This was my first experience under the gun, and the staff there was incredibly supportive and knowledgeable. The woman at the front desk (I didn't get her name, sadly,) spent a long time talking about placement with me, transferring my design to paper in different sizes and laying them out on my arm to see where they would fit best, how to get the best layout for what I wanted, etc. Because my work was rather simple, I was able to meet with an artist named Lisa immediately and discuss the process further and review some of my options. (Side note - I had already been to another tattoo place in town that morning, and I just hadn't liked the vibe of the place. I'm sure there's nothing wrong with the other shop, as they've got a great reputation. It just wasn't a good fit for for me, and I wanted to make sure I was in good hands for a major step like this one.) Lisa was available to do the tattoo right then, and the entire appointment took just under an hour. I am terrified of needles, so I had anticipated having someone sit on my chest to get me through the ordeal. Not only didn't it hurt, it wasn't even vaguely uncomfortable; I was actually disappointed when the whole thing was over. I'm sure a large part of this was due in fact to Lisa's skill with the gun as well as her ability to keep me talking while the tattoo was being done. I'm an English teacher, and we probably spent 90% of our time together talking about short stories that we love. In all, I could not have had a better experience. Whether you're an experienced veteran of the tattooing process or someone who is thinking about getting their first, Body Graphics is the place to be.

This is an only women owned and operated place. Parking is right outside of the shop and it is in this cute older building with lots of architectural style. The staff are nice considerate, and they take their time to verify exactly what you want exactly how you want it. They are up to date with current styles and trends. I will definitely return here when I want to get another tattoo.

I've had ornery tattoo artists in the past, but Matt is patient, a lot of fun, and also a real nice guy. The price was fantastic. I come from NYC where tattoos are $200 an hour, sometimes more. It was nearly half that here. One hell of bargain considering the quality of work, expertise, and relaxed environment. Also I was very happy to see a very clean and sanitary work space. Matt took great care and doing everything by the book. I highly recommend this place. Considering there's not a lot of tattoo shops in the vicinity of Storrs, it's great to know that the one that is, is really great.

Went there to get Venus piercing (back piercing) and they pierced my back unevenly. Top of earring came off of my piecing and I went back to get them to remove the piece in my back. Lady charged me $20 only to tell me she couldn't remove it and to go to a dermatologist. WHY???? Shouldn't they know how to remove piercing they did? And what will the dermatologist do? I wouldn't honestly suggest not to go to Pelican Tattoo due to the unprofessionalism and rudness of the people working there. Beware and stay away because they don't care. I will go to another tattoo salon to get it removed.

I first met with Diego who did my first cover up and then came back for some more work over the next couple of days. I met with Erich who had some creative ideas for my coverups when most people prior had told me I would be stuck with the original ink, he didnt think that surrender was an option. The staff here is very friendly and take the time to get to know you and want the best work done to your satisfaction. I had some work done on the arches of my foot and they wore out a little but Diego said if ever back in the neighborhood he would retouch up the work for free. I recently returned again and took him up on his offer and he did the retouch for me as promised. Highly reccomend these guys and they are always available to accomodate your time slots to get the job done.
