The cake looked beautiful - nice tall layers of soft, moist purple ube sponge cake with thick white cream filling, a creamy yellow custard-style center, and finished with whipped cream on top. The ube flavor was well-balanced: that signature nutty, earthy sweetness without being overly sweet. I've had great home-cooked Filipino ube desserts before. While this is clearly a fusion bakery version, it still captured the comforting, celebratory vibe that ube brings to Filipino tables. It reminded me of the festive sweets you'd find at family gatherings or parties back in my wifes home country. The online ordering was convenient, but the pickup instructions could have been better. The pickup area is on the same side as the drink pickup, which caused a little confusion during a busy time. Service was otherwise fast and friendly, the bakery was clean and well-stocked, and prices are reasonable for the portion size. If you're in the Henderson/Las Vegas area and looking for a quick ube fix or any of their other Asian- and Filipino-inspired pastries, this spot is worth a stop. We had previously visited the China Town location and absolutely love the Vietnamese coffee. I ran in for what I thought would be a quick pick up but this tiny place was packed! I immediately jumped in line (there were 13 people in front of me and a dozen more still selecting pastries). The girl at the counter was nice and I was quick to place my order. The 2 staff members making the coffee drinks were overwhelmed and didn't seem to have a system in place as multiple people who ordered after me were receiving their drinks before me. This is another of the popular bakery chain in Henderson. It's located quite close to the new Longhorn steakhouse, so we walked over while waiting for our table. It's quite clean and well kept inside with a large selection of assorted breads, cookies, and pastries. In a cold case you will find quite a selection of assorted cakes both whole cakes and slices. Staff are sort of .. meh. Not terribly friendly but not rude either. We tried a variety of items, and I just finished eating the potato croquette. It was much more "bready" than I am used to and actually had very little filling. I have tried a few other items also including the Black Forest cake - delicious and not overly sweet. The simple sliced white bread is also delicious and makes amazing toast. I've been here a few times and overall, I've enjoyed my experiences here. Most recently, I tried the sea salt matcha with oat milk, and it is my favorite drink I've tried so far here. I did ask to get my matcha made with almond milk, but was told they only had soy and oat milk. I'm not sure if they were out that day or if almond milk just isn't offered, but the oat milk still worked well. One of the best things about this place is the huge selection. There are so many drinks and baked goods to choose from. They offer something for everyone. There are savory pastries, sweet pastries, cakes (you can get individual slices), and plenty of breads. Coffee, boba, and matcha. The bakery section always looks fresh and well-stocked, never like it's been sitting out for days or anything. Service has been consistently good and the prices are very reasonable and affordable. However, there's a lot of foot traffic and I've noticed sometimes it takes a while for someone to clean tables crumbs and what not off tables after customers leave. You can order at a kiosk, at the register, or online for pickup. I also like that you can grab a tray cafeteria-style and choose your pastries before checking out. There is also plenty of parking since this is located in a shopping plaza. Now, I willll say that the drinks here are VERY sweet, which is fitting because the cups and the wall says "sweeten your life." Love that they have this cafe here because we would go to the one in Shanghai Plaza and it's less of a drive for us!! Upon entering I liked how I could go order drinks at the kiosk while my husband went to look at the pastries. So many options to choose from and let me tell you our favorite one item is the Choco Buns. If you love chocolate this would be something I recommend. I thought this bakery listed as 85 degrees C is due to their baking but instead is due to coffee temperature. Hmmm Coffee wise - nothing special. I inquired with barista about the type roast they use - light medium dark etc but he was unable to tell me. He simply pointed out on the coffee label that it is unique to this franchise. Lattes were way too sweet so that was a no go too. Food wise I decided to have ham and cheese sandwich. To my surprise it was not freshly made. Instead it was in plastic container pre made and heated up all along with plastic. Just like a sandwich in an airplane! Well the taste was as you could expect. Warm but missing a substance! I walked in for an impromptu afternoon snack and it was perfect! Walking in, you're greeted by tons of fresh baked goods and a long coffee bar. The store was quite busy so there were quite a few items that were not stocked at the time I was there but don't fret, I found plenty to try. I found a bacon and cheese square pastry of sorts and ohhh my gosh was it good. Coming back for that thing! I also grabbed a custard roll and just the fluff of the bread was what initially drew me in. It did not disappoint, I pulled that bun apart piece by piece and enjoyed every last bite! The last item I grabbed was from the fridge, it was some sort of strawberry cake bites (two of them) and those to me were just alright, nothing too exciting. I was hoping for a whipped cream but there was just a small dollop of some sort of pudding. It was like a 6/10. Finally Henderson is getting some stores and food shops that were only on Spring Mountain. 