I made a special trip to Valerie's from Orange County today to get refills on my custom foundation and to buy new make up. I went by today Jan 8, 2026 at 2pm. The lights were on in the store but the door was locked. I rang the doorbell several times and called the store serval times over a 5 min period thinking the person may have gone out to lunch. The recorder picked up each time but I was not able to leave a message because the mail box was full. I left and came back at 2:30, thinking maybe the person went out to lunch. I again rang the door bell several times and kept calling the store but no one answered. Finally, at 4 pm a young girl answered the phone but I was on the freeway headed home. I asked her what happened? She offered no reason for the store being locked and no one answering the phone. Valorie once had a thriving business and beautiful store back in the day when on Beverly Drive, but has since moved and down scaled twice and now is in a tiny poorly managed store by young girl who could care less about the company. I got a brow dye and arch and it came out looking like a spotted leopard. This is the most pretentious, overrated, long in the tooth makeup salon. The packaging is gorgeous and because of its location it attracts rich and famous people, but the actual quality of the makeup is questionable. The texture felt like generic your name cosmetics which you can buy and stamp your name on as being original product. I will never shop here again even though some colors are pretty. I can find exact shades elsewhere at a business where the owner of nice and treats clients with respect. When you do a bad job, correct it and don't blame the customer. Valerie is really good. I've only been for brows, but I trust her. I had been going to a few folks at Anastasia for years until everyone there just started overplucking for some reason. Here's the thing. I want to stay loyal to Valerie but I can't. 1) Always keeps me waiting for an appointment (not as bad as Anastasia herself who can make a person wait an hour past the appt time, but with Valerie it's a solid 10-20 minutes every time). 2) Selling makeup at me. Please stop! I'm here for brows. Not to buy pale purple shadow or the outrageously expensive undereye thingees that DO NOT WORK AT ALL. 3) Insulting. She will insult my makeup and tell me I need to buy her line. But here's the thing - the color palettes are just outdated. Not chic. Just. Not. I'm going to try Eugenia at Senna and Kristie Streicher, I guess. I want to just find one brow master and stay loyal forevs! Sadly, it's not Valerie. While getting your eyebrows done, they will mix you a custom made foundation (you cant find this anywhere else), give you a glass of champagne, have great girl talk and to top it all off, you can even get a facial. My mom took me to Valerie's when I was just 12 years old in fear that anyone else would ruin my eyebrows. Ever since that day she has done my eyebrows just beautifully and I constantly get complements and people asking who does them. I have referred many people to her who are all very happy. Her products are absolutely amazing and the packaging is very beautiful and girly. Some of my favorite must haves are the vitamin e stick, eye patches and liquid diamonds. Her make up brushes are also a must for every women. They are so luxurious and last forever. Her make-up color pallets are customizable so you can pick and choose what works best for you. I would suggest booking a make-up lesson with Valerie or Shauna. It can never hurt to be refreshed on how to properly apply make-up and then after you can spend time together to pick out some new products! Got my eyebrows done and they did a great job. I was a little nervous, since it was my first time, that they would take a little too much off but they came out great! This place is so chic and elegant. As soon as you walk in you know you're going to be pampered. They offer you sparkling or flat water and offer many different services. I came in for brows with Joseph and he does an amazing job ! My brows are full tinted and frame my eyes beautifully. He did a quick touch up afterward and I fell in love with their t glow tinted moisturizer and illuminate. Valerie was there. She was very friendly and gracious, told me about the products and even offered to ship the t glow to me for free since they were out. Will definitely be back. Got my eyebrows done by Valerie for the first time today. I was a past customer of Anastasia but decided to try something new because I was sick of waiting 20-30 minutes every time! Valerie was a breath of fresh air! She sat me down in under 10 minutes and my eyebrows have never looked better! I am surprised by the other reviews for Valerie Beverly Hills Cosmetics. I have been in the store twice. Once for a booked appointment for make up and was satisfied. The second time I walked in and the place was empty so Valerie did a light application of makeup. She is enthusiastic about make up so will push product but what do you expect? It's no different than any other cosmetic counter. I have found Sephora sales people more aggressive. But I am writing