The course has a really nice layout with some fantastic views, and there were some very fun holes. I'd give the course itself a 4.5/5! The downside to playing here was the service. The lady working the front desk wasn't friendly and wasn't managing the tee times. There was a slight frost delay in the morning, so groups were going out late, but when our twosome went in at our scheduled time to see how much time we had until we teed off, we were told that they weren't basing it on tee times anymore, it was just first-come-first-serve and we should get in line for the tee. The playing experience was slow on the back too--we got stuck behind a sixsome, which the course definitely shouldn't let out. If this course got a starter and a marshall, it's rating would go up. And if the staff members were friendly, Bandon Crossings would have a chance at a 5-star rating.

The family that owns it is so kind and the front staff even remembers my brother-in-law. We stay almost exclusively in the Vern Brown Addition, which has GORGEOUS views of the beach. :) It's also super easy for beach access, with stairs leading down directly to the beach. While Vern Brown is not pet friendly, there are other pet friendly rooms available. Last year, we stayed with our pup and it was so cute to arrive with a couple dog biscuits in the room waiting for her! All in all, this place is a home away from home for my family, and we look forward to many continued Bandon visits at Sunset. :)

I never got to see the former location mentioned in other reviews, but this warehouse space seems to work well for the large scale sculptures it houses. I couldn't quite grasp what I was seeing at first, but it soon dawns on you that you're looking at carefully assembled plastic debris that takes on a life of its own as a large sea creature. And that debris has been pulled from the ocean. It's a powerful statement as you marvel at these cheerfully colorful creatures. This is a collective of artists, and a very talented one at that. It's amazing to think so many hands work together to bring these cohesive works to life. You can tell it's a real labor of love. There's some nice info boards and literature that lay out their mission, as well as an opportunity to donate money if you choose to do so...they also have a website. She and husband Noel worked together on our wedding setup and day-of coordination. Noel was especially helpful for set up and A/V, which was a big relief for us because we did not hire a DJ or MC.