85 is a Taiwanese chain bakery and had baked goods and tea and coffee drinks. Located in the strip mall on the far end of the plaza, you find a decent amount of parking. The inside is open and works like a cafeteria. You grab a tray at the front, go to the right, and start working your way in the assorted individually wrapped pastries. The milk buns and egg tarts are my favorites and it looks like they have a large baking area in the back. Also purchased a pack of mini lemon sponge cakes for my friend. You will find some unique flavors such as matcha cake roll or red bean paste filled sweet bread. I picked some savory options such as the Hawaiian chicken bun and ham and cheese bun. They were good, but a little greasy. Might be a once in a while thing. The pastries are not traditionally super sweet. They are more about fluffy textures or spongelike cakes, so it would pair well with coffee or tea. They had black tea with milk in the refrigerator section and that hit the spot for something sweet. Everything is recommended to be consumed the same day or next day. It does not taste as fresh after 2 days. They also sell cakes so it's an option for birthdays and celebrations. Everything is reasonably priced. Ranging from $2.50 to about $6. The cashier was friendly and boxed up all my pastries which was a nice touch. I opted for a bag as well since I bought so much stuff. The popular and beautiful strawberry matcha is our grandma's favorite which is on the regular menu. Now they also have mango season with mango matcha and other mango drinks and pastries. Taro lavender latte (the clerk said it's coffee) but I'm pretty sure it's non-caffeinated after trying it, so it's good for kids. Vietnamese coffee only comes in blended style, if you are tired of the sea salt cream drinks. The chocolate mousse cake is not sweet and full of dark chocolate favor, which is perfect with sweet drinks. Badque is not as good as Uncle Tetsu but I can take it. 85 degrees Celsius is 185 degrees Fahrenheit, in case anyone does not know about this. I finally got to check this bakery out after hearing lots of great things about them! OMG, there are so many treats and goodies available in so many flavors! They also sell coffee and boba tea along with these sweet treats. Here, they have a tray that you can use if you're planning on picking up a bunch of items, which is super convenient. It's kind of set up like a grocery store; only you use a tray instead of a shopping cart and then you bring your items to the counter. A self-ordering kiosk is also available for drink orders. We picked up at least three baked goods for each of us. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of any of them because they were so delicious enough to eat. We ordered the following; (1) strawberry cream square, (1) strawberry Danish, (1) coffee cruffin, (1) apple Danish, (2) chocolate buns, and (1) chocolate sponge roll. My boyfriend is not a big chocolate/coffee person, which is why he mostly picked up the apple Danish and the strawberry Danish. The chocolate sponge roll and chocolate bun were really good, however the coffee cruffin was super, SUPER sweet. Like the outside was ok overall, it was the filling itself that had that really sweet taste. I'm guessing that it had a little too much sugar added inside of it. In all honesty, I wouldn't recommend the coffee cruffin if you're trying to avoid baked items with frosting that contains lots of sugar in it. My boyfriend said that he finished his Danishes in one sitting and he is going to have his strawberry cream square later. 85C recommends that you start eating your items as soon as you purchase them. Some things are better than others, but I guess that's true with most places. Biggest complaint is that they're often out of things, I wish they would keep making more stuff throughout the day. Drinks can take a long time, especially when they're busy. The strawberry mango smoothie is a 10/10 win! The bread is all very sweet, and often really moist, which I really like! But just know it can be a little rich and very filling! The red bean bread and milk bread are not my favorite. The consistency was weird for me. But I love the mango bread! We got a tray and were going to get some pastries and buns to bring back to the house. As we went around the displays, some of trays were empty and we didn't see some of our favorites, Hokkaido custard bun, taro puff pastry and the coconut milk bun. We did get two of our other favorites, marble taro bun and milk pudding bun. It was 4pm and thought they had stopped baking as there were no activities behind the counter of workers packaging newly baked items. We did head to Chinatown afterwards and stopped at the 85° and were able to get our favorites and the displays were fully stocked. Hey Yelpers! Wanted to check out this location by our house while looking for someplace to get a tea and chill while we work. The location has good parking and easy tog at to. Inside is nice and clean. There are a few tables, but not a lot. Their baked goods are out on display and easy to access. One issue we had this visit was a large group that was being kinda loud. They were having fun visiting, which I totally support, but it wasn't the ambiance we were looking for. One major drawback with their setup is the chairs. They are comfortable, but they are heavy with metal legs on a concrete floor. Every time someone moves a chair, it echoes loudly throughout the store. That got annoying very quickly and is the reason for losing a star. The food was really good. We tried cheesy hot dog roll (nice but I shoulda warmed it up), an almond twist (really good), and a chocolate croissant covered with chocolate and filled with chocolate pudding. That was our favorite! We had strawberry milk teas with boba to drink, and they were delicious. Later on I got an iced peach green teas it was very sugary. I got a couple glasses of water and evened it out. I had never ordered it before and was expecting a green tea with a peach essence, not a peach syrup. I wouldn't order that again. As for the service, the staff were friendly and helpful. We had questions about some of the offerings and they were great. We would definitely come back here to grab stuff to go.
