Don't expect to have have great service on a Saturday night. We walked in, sat ourselves and then waited 10 minutes on a server to stop by and ask if we've been helped. Then the hostess came over and lectured us for sitting down without being seated since its not an 'open bar' on the sides. The server tried to redeem herself by being super friendly and actually checking on us regularly so that made up for it a little. I get it, they were busy but mutliple servers walked by us and even aknowledged us without even saying anything! This was my first time here and I didn't even know that this place existed! The decor is beautiful-from the outdoor twinkle lights at the patio to the rural bar area.. you can tell this was much more than your average pub! I forgot our waitress name but thank you for being so soooo patience with us while my party of 6 was being indecisive with our food orders. The menu may be limited but boy, the options were classic and the servings were HUGE! Everything was delicious and very filling. We could barely get through half of our meals and had to take a lot of leftovers home. I also want to thank the bartender (whose name I didn't get either) for being so patience with the guys and giving them samples of different beers. Although the food and drinks were great, customer service sets the bar pretty high on my list! I will definitely be returning and supporting this hidden gem in the Valley. read more

I usually cook on Thanksgiving, but after canceling plans to travel to southern Califonia, I decided to get take-out dinner this year. I really wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised with our dinner from Valley Brewing. The turkey was so tender and flavorful as were the mashed potatoes, dressing, and gravy. I have never had yams with the skins on but they were delicious. (I added some cinnamon and brown sugar but they were very tasty on their own.) The portions were very generous so I was able to enjoy leftovers the next day. The pies were tasty but the key lime was not quite set, but the flavor was very good. All in all , it was a lovely, satisfying meal. From ordering to pick up, the staff couldn't have been nicer and the price was definitely right. Thank you for making our Thanksgiving dinner so wonderful! I know where to go now if I don't feel like cooking! read more

Came here on a Friday with a few family members to drink and eat. Bar wasn't full for a Friday night so we were promptly seated. Waiter was courteous and professional very attentive with our order of food. Place is clean and friendly with a great selection of food and appetizers. The beer is not brewed locally FYI. The only reason why I'm giving a three star was for their pizza . I ordered a veggie pizza with extra cheese for $14. And a full order of mushrooms and calamari. The pizza dough was over cooked bland and hard to chew. Barely had any sauce and an abundance of eggplant. The extra cheese made the pizza soggy from the top with an uncooked type of taste to it. What kind of a person working in the kitchen would dare to serve a customer the sandwich I had, and charge me what I was charged? I saw that there was a BLT on the menu, with avocado added was an extra $2.50. I asked the waitress if I could sub avocado for the bacon, and she said yes. When the sandwich arrived my eyes alone told me this was not a sandwich I was going to enjoy because it was served on very small, lightly toasted white bread. As I bit in, I again realized that I was not going to get pleasure from the sandwich. There was very little lettuce, tomato sliced wafer thin, and the avocado sliced so thin as to be negligible. I bought the same sandwich for my friend, and we both agreed that I was one of the most over-priced sandwiches we had ever eaten, with little flavor and no content.The amount of sandwich was the type I might pack in my first grader's lunch. ( I had 5 kids) The worst part was, that I was charged for both the BLT and and the extra avocado. After I had a mild argument with the waitress, they did take off the +avocado charge. I do have to say, others in our group had food that was tasty, and quantity was fine. This was my second time visiting Valley Brewing Co. Today I had a really large "cup" of corn and shrimp chowder which was good. And today I purchased the Ruben sandwich and French fries. I thought the corned beef was over cooked. The first time I ate here within 2 weeks I had their special cheeseburger with onion rings and bacon and Bbq sauce it was much better than the Ruben. The atmosphere is fun and really nice. Today were lots of groups and people enjoying Saturday afternoon. They also have a nice outside seating and patio. I was surprised that it looks like they have a brewery but they don't have a brewmaster so they don't make beer. read more

Absolutely one of the worst places to eat in Stockton. I stopped going there several years ago when they made significant changes. They started putting hot pepper in the salad dressings and on the fries. I cannot eat hot food. I asked them for ranch dressing without the hot pepper and also for the fries with just salt. I was told that they had new policies and that was their house made dressing and the way they served their fries. Obviously they are more interested in selling more beer than accommodating a customer's dietary needs. read more

