Really great place for clean beauty. This location is very clean and organized. It's a quiet store and sometimes they have events or representatives from the brand to assist. Sometimes the actual brand owners are there. The only thing is i wish they would advertise more so I know when those type of things are happening. I usually just find out by chance or good timing Generally all staff are very friendly and helpful. I have had poor experience with other clean beauty stores and them not knowing how to work with deeper skin. This place is very knowledgeable and skillful and personable. For the most part, the folks who work here are super sweet, if a bit stretched thin a times through no fault of their own. The problem with that is in a small intimate space that is somewhat on the luxury side, you're not going to get that kind of service that reflects that when it's busy, so if you want more personalized service, make an appointment or come when it's slow. Ilia reps are phenomenal; however, there are one or two people who work here that have an extremely negative, almost hostile vibe. I thought at first it was that they're direct and to the point, but then I saw how they were with a couple of other women who were clearly wealthy. While the in-store services themselves were good, the overall customer experience and staff attitude left a lot to be desired. My initial appointment was canceled by the store due to their own scheduling error. As compensation, they offered me a complimentary service. However, when I tried to redeem it, management refused to honor the offer. I had to dig through my emails to provide proof of the agreement, which made me feel accused of being dishonest. After completing my services (which required a $50 minimum purchase), I spent an additional $400 on new products. I later discovered that roughly half of them contained toxic ingredients with carcinogenic properties, (not something I expected from a clean beauty ). As a multiple cancer survivor, this is a health risk I simply cannot take. When I returned the items, I was initially told they would only issue a store credit, as is their normal policy with service-related purchases. I had to remind them that my total purchases far exceeded the $50 minimum (I had spent over $150 in products alone) before they agreed to process a one-time refund. Overall, I found the management and staff to be rude, dismissive, and condescending. With the exception of the talented makeup artist, I will not be returning to the W. 3rd St. location. read more

Credo Beauty is a really cool place filled with clean beauty products! I came here for the 1st time for a Pop-Up Event with Credo x 54 Thrones. This event had some tasty treats with the opportunity to meet 54 Thrones Founder, Christina --who was so kind and sweet! I almost missed meeting her by a few mins. Parking can be weird but we were blessed to have found a park on the streets and as we were headed inside ran into Christina who stopped and spoke with us and gave me the deets of how to navigate once inside! Thanks to Christina... I had knowledge that there was ONLY (1) body butter left, with fuzzy socks and a tote bag calling my name!!! I dashed inside the store and made a bee-line to where the 54 Throne section was. Indeed there was (1) body butter left scent: Kenyan Hibiscus + Moroccan Rose. I was approached by an associate asking if I needed help, which was nice but by that time I was ready to check out. I think I would return to check-out some of their other items. I prioritize a clean lifestyle and self care in a world of companies that desire to coerce and market their products in order to maximize profits and hurt people in the long run. When I purchase from this store, I never feel this way. Not only does it feel extremely comfortable, like a home, but the staff is above and beyond hospitable and welcoming. They are so meticulous and caring, specifically Morgan, Serena, Dominique, and Nikki. I have been coming to this place regularly for almost a couple of months now and try to convince every single person I know, family members, friends, anyone. I have sensitive skin, and their products do wonders. Not to mention, EVERYTHING IS CLEAN. You are completely and wholeheartedly getting your money's worth. I love Credo and will continue being a regular customer, but what truly keeps me coming back, aside from the products, are the staff I mentioned. I had gone in to receive recommendations for the right match for foundation (sometime online doesn't cut it). The personnel initially helped me for a few minutes, but as people were walking in I felt sidelined as the personnel aided two people (who both came in without appointment and had a lengthy conversation with each of them). Not that it should matter, but the people who walked in were two beautiful ladies Caucasian in appearance. I am a petite Asian lady in my 40s. She did not notice me leaving the store, and I felt a bit unfair as she could have finished with my consultation first. I really wish I could give this location a higher rating. I've been in the luxury beauty retail industry my whole career teaching and delivering sales as an executive leader for neimans, saks, Sephora and more. I came in to get some Exa products to use on a client and picked up something for myself. On a Sunday a nice lady approached me in skin while seemed the manager was at the register and didn't look up, ever. I moved into makeup and when I asked the lady to help with a shade she said oh no I don't do that. Maybe she can help and pointed to another young lady. She just looked at me and said I guess I can help you. I wasn't convinced of her skill after that so I asked for a sample and bought an eyeshadow. The eyeshadow burned my eyes so I brought it back on a Tuesday thinking I would get the foundation. The same young lady was at the register preoccupied. A vendor said can I help you and it seemed it took everything for her to do so as she was packing up her things. I was so disgusted at the lack of service or enthusiasm that I didn't want to spend further time or money in that store. I returned the item and won't be shopping there. read more

