We got to VBC at 11:34 am. Door was open so we assumed we could go in to purchase beer to go. The lady at the counter was still opening the register, we asked where the restroom were and she directed us to a sign at the door. We are not from vail, we were driving through going home after a lovely weekend with my dad for fathers. Never been to Colorado and every place I had been to has been very kind and welcoming. The server thought opening umbrellas were more important than selling us been. We wanted to do a transaction and go, she said she wasn't going to be ready for another 15 min when we arrived. We made a quick stop here to try some of their beer. Thankfully they offer flights here which the boyfriend really enjoyed. It was a nice sunny day and they offered both inside and outside seating. Vail needs craft beer and Vail Brewing (appropriately named) is where you can get it. The brewery fits well into the towns vibes. It's craftily decorated with skiing and snowboarding and wood paneling. It's got TVs and plenty of places to sit inside and outside, including a chair lift bench! The beer is good. It's a must try for craft beer lovers and drinkers. A trip to Vail would be incomplete without stopping in! I'm not saying it's the best beer in the state (it's Colorado we're talking about) but it a definitely great! They have some staples they have on draft all the time and they will cycle in some variations and some new brews every so often. Prices are good and their brewery swag is on point. It is my wife and I first time in Vail. We are both beer lovers and when we heard there was a brewery less then a 5 min walk from our hotel needless to say we were very excited. We stopped in and met the bartenders Kevin, Corbin and Arturo. Not only did they have an incredible knowledge of the beer but they had us laughing constantly. They were both very funny and could hold a conversation. We tried all the beers on the menu. I must say all of them were awesome. Each one so different from the other with great flavors. The atmosphere and the beer was great. The bartender was absolutely miserable which was a turn off. This was at 2:45pm on 2/3/22. We were a party of 3: #1 ordered a beer flight, #2 ordered a beer flight, when #3 ordered his beer flight, the bartender said very matter of factly, sorry, we don't have any more containers to put the beer flights in. Effectively, that there were no more beer flights available. #3 suggested, how about if I just carry the 4 flight glasses individually, to which the bartender jolted and sneered. Her mannerisms, tone, and lack of courtesy were irritating and even offensive. In a town of mostly tourists, including us, I would've expected hospitable service. read more

This beer was so good, had me wishing I could take this entire place back home with me to Chicago. The Hazy is a must have, service was great. Our waitress was very professional and conversational, so was the 'guy' sitting at the counter. We felt welcomed and even took a 6-pack of the IPA's home. Neat little brewery. They have indoor and outdoor seating - dog friendly with water bowls outside. They don't serve food, but you can buy assorted bags of chips or bring food in from one of the nearby restaurants. I brought in some pizza I bought down the street. All the beers I tried were very good and faithful to their style. The Contact High Hazy was spot on with a 7% ABV. Pete's Stash Pale Ale was a nice 6% IPAish style beer with Simcoe, chinook, mosaic, and falconers hops. The servers I had were very friendly. They have brewery stickers and some nice shwag - t-shirts, hats, etc. Their crowler cans have a cool design. read more

On my most recent visit to Vail Brewing, three groups of people walked in and asked if the brewery served food. The bartender told them no, but mentioned that they could bring food in (she suggested a couple places). The groups never returned. I asked the bartender how often this situation happened--she said "all the time." These poor, poor people have no idea about what fantastic beers they've passed up! Vail Brewing makes some of the finest IPAs in Colorado. I've had seven different ones over the course of two visits and all of them boast a fantastic, fine-grained texture. Both New England-style IPAs stood out and the Tourist Trap Imperial IPA has been consistently excellent (lots of resin and citrus). A wheat IPA, and a black IPA also were memorable, while a rye IPA was more good than great. Pete's Pale Ale excelled on tap with its dry body and citrusy flavors, but tasted somewhat faded in a can. Likewise, the flagship Gore Creek IPA is vibrant on tap (hop oil and pine flavors), but tastes subdued when canned. If you visit Vail and don't go to Vail Brewing, then clearly you fail to recognize that we're living in the golden age of beer. I've driven two hours from Denver just to go to Vail Brewing--that's how great the IPAs are. read more

This was such a sweet brewery in the heart of Vail, CO. We went twice during our stay in the area. The bartenders were always super nice and let us try samples before committing to a draft. They even recommended different beer combinations like a mix of a Pilsner and the kombucha they brew, which was such a refreshing mix. The front patio with the umbrellas was the perfect spot to enjoy the brews and the views. They patio is dog friendly and so relaxing. Will for sure return next time I'm in town. read more

We went to Vail Brewing Company when visiting Vail with our family from Florida. Our young niece loves breweries so we felt this would be a great place to bring her and her boyfriend. The environment and decor is super trendy and classy. The set up of ordering and paying at the bar and sitting at a table was a bit frustrating. After ordering, we wanted to add another round of beers, but then had to stand in line behind another group again, then when we wanted to add another appetizer... again had to get up and go stand behind another set of people ordering. What would have been an easy $200 bill was only $60. We got annoyed with having to wait in line to order- we didn't have enough time to keep wasting standing in line so we went somewhere else for dinner because of this. Yet to pay the bill... had to stand in line at the bar again- which was an easy 5 min. Yet... you have a waitress. And your supposed to tip her.... The service/ attendance to patrons was very poor however we really enjoyed what we ordered. read more

The bartender had zero knowledge of the beer and told me to order using my gut to find out if I like it. Mean while, in Avon we went to Ein Prosit and Joe was super knowledgeable, and gave suggestions based on what he likes. Very welcoming.
