    Ube malasada

Valerio's has a variety of Filipino desserts that give me that comfort of being at home with my parents. I've tried a variety of the desserts. Ube Buchi is delicious, especially when it's fresh! It is a deep fried sesame ball filled with an Ube paste. It's chewy and crunchy. I could taste the Ube filling which is always a plus! Karioka is also delicious! It's 3 large mochi balls coated with brown sugar on a stick. It's also crunch and chewy! Ube Pandesal with cheese is yummy! I suggest putting it in the microwave for 10 seconds for the cheese to melt in the Ube bread. You can't really taste the Ube, but the texture of the bread and the cheese is on point. Ube Malasadas is what my fiancé and I recently had. It's a sugar deep fried donut with a an Ube cream filling. The donut itself was very good! It was soft, chewy and moist. As I bit into the Ube malasada, I could not taste the Ube filling. It tasted like a light, oily whipped cream. Overall, this place is is great if you're craving some Filipino desserts! I definitely will be back to taste the other desserts that they have!

Lobster croissant $29...overdressed, very soggy (dripping with dressing). And topped off with more aioli making it soggy and mushy. Meat tasted rubbery and over cooked. Disappointed. Ordered "iced" double espresso, came out hot. Raspberry-blueberry tart was fine... Price listed $8.95, but price came out $9.25 on the check. Need to update prices to match. Overall bill was $52.35. Sand which not worth it. Servers was nice, but not familiar with menu, and didn't realize she made the coffee incorrectly. Love supporting local business, place has potential... We ordered the Ube Cake online, and the slice hit the spot perfectly. The cake looked beautiful - nice tall layers of soft, moist purple ube sponge cake with thick white cream filling, a creamy yellow custard-style center, and finished with whipped cream on top. The ube flavor was well-balanced: that signature nutty, earthy sweetness without being overly sweet. I've had great home-cooked Filipino ube desserts before. While this is clearly a fusion bakery version, it still captured the comforting, celebratory vibe that ube brings to Filipino tables. It reminded me of the festive sweets you'd find at family gatherings or parties back in my wifes home country. The online ordering was convenient, but the pickup instructions could have been better. The pickup area is on the same side as the drink pickup, which caused a little confusion during a busy time. Service was otherwise fast and friendly, the bakery was clean and well-stocked, and prices are reasonable for the portion size. If you're in the Henderson/Las Vegas area and looking for a quick ube fix or any of their other Asian- and Filipino-inspired pastries, this spot is worth a stop. The ube cake was definitely the highlight for me. Would definitely grab another slice next time I'm craving something purple and delicious!

CREPES, COFFEE AND MORE…read more.. I went to this French cafe over a week ago to try to get a crepe to go. It was not overly busy. It's very casual and easy to order at the counter and go. Think again. I got through the line quickly. Placed my order and watched everyone around me receive their food, dine and leave within 30 minutes all while I was still standing at the front waiting for 1 gluten free crepe with fruit. There was a sign up front that asked guests to be prepared to wait longer times so I really tried to be patient. I waited. After 40 minutes still standing up front I still had no crepe. I asked the cashier if she remembered me and she said my order would be ready momentarily. I took a closer look at the order and noticed that the gluten free crepe was buckwheat batter of which when I ordered they didn't make mention of this. Due to my allergies and sensitivity I had to wait again to speak with someone else who appeared to be managing, perhaps the owner. He claimed they make their own batter and brought out the bag of buckwheat flour. Then read on google the ingredients. I really thought a gluten free crepe was mainly made of alternative flour such as coconut flour--not here. I also pulled up this information however I did not want to take a risk. He told the cashier at the counter to issue me a refund and he turned back around to make more coffee orders. I overall felt like I had wasted my time here. I used to take my kids here and haven't been here since they remodeled and expanded. I was by myself and really just wanted something to eat but was not offered anything else. That part upset me the most. Then my refund took a week long. Really thought the refund should have been immediately. The cafe is really cute! I love the decor and feel in here but just really disappointed in this whole experience and not the best quality of customer service. Located on Horizon Ridge Parkway in Green Valley.

From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the beautiful atmosphere. The restaurant is thoughtfully decorated, spotless, and has a warm, welcoming feel that immediately makes you comfortable. The staff was exceptional--friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great experience. Our waters were never empty, our food arrived quickly, hot, and beautifully plated, and the service was outstanding from start to finish. I ordered the Nico's Gyro with feta fries, and it was absolutely delicious. The gyro was packed with flavor, the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, and the feta fries were the perfect indulgent side. One friend ordered the Theo Salad, which looked incredible, and another had the Souvlaki Platter. Everything that came to the table looked phenomenal, and the portions were impressively generous. You definitely get a lot of food for your money here. Beyond the food, I was also impressed by their beverage selection. While I didn't try any of the drinks this visit, they offer a variety of unique coffees, juices, and specialty beverages that looked fantastic. And then there were the desserts. Our server mentioned that many of them are imported, and they looked absolutely incredible. I'll definitely be making another trip back just to sample a few of them. It's hard to beat a family-owned restaurant that delivers on every level--fresh, flavorful food, generous portions, outstanding service, a beautiful atmosphere, and an impressive selection of drinks and desserts. I live on the opposite side of Henderson, but Theo's is absolutely worth the drive. I'll definitely be back and will happily recommend it to friends and family. Lindsay, my sister, sent me pictures months ago showing me what she wanted and those pictures were sent to Darlene. Very simple, no frills, black, flat top, chocolate cake with smooth sides. Ive seen the pictures on her site,so I know she could do this. If she couldn't, she shouldve done a practice run and at least given Lindsay more than a few hours notice before dropping a bomb on what should be the happiest day of someones life. This is so insanely unprofessional! Honestly, a refund is not even enough for doing that to someone on their wedding day! I spent the day before the wedding calling every single bakery in Las Vegas, willing to pay double to get her something to be able to cut with her husband on her happy day and it was too short of notice. Not only did Darlene not apologize, she tried to pass off a bulbous, over decorated cake that looked absolutely NOTHING like the picture, saying "here's your gorgeous cake". When Lindsay expressed that it wasnt even remotely close to what they discussed, she took no accountability, offered no solution and simply said, "it can't be changed, sweetheart". Upon further conversations, she said she would "try" to make something else. At $350 for flour and sugar, it should look exactly like the picture. It honestly probably took more work to make what she presented than what Lindsay actually wanted. As a small business owner myself, I know mistakes happen, but I also know the importance of customer service, making things right and taking accountability. Word to the wise, maybe do a test run first to ensure your wedding day isn't ruined if you choose to work with Darlene.