Came in for our coworkers birthday lunch with 6 people, we were the only customers when we arrived. All off us ordered either burgers or sandwiches, and one of my coworkers never got her BLT. We asked the server at least 4 times and he had a different excuse each time. Finally, after we all finished our meal, the server came and said the kitchen had printer problems and her meal hasn't been made. It's been an hour! How long does a BLT take to make? This has been my favorite place but this happened before so my coworkers didn't want to come. They came for my birthday because they know how much I like it. But after this experience I'm not sure if I will come back or recommend this place anymore. Then to top it off, we were charged for BBQ sauce, mayo, and ranch ( we asked for A1, not bbq). My wife, daughter and I had a great experience here. We came in on a Saturday afternoon and the place wasn't terribly busy. The service was great and the waiter/bartender was super personable and kept up with us in regards to how much we were enjoying our food/drinks. The drink menu is exceptional with a ton of options, many of which are not commonly found. In my case, I had both the Anchor Steam 2017 Winter Ale and a FireStone Walker Mocha Merlin. Yum! Valley Brew....why have you forsaken me? This place used to be a solid 3-4 star restaurant 2 years ago. The food and appetizers tasted homemade, a new brew variation was always on tap and the place was always lively for sports and even "Thirsty Thursdays" ($2 beer night). However, once they lost their head cook....total nose dive in quality. The menu shrunk to one page (it used to be a menu with PAGES of food), the food got increasingly mediocre and the beer even took a severe drop in quality (if I'm wishing I could have a Blue Moon instead of your craft brew...something is clearly wrong). It's like that hot chick you used to date in high school. She was untouchable back in her prime, but you run into her at Wal-Mart a few years later with curlers in her hair, rocking a stained t-shirt, with 2 screaming kids in tow and a pregnancy test in hand (you take the classy route and pretend to not see her). Yes, Valley Brew is THAT BAD now! I've given this place multiple opportunities since then, just because I supported Stockton having a locally owned brewery. However, now I feel like I was being an enabler by allowing them to coast on their previous reputation (while they stole my car stereo in the meanwhile). No more. The handmade specialty medium pizza I ordered was $16 and tasted like something I'd get from a MR P's frozen pizza box (I lived on them as a young adult, but at .89 cents a pop mind you). The craft brew on tap tasted stale (symptom of a keg used past it's prime) and gave me a "visible wince" when drinking it (luckily my budget years of drinking Natural Light conditioned me for such horror). The server was clueless about anything on the menu or at the bar and left us on the patio to fend for ourselves for long spans of time (during a half empty period at that). Overall....stay away. Valley looks pretty on the outside, but she's a whole different beast once you step in. The only thing it's good for now is catching a game, but I urge you to come in full and tanked as you'll be kicking yourself for wasting your $$ after wards.. read more

Let me be frank, the only reason why I went to Valley Brew was because the brewmaster, Steve Altamari made an incredible beer. Seriously, everything he did was fantastic (with extra props for the Uberabbey IPA). Just last year, Steve's Barleywine got gold in the "Great American Beer Fest", which is kind of a big deal. Now that Steve has been fired (and got completely boned by the owner in the process), Valley Brew is just another pub with mediocre, overpriced food and completely average beer. Most of the locals who made this place so interesting have been slowly drifting away, and my favorite bartenders seem to all have vanished. Five stars for what it was, one star for what it is. It gets an extra star for having the only fresh beer in Stockton. read more

