Only one in our group had any experience, so direction was needed. Sal was our axe specialist and with his guidance we were mostly all able to hit the ground running. Such an unique and fun way to spend a few hours. Our two axe throwing guides/score takers were very fun and friendly. We had lots of time to warm up and practice and then it was a round robin tournament. Slightly intimidating, but good instructions made all of us successful in hitting the target more than once. Some of us even got to throw the BIG AXE! A lot of misses throughout the evening too, but all in good fun. Hint: always follow through! The place is very open, however we all worked up a big sweat despite several industrial sized fans. They have water on hand and 2 vending machines. We were told they are working on a bar space, so soon they can serve alcohol. I do believe it's BYOB (and food if desired) right now. We headed upstairs to grab a drink prior to exploring the arcade downstairs. We were immediately greeted and told about the layout, we decided to order the Shirley Temple of Doom (get it! ). It was the bougiest, best made Shirley temple EVER. Thanks Evelyn! They had a snack bar with candy, nachos, popcorn and pretzels along with multiple beverages. Along with the snack bar the upstairs features axe throwing and an absolutely dreamy game area with an assortment of games for every age level. There was plenty of space to hang out, it was super clean, well lit, but not uncomfortably bright (if that makes sense) and very very welcoming. The arcade area was more my son and husbands area- they had a blast playing skee ball, Pac-Man, pinball and racing. We could've stayed all day. Price wise everything was SO reasonable. I think that was one of the most impressive aspects. I could easily see myself grabbing a book, giving my kid $10 and parking myself by the skeeball machine sipping a mocktail and being left alone for at least an hour. This is PRICELESS. We drove for a few minutes in country time (20 minutes or so in the rest of the worlds time)... and we ended up at the most incredible cider house and orchard. Because we are fast approaching Halloween, the orchard was littered with pumpkins and halloween paraphernalia. Upon entering into the store, you are overwhelmed with fabulous candles, jams and kitschy country decorations. The second floor is what intrigued me.... Cider, Apple wine, (cysers) and delicious apple ice wine. The winemaker / cider maker here did a fabulous job of making a flavourful, dry fruit wine. And the price is great. If you can find the place, I recommend going there for a sunday drive. you will not be disappointed.