this as upon my first visit I stumbled upon the T-Glow tinted moisturizer. I wear it pretty much daily and constantly get comments on how great my skin is. My friends are amazed at the difference T-Glow makes to my skin. I am around 40 and love that I get colour without getting that old-lady cakey look found with most make-up. Only draw back for me is I have just moved back to Canada and it's very expensive to have it shipped here. Everyone should try the T-Glow product. It will make your skin "glow" and look youthful. I also have used there phantom smudgey fat pencil and various eye shadows as well as the Eyes by Valerie under eye treatments although those are expensive. As for the attitude - didn't find much and certainly not compared to other Beverly Hills stores. read more

She spent an hour with me and made my look perfect she even showed me how to do it at home. Megan knows how to sculpt eyebrows and is so gentle you barely know you have her working on you. She is also a breath of fresh air because she is so sweet and down to earth. Not only is she an accomplished esthetician but a top make-up artist as well...i've never had make-up down so well because she LISTENS and adjusts her style to your request and skin-type. I came here because Valerie's foundation was recommended to me. But omg, it is expensive. Not the foundation itself, which comes in a tin (to be used with a makeup brush) but the silicone drops one has to buy to use with it. And everytime I come in, I am made to feel like someone in the film Friends With Money... and am sold something I don't need because I am too embarrassed to say no, I'm broke, I don't have money for even what I'm buying when all the super-highlighted blondes are milling around and getting their makeup done. I shrink at the look of pity given me along with the lovely lavender Valerie bag in which reside my foundation and over-priced silicone drops (I say overpriced because I'm sure most of the money goes into the way the metal cylinder is made, but it often doesn't work and these priceless drops are lost or dribbled away.) I'm not a good customer because I don't buy what Valerie's shrewd eye has spotted for me - the right hue of lipstick or something that will help my under-eye wrinkles... or am I being shamed for my off-brand yoga wear? I assess most to be long-time customers, the way they greet one another or sit comfortably with glasses of champagne. But then I am thinking of switching to Mineral if one more Silicone cylinder goes awry. I went to their temp place while their new studio is being renovated and they were more snotty than ever and their prices are higher!!! Okay, here are some hacks for those high-priced silicone drops - Benefit Professional (or whatever it is called.) Anything that lubricates your face! TRY NOT TO SPEND MONEY THERE!!!! Yes I do have a "little" uneasiness when I walk into a business where there are no women of color anywhere on staff. I brought my girlfriend here for my brothers wedding. My family has never met my girlfriend before so she was nervous about meeting my family and wanted to feel confident so I took her to Valerie's. Valerie did all her makeup, she looked so stunning I had no choice but to buy all the products for her. During the makeover Valerie gave her a lesson so that she may repeat the steps on her own. She was so helpful and so nice! It was expensive, however for the quality and the size of the products it was very worth it! Nobody wrote about this place? I went there before my wedding to have one make-up session with their male artist a few years ago. Saw a lot of women, almost all white, coming to this place to get their eye brow done etc while I was sitting there. My honest impression is, boy! they really do a good business based on these women's insecurity about their looks!!! The make-up I got was nothing remarkable and the whole seene was sooooo stereotypical L.A superficial. It was almost comical and I almost wanted to laugh out loud. And, of course, Valerie, the owner, was so eager to sell me all the make up material used during the session. When I said I didn't need them(who would pay extra hundreds besides paying a hundred for the make-up session?!) , she looked at me in disbelief and said" But you won't be ablet to recreat the make-up at home!" or somehting like that to which I replied, "I am not even sure if I want to keep this make up at this point." I just want to share my experience, and everyone can draw their own conclusions about whether or not they want to do business with someone like Valerie. About a year ago, I tried to make an appointment to have my eyebrows tweezed with my favorite makeup artist at Valerie's. I was told that he had been in a motorcycle accident and hurt his hand, but that I should come in and let someone else take care of me until he returned. This went on for months, until one day I learned that my makeup artist had NOT hurt his hand, but had in fact left Valerie's shop. Valerie lied to me directly, and caused her employees to do the same. I finally was contacted by my makeup artist, and am now happily seeing him at his new place of business.
