. My friend got the 801 Breakfast Sandwich. It looked pretty good. My friend and I came here before a 930 club show for dinner. They had good reviews, but I didn't take a good look at their menu. It's a bit of Mexican food for dinner, along with some other food, which was wonderful. My friend and I shared the roasted cauliflower and steak fajitas. Great experience at 801 - I look forward to coming back! I joined a small group of friends for happy hour on a Friday evening around 5:45. We were strolling along Florida Ave and saw the open rooftop; decided to check it out and I'm so glad we did. This is a three story American style bar and restaurant with fantastic HH deals. We spent our time on the top floor which has it's own bar, covered rooftop area, and a scattering of other seating options around the rooftop's edge. The rooftop coverings and multiple fans kept the area cool even when it was 85+ degrees outside. Their happy hour is fantastic; runs from 4-7 on Monday through Friday. Offers $7 and under bites such as old bay fries, cauiliflour wings, and popcorn chicken. The drinks options include some $7 cocktails such as flavored crushes and $5 rail drinks. We tried the fries, chicken, and cauliflour to snack on while enjoying a variety of the HH drinks. To me, the popcorn chicken stole the show - perfectly seasoned, crispy, and delicious. It also came with a delicious house dipping sauce. Would 100% get it again. Service was fast (even when the rooftop got a little busier as the evening rolled on); we never waiting more than 10-15 seconds it seemed to grab our bartenders attention to drop in an order. And then we got to the top and we were the only ones -- the rooftop is covered, but the sides are open so you can take in the views. It was hot, but they had so many fans blasting it was just fine. We sat at the bar and had a great time. I had the most refreshing tray of roasted cauliflower bites, and my buddy got some scrumptious popcorn chicken. Fries were great too, but those other items were just WOW. Now those are great happy hour bites. The menu is mostly Tex Mex and American, with dishes like tacos and burritos but also burgers and salmon. To drink, we had beer: Right Proper Raised by Wolves ($8) and Modelo ($7). Then we had the Quesabirria Tacos which had two large birria tacos with consomme ($18). And the Chicken Al Pipian, which was two pieces of fried chicken with pipian rojo, spinach, and rice. Pipian sauce was new to me -- it's a Mexican sauce made with pumpkin seeds and dried red chilies. Both entrees were solid. The pipian sauce wasn't spicy, but had a nice, slightly spiced, savory flavor. The rice reminded me of butter rice when I was a kid, which I liked. The fry on the chicken was very good, although the chicken itself could have used some more flavor, either from a brine or from some spices in the fry. My friends and I stayed for the entire 2 hour duration. The staff was accommodating and allowed us to bring our drinks up stairs. The rooftop featured some tvs, shade and bench seating to do some people watching. Overall, the value here cannot be beat. I added bacon cause I love bacon! The place is 3 stories. They put our table outside, so we ended up having to sit at the bar. We would have had to wait another 30 min to move to an inside table. Everything ran smoothly and I had to put down a card to ensure we would arrive for our reservation which is normal. The experience at brunch was ok. The music were all hits (Spice Girls was a great choice ) though sometimes it got too loud so I couldn't even here the others at my table.