I was in the area and need an Alima powder refill and Credo carries this brand. Unfortunately, it could only be purchased on their website, so the woman recommended Well People Bio Powder Foundation instead. We tried a couple of shades and 5C worked for me. Well People's shades are all numbered - which is a great idea. Plus it's a clean product with plant-powdered ingredients. And under "good news bad news" - there is a senior discount which they applied to my purchase. There is also a first time purchase discount. She also gave me a generous sample of Reflekt 3 Face cream that is nice. There was free street parking 1/2 block away the day I went. Definitely will come back when I need something else. read more

This makeup is clean and lightweight (my African American gf living Germany swears by it) so I was finally able to try the liquid foundation and love it. My very first time visiting this location (pre-pandemic!) was excellent - I distinctly remember chatting with my super friendly, helpful sales associate for so long that I had to run out and feed the meter to finish shopping. This time, however, was not as pleasant. I think the person who was initially helping me was a manager (dark hair, tattoos) and she gave me a standoffish, icy vibe that she could not be bothered to walk me through what options they had for the particular type of product I was looking for or answer any questions. She left me at some point to go do something at the cash wrap, and then another associate (male, very sweet) started helping me and he was the absolute polar opposite of her. Helpful. Patient. Engaging. I ended up buying a couple of things because of HIM (despite HER sour demeanor). TL;DR - the product selection is great, but beware of spotty service. read more

