We were visiting friends in Mrytle Point and decided to attend the the fair and rodeo. My husband…read moreis disabled and they were very accommodating and provided a golf cart to transport us from the handicapped spot in the parking lot to the livestock arena. We were impressed with the friendliness, quality of food available and overall atmosphere. We were at the fair on a Wednesday and went back with friends on Friday night which was a different experience. First of all the parking staff that night was clueless about the golf cart transport and there was NOT enough handicapped parking. No parking at the front of the lot so did a drop off of the the two people in our party at the gate. Parking staff need to better trained! After hiking a long distance entered the grandstand which has only one ramp and found our box seats. The nearest bathrooms were also a hike and terrifying stairs are the nearest way to access them. Seats were great and rodeo was fun but had to hike a long way to get food. Lots of selection to choose from but none of the vendors offered drink holders so had to balance two meals and two drinks while hiking back to seats up the terrifying stairs! Enjoyed our experience at this event and would definitely go back again.

I never got to see the former location mentioned in other reviews, but this warehouse space seems to work well for the large scale sculptures it houses. I couldn't quite grasp what I was seeing at first, but it soon dawns on you that you're looking at carefully assembled plastic debris that takes on a life of its own as a large sea creature. And that debris has been pulled from the ocean. It's a powerful statement as you marvel at these cheerfully colorful creatures. This is a collective of artists, and a very talented one at that. It's amazing to think so many hands work together to bring these cohesive works to life. You can tell it's a real labor of love. There's some nice info boards and literature that lay out their mission, as well as an opportunity to donate money if you choose to do so...they also have a website.
