Took my Pfaff 1209 sewing machine in for repair. Free estimate for repairs was much appreciated. Jim knew exactly what was wrong. Unfortunately the fix is expensive as well as time consuming to repair. The cam stack has a crack. He opened the machine so I could see the broken part. First took my newest Bernina sewing machine and today took it out to sew AFTER being serviced. The area of the feed dog and under the sewing plate was full of lint. I would expect that a service would include this area. Before discovering this, I also took an older Bernina in for service. After it was ready for pick-up the owner charged me more for the service on the first machine. As I only had the cash for the cost of the first service, he settled on the lesser amount! Also after finding lint on the first machine I checked the older machine and the same situation was evident. I didn't call as I am sure I would have to return the machine to the store and after thought what benefit would that be to me. Decided to learn my lesson and find another provider. read more

I don't know how this company is still in business. Unbelievably disorganized. No records are done digitally. They repaired my Shark vacuum a couple of times. Ok. Then I brought in my Grandma's Rainbow vacuum. A very expensive vacuum the family had for 20 years. I hadn't heard anything from the business in a couple of months regarding the vacuum.-They had fixed my Shark vacuum several times so I trusted they would have the vacuum in their possession.- Time went by & I honestly forgot about it. But shouldn't they have contacted me when it was fixed??? My husband remembered about it & went in to the store to inquire about it. He was treated as if he was crazy! They had no idea about the vacuum & it was not in their position. How? How does a business lose a customer's item? They had to have fixed it & then sold it. THEY ARE SCAMMERS BEWARE! Took a Vaccum in for repair. I knew it may not be worth repairing if over $100 give or take. I was told there were some other models I could buy and the $15 repair quote would be applied to the new (used) vacuum. I was shown a vaccum that was a "commercial grade" that could be sold to any restaurant or business. I bought the vaccum for $169.00. I was sold as a 'Manta' brand. The vaccum worked OK, very noisy but it was lightweight and I need a vaccum in my business as well as my home. I got online hoping to find the manufactures website for additional cleaning tools for this Manta commercial vaccum. There is no Manta commercial vaccum. There is a brand of pool vaccum called Manta but not for floors. I googled the text on the side of the dust cannister and what came up in my search is a Bissel 1700 model. A vaccum that is available at Walmart for $43 - $47. Www.https://youtu.be/uK0q5FA6YPs Someone had gone to the effort of rubbing off and painting over the Bissel logos and replacing them with craft store stickers. These scammers have probably done this to dozens of people. There were elderly women dropping off their sewing machines that I'm sure were their next scam victims. They know these vulnerable people aren't on the internet and won't question their repairs or being scammed into buying a 'new' machine with fake labels that cost 5x more than it's worth. I was able to reverse the transaction with my bank. The Dyson parts they scammed me out of is worth more than a used cheapo vaccum. The police as well as the FTC and local BBB have been contacted as well as the product brands the represent on their storefront. Also contacted were several quilting groups, Facebook scammer pages and local sellers of sewing machines and vacuums. Do not deal with these crooks. read more

I want to start off by saying how happy I am that a friend recommended Jim. He was super friendly & professional. His prices are great and he fixed my 20+ machine like new. Super fast. Other places quoted weeks out and high prices but Jim took care of my machine. He is extremely knowledgeable and didn't make me feel like an idiot about my machine concerns. I've seen other reviews criticizing his shop appearance and all I can say is that every has their own way of keeping things organized. Don't judge a book by it's cover. I had a machine that I needed to be fixed & Jim did a great job of that. My machine is better then it's even been. Super quite & smooth. Thank you SOOO much Jim. To start with its a vacuume shop and its very dirty try out a vacuume please. The person was rude and did not know the details of products being sold I wanted to purchase a Hoover hardwood floor cleaner and tools and accessories with the hardwood floor cleaner sitting in the shop and was told there were no tool or accessories for the cleaner not he did not have them but that hoover does not make them .. I stated I had done research and had been to the hover web site and they have them and a different store has both but was currently out of stock and would order them for me . My thought was they had the cleaner on their shelf why not get the cleaner and have them order the tool kit .. I was told I was wrong and that he was a busy person and didn't have time to waste turned his back on me and walked away . He was wrong and simply to immature to admit it .. I used to think this guy was nice. I LOVE the Morse Evolution Vacuum Cleaner I bought from him... But when I brought it in to him for a new cord, I begged him to ONLY change it with one of the SAME length or LONGER. He did not phone me when he put a shorter one on, and when I picked it up, he didn't tell me it was shorter. After I got it home I noticed it was shorter. It does not reach as far from the same plug, so I asked him why he didn't put a longer one on. He said, They don't MAKE them any longer... Curious about that, I asked the guy in the McHenry Village Vacuum place. Told him the length of cord this guy installed, and he told me they DO make them longer. read more

Nasty owner!! Rude and abrupt when I wanted to know about vacuums new and used to buy for my daughter. He first did the "demonstration" to sell a new one (a tired and well practiced song and dance routine) then when I wanted to know comparisons to used ones he flipped out and became rude, telling me to "come back when you can afford one!" Total crook. I was walking past the store and noticed a used dyson in the window. I went inside and talked to the guy there. I asked if I could plug it in and try it out, sure!!... So I'm vacuuming but it's not picking up debris whats on his thin carpet.....I'm like for $125.00 it should work better than that. His reply was it " was" working and took it back to look and see why it wasnt. I told him I had a nail appt next door and I'll be back. 45min later I'm walking by the window and there it is, out for sale again.....OK!!! I go in and ask did you fix it?? He said ya, cool!!, I plug it in and it's still not picking up....UMMMM....WTH???... I asked him why he was trying to sell me a vacuum that doesnt work?? He got an attitude with me, mumbled something, I left and few days later.....I went next door again...and there it was, for sale again. NEVER buy anything without trying it out first......Reply to Jim the owner, Your a liar and I'm shocked your still in business still after what you did.
