Went here while visiting Tulsa for the 1st time this weekend. The concept is good and there is a huge selection of liquors. The specialty drinks are unusual too. The downside for me is that I wanted an alternative liquor in a "Classic cocktail " and the server would not accommodate my wishes. My entire career has been customer service related so I take it very seriously and expect the same good service in return. It was so surprising that I couldn't substitute brandy for gin in a cocktail. Gin doesn't agree with me . The server told me that they don't deviate from "Classic Cocktail " recipes . He recommended one of their specialty drinks instead . It wasn't a bad drink just not what I wanted as it was a rum based cocktail. Very strange situation! read more

I've heard amazing things about this bar, so when I came back into town, I knew I had to stop by. First off, I love the atmosphere. With Thanksgiving over, we walked in to hear none other than Michael Bublé, crooning over the speakers. I liked seeing all the different spirits on display and if you'd like to sample one of them, make sure to ask for their incredibly extensive spirits menu. I started off with a Singapore Sling (check online on their website for the extended menu), which if you're into a fruity drink, it's right up your alley. It's one of my favorites and rarely, do I see it on the menu or find a bartender who's familiar with it. Our bartender was incredibly friendly and super knowledgable about the craft of cocktail making. I loved the option to order a "bartender's choice" based off of a list of adjectives you choose from. He kept with the geography theme and served up a tropical Port Au Prince, which perfectly matched my "fruity, tropical and not so sweet." I could really go on and on about this place and I wished we have something like this back home. 5/5 across the board in terms of atmosphere, service and drinks! read more

Very cool bar. I would say their drinks are expensive, but not any more than another nice bar. The setting is always super cool and the drinks are crafted well and have some really unique menu options. My only complaint would be when it's busy they keep someone at the door to let people know they're at capacity (which is wonderful) but a few times the employee has been very abrupt and almost rude in opening the door before people even reach the handle, saying they're full, and then closing it immediately. However, all of our servers have always been helpful and kind, so sticking with 5 stars. read more

We didn't have to wait long for a table- and once we entered, the bar became a place of its own. The dark atmosphere & candlelight is great for dates, intimate conversations, or exploring new tastes. just now Worst service ever. Stewart is a complete embarrassment and shouldn't be in the service industry at all. He was incredible rude and refused to let us talk to management after we patiently asked to speak with them. First of all, he lied. He said "Oh I can't serve you. My management is behind me I can get fined for 10,000$? We were like what are you talking about? And then we asked to speak the manager to explain our situation and he said "Oh I am the manager" haha like what? Why did he lie and why he trying so hard to not let us speak to someone... I don't understand why he was so defensive and trying so hard to be a prick. My husband and I both respectable people in the restaurant service industry in Dallas. We know what it means to have good service and how to treat people with respect. We had a great first experience here on a date night previously... Then we came back here tonight on a rare date night since we never get time together without our child. My husbands ID had JUST now expired (not even within a year of getting it) because he is a legal resident (resident license) and with Covid in Texas, we haven't been able to renew it since he just became a citizen. We are both in our mid twenties so this has never been a huge issue before. The server who approached us, Stewart was a completely cold, rude and just completely unprofessional about handling our situation. He went about it in the worst way and refused to let us prove my husband documents. Even though my license was perfectly fine. He said no service to both of us and to leave..? I just think you should carefully pick and choose the bridges you burn. We loved raving about this place to people in Dallas and to our friends in Tulsa but now we will have nothing but bad things to say about this spot because one server ruined our evening for us. Just don't feel like he has any idea how to respect customers and people in general. In all honesty I would never have treat one of my customers with such disgust and tone. The whisky selection is very impressive, and I always go for their Old Fashioned. There is a large display and collection of various spirits on the walls behind the bar station. The mixologists and bartenders are very friendly and knowledgeable. On weekends, it can get very busy during peak hours and easily exceed peak capacity, so there may be a bit of a wait to get inside. We usually go there in the late afternoon (they open at 4:00p) after work/meeting to unwind and to relax. By going there early, you can avoid the night crowd & find easier parking because you have to hunt for street parking in downtown area and it's no fun. As you as you walk in, you will notice how cozy this place is. The what I called, The Great Wall of Spirits is a feast for the eyes. The casual environment makes you feel at ease. Our favorite bartender was Joey (the friendliest bartender in Tulsa). Did you know he spent a lot of time each day to hand-crafted every cubes of ice from a huge (especially ordered ice block)? The attention to details in this bar has put them on a different league in the bar scene. Although Joey is no longer works there, fear not, many of their bartenders are very knowledgeable and can make you serious drinks for the one who has a sophisticated palette. If you are not familiar with cocktails, fear not, all you have to do is to tell them what kind of drink would you like, such as floral, herbal, rich, spirituous, bubbly, etc. They will recommend something special for you. This was my favorite bar I have been to in the Tulsa area. They have a huge selection of bourbons. Nothing very high end you won't find that anywhere in Oklahoma unfortuantly. They had a Stagg & Thomas Hand from the antique buffalo trace collection. They also had a Mitch 10 year which is a decent mid level bottle. I am kind of a bourbon snob and love to visit Texas because of the selection of bourbons available. I wish Oklahoma would get their act together and get some of the great bourbons that are available in other states. Then made a killer old fashioned it was in my top 10 traditional old fashions I have had at bars. Typically they put to many bitters in them or to much sweatner and it just ruins the drink. This was just the right amount on both drinks I had. I would 110% go back here if in town again. This is a great addition to the Tulsa area congrats. read more

Cannot believe I have not yet reviewed Valkyrie. This is Tulsa's preeminent cocktail bar. Sure it can fill up on weekends. But Scott (dark curly hair) and the crew knows how to welcome a crowd. On a Saturday/ Sunday afternoon, don't be scared to stop in in your jogging clothes. A few favorites are the El Diablo (house made ginger beer, tequila, mezcal, creme de cassis, and lime) - as well as all the classics. They know how to make a stunning old fashioned, amaretto sour, and to embellish, if you tell them what you like. I come and go in waves, depending upon the season. I have tried the season of tequila, gin, and whisky drinks -- all the same. They also feature a splendid beer lineup. But, with rare exceptions, I always order cocktails here. BTW - they will make a terrific mocktail if you have a DD or non-drinker in your midst. This is a real diamond in the Brady district. I remember 3 years ago when there was nothing here, besides Brady Tavern, a few subpar dining options, and Glacier confections. Things have changed. The Brady district is alive and well.
