After looking over a few places, I finally just bit the bullet and came here by Yelp recommendations. I couldn't be more relieved that it worked out. Great friendly staff, immediately see to what you want done and are very patient. I was a little weary about how well my leather jacket would survive the alterations, but they did a wonderful job with it :) Each time took a week exactly, I'm not sure if that changes depending on alterations, materials, etc. For some reason I had expected it to take longer so I'm pretty happy about that. The best tailor I've ever dealt with, in New Haven or anywhere else. Enzo is fantastic, and the quality and prices for his work cannot be beat. I always joke that going to see Enzo is like going to therapy, and I could not be happier with all the work they've done for me. Between buying my wedding dress and my fittings, I lost 20 lbs. The result: a dress that was huge and that I wasn't sure I even LIKED anymore. I brought it in, Enzo and Fabienne looked at it, heard my concerns, and altered my dress into something that was amazing. I had a total of 3 fittings (their standard) to make sure the dress was to my liking. I had the trifecta of seamstress nightmares: lace, beading, and scalloped edges. You would have never been able to tell that the dress was taken apart and put back together again. My MOH (my sister) was so impressed with the care Valentino's took that she decided to bring her bridesmaid dress to get fitted there, as well. After hearing both of us talk about our experiences, my now-husband also decided to have his suit tailored by Enzo. Both of them would give rave reviews, as well. I was looking for the small-town attention and experience, and definitely got it here! Only drawback : cash only. I had a pair of pants hemmed here and they did a very fine job with friendly, no-nonsense, customer service. I appreciate their work and will return for other alterations. I wish they were more convenient to access without a vehicle from downtown, but that is nothing against them. I am getting married in 2 months and brought in my suit for alterations. I found the experience to be efficient, professional, and easy. I told the tailor that I don't have a very good eye for the exact fit of a suit, and he was more than helpful in making sure that I looked good. I just picked up my suit (it's a quick turnaround) and am very pleased with how it looks. The price seemed reasonable to me, and well worth it. I moved to Connecticut about a year ago, and I have been looking for a tailor for the entire time. I tried a couple tailors in Fairfield and have walked away dissatisfied. The work was okay and the prices were OUTRAGEOUS (especially for the quality of work). Well, I read the reviews for Valentino Tailors, and I decided to take a chance. I traveled 45 minutes to reach them, and I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED their work. The interaction was professional. The work was impeccable. The prices were fair. When I picked up my items, they asked me if I wanted to try the items on. I'm always cold, and I'm still not use to this weather. Therefore, I declined. They told me if I have any issues when I get home, please do let them know. I tried the items on when I got home, and there were NO issues. It was pure perfection. Very knowledgeable and professional! I had to get a number of toddler dresses altered for my 2 year old daughter. I didn't want to bring her in to have them decide what needed to be altered for fear of her "2 year old behavior" showing up lol. So, I Pinned where I needed the adjustments on each dress and brought them in. The dresses were ready by the end of the week, and the finished product was perfect!! I didn't have to bring back any of the dresses with any complaints. They did an amazing job! Now I know where to go for perfectly done alterations. read more