I have alot of knowledge around skincare and beauty so it always annoys me when I go into a beauty store and I know more than the sales rep so when I met Moraima, i knew i was in good hands. This is such a great beauty & makeup store. It specializes in "clean" beauty brands, which is why I decided to take a look, but I went back because of the beautiful makeup displays, (which you can touch and try!) AND the truly friendly sales associates. You can tell the people who work here like what they do and enjoy selling clean makeup and beauty supplies. They are so helpful and nice. I love that you can bring old makeup in to be recycled. You also get points towards free gifts to encourage recycling, which is nice too. The displays are beautiful. I love makeup, but it's not as much fun if you can't see it and sample it. The store is very clean and the associates will sterilize anything you want to try. They also do beauty days where they'll "do" your makeup, just like the good old days! (Remember when they'd do that at Sephora?) you can also purchase small containers that they'll fill with a foundation or moisturizer that you want to try. I've been a virtual fan of this shop for years but I needed something recently sooner than shipping would allow (and a $24 express shipping is a little too steep) so I made the 1.5 hour drive to the store. But no regrets. I was on break from work and school that week so I framed it as my good old days drives to my favorite place: LA anything! There's such a cozy clean vibe to this place from the moment you arrive and walk in. I was immediately greeted by such an incredible sweet and friendly associate and I'm so bummed I forgot to get her name. But we "bonded" haha during my 30 minute stay as I told her about my drive and passion for this shop. She said, "I refuse to let you leave then until you play and test every product!" and she meant it as she thoroughly helped me try out everything I was interested in. After all the fun and laughter and exploration, I dropped a solid $200 but so worth it. For the products, the experience, and the quality of the whole experience. I *REALLY* hope they open an OC location soon though because I want to visit more often and get to test before I buy but oof that drive haha. I visited the store several times with my nieces before 2020 and felt that the service was very hit or miss. Sometimes the sales associates were helpful and sometimes they were dismissive at best. My nieces are in high school so I chalked it up to the associates assuming they were not there to spend money (despite the fact that my wallet was covering it all) and was mostly unbothered by the experience. I was very excited for my first back-in-store experience with Credo Beauty as I have been shopping online since the pandemic. I went in (without my nieces) several weeks ago and was shocked by how rude and unhelpful the team members were. A blonde with a middle part and aviator style glasses acted like my very presence disturbed her. She offered me no help and when I asked her a few questions, her one word responses barely registered. I felt she was glaring at me at times. It was horrible. Other staff members were on and off the floor intermittently and seemed pre-occupied. I heard about Credo after a makeup artist on a shoot told me to go! I am trying to transition into using more natural, organic products and she said this was the perfect place to check out. I was specifically looking for a lip aid from a brand they don't carry anymore but the woman in the store offered another option for something similar that I was looking for! I learned a lot about the different brands they carry and she was super helpful, I wish I got her name! The only thing is I wish they had multiple locations in LA. It's near the Beverly Center and not my favorite part of town since it takes so long to get here, find parking, overly populated, etc. However that's my personal preference and shouldn't reflect on the store whatsoever. It would be really nice if there was one in the north east side! I am excited to go back and try new beauty products that are better for my skin/health overall. They are the only store in LA (as far as I know) that carry Jones Road Beauty (Bobbi Browns new line). I ventured all the way out of the San Fernando Valley ;) and was greeted by Megan. I have mixed feelings about this location, I love the products and some of the staff is so nice but there's one female worker with goth/ rocker style I don't recall her name that is very stand off with her attitude, she's rude, makes you feel like your wasting her time, doesn't seem to enjoy her job, doesn't listen to what your asking for and just has an attitude. I really love shopping here but today I had an annoying experience. As soon as I walked in and started browsing, I was bum rushed by a sales associate I think she was well-meaning, but if a customer tells you that they don't need help--please back off! And go away! It is so rare that I write negative reviews, but after a handful of bad experiences at Credo (specifically the one on 3rd), I feel like feedback is necessary. The staff seems consistently perturbed when anyone asks for product information or recommendations, and I have never not been rushed through my purchase process and out of that store. They never ask me about my skin type or what kind of solutions I'm looking for, and tend to recommend the same handful of products regardless of need. There's also an attitude around skincare knowledge, as if the shopper should know more, and as someone who does actively research and keep up with latest trends, I find this super off-putting. It has been an uncomfortable and ultimately unsatisfying experience every time I've been in. I'm officially a convert to Detox Market, Sephora, literally anywhere else. read more

I came to Credo to find a concealer that I could use to spot cover uneven coloring on my face and, I wanted my skin to look dewy and fresh and 'makeupless'.  I had the very good fortune to work with Tiffany who was wonderfully generous with her time, care and expertise.  In addition, it was clear she loved going beyond whatever hopefulness I might have! Being older, matching a concealer or foundation is not very easy on me.  To my surprise, Tiffany gave me a complete make over although I was bit nervous because I have had some terrible make overs.  However, Tiffany's make over was simply lovely!  In fact, a woman who was shopping in the store at the time stopped and said, "that is beautiful, your makeup is beautiful!." I received tips as well!  Tiffany gave me the dewy look I wished for by adding a couple of drops or so of a light face oil to the foundation she chose for me and voila... dewy, fresh, light reflecting! I travel 45 minutes one way to shop at Credo because I value their green/eco products.  This said, I need guidance as matching foundation and concealer is not easy to find with my skin color and texture.  Tiffany was patient and eager and determined to find the perfect match.  I remain very grateful to and for Tiffany's good works and bright spirit. read more