From recent visit this place started to suck more besides their pitcher deals. Came here the other night with another huge group of people. (I think we keep coming back here because this is one of the few places that allows us to have separate checks for about 20+ people). I'd have to say the service was waaaay better than the last visit, where we had to ask for everything from menus, napkins, water etc. Maybe someone is paying attention to the reviews! Another thing that has changed was the food, better than the last time it maybe I was too drunk to tell the difference. But really whatever the sauce is that they serve with the stuffed mushrooms and sweet potato fries is bomby! We assumed this was their new house made ranch? But my burger was better than my last visit and surprisingly with such a large group that we had my food wasn't cole/luke warm. So this place has gotten better since my last visit over all. One server even remembered us since we asked for a separate check for just the drinks and he totally remembered us because we always buy a crap load of drinks. Before most of the group got there a few of us were at the bar getting drinks already. I'd have to say for the price I paid for my drinks. THEY WERE STRONG! So thank you for that haha. Thanks for the better service you guys are starting to win me over. Ohhh and I didn't see our server from before who compared their own beer to a similar beer that is sold at BJ's....ya that was awkward. I USED TO like going here for happy hours on Fridays after work. But when a restaurant lets go of all their good bartenders and their head cook, nothing good can come of that. Last time I was there I ordered a vodka press, the girl came back handing me a drink with ginger ale. Really? Their food used to be pretty good too. Even their yam fries are AWFUL now, something they used to be famous for. The sauce is gross and runny, and the fries have too much cinnamon? When they got rid of their head cook, they lost all their recipes too it seems. It seems like everyone in town stopped going there because it's gotten so bad so they've raised their prices. $12.75 for a bacon cheeseburger?? Are you serious? The only pros about this place is that they play most football games that are blacked out or not aired in the area, and they have a good outdoor seating area when the weather is warm. He played around and joked about our indecisiveness. He wished the two birthday girls a happy birthday and smiled the entire night. The atmosphere was fun and light. there were patrons at tables and at sitting at the bar. the huge tv sets lining the walls helped to fill any person's boredom with the current topic of conversation and the sports memorabilia was displayed nicely. The many autographed celeb shots to Kellie, makes you want to get to know her. The only problem i had was with the Philly Cheese Steak i ordered. The steak was more like deli meat instead of sauteed nicely with the onions and peppers which i would have preferred, and the bread was not toasted. I was dissapointed. After we finished our meal and our drinks we were not rushed. We were allowed to linger and play on the hockey (foosball like-bring quarters) table. There was plenty of room for our party to switch chairs periodically to chitchat with a new group. We did not get any weird looks while we went through out ritualistic goodbyes of three minute hugs, loud laughter, trying to plan the next outing, and discussing the plans for after dinner. Came here with a bunch of people for the first time and they didn't have enough tables inside to fit us all so some of us had to sit outside. I ordered the appetizer plate which consisted of buffalo wings, calamari and nachos. I was one of the first people to order and was the last person to get there food. I waited about 40 minutes until my food came. I was disappointed because by the time my food came everyone was done and ready to leave. The food was overpriced and I would prefer to eat fast food then come here and wait 40 minutes for my food again. The service was super slow and it took forever to get my bill, and to get my credit card back. I've never been to a restaurant with such slow service before. read more

Went here for dinner for a birthday party the other week and had reservations and all. When we got there it seemed like they had something going on in the banquet room. They seated us right away and took our orders. After our waiter put in our orders he comes back to tell us that our food won't be ready for another 45 minutes to an hour. We asked if we can have chips or anything to hold the kids over, since it was going to be a very long wait, but they said that they couldn't give us anything. We ended up leaving to go to another restaurant to eat. How are you going to allow us to make reservations if you can't even accommodate us. We were told that they were short staffed, but that is no excuse. If you knew that you had a big party in the banquet room then why didn't you have enough employees to cover the front. As we were heading out, I noticed other customers who were also complaining to their waiters. That is very unacceptable!!! read more

The place isn't that busy on a Wednesday night! An why do I have to ask other staff for napkins? Oh--because the waitress did not give me napkins when she brought my plate of food. So much for being an attentive server. I am sorry but not even jazz is going to save this place. You need quality servers. My family of 15 had reservations to sit on the patio for dinner on a Sunday evening . At the time , they neglected to tell they wet hosting a party in their party room. We waited nearly 30 mins for our food and asked how long it would be . We were told 50-60 mins at the least because they were hosting a party in the banquet room. We kindly asked if we could have french fries or something to hold the children off . Although our waiter was extremely nice , we were told that they couldn't even provide any type of appetizers , not even french fries !!!!! Absolutely ridiculous !!! If they knew they were hosting a large party , why in the world would they book a reservation for 15 people ? As we were leaving , we were stopped by a table of 4 how indicated that they were waiting over an hour. Get it together people, your service sucks!!!! Worth a stop and see. Keep changing, VBC! Service - Good. Knowledgable staff will help. Clean? Yes. Quality? Brews were all very fresh and had high quality, true to character flavor profiles. Ease of access? Get out your GPS and do your research. Can be tough parking. Overall - A little slow, a bit quiet, but I feel a good vibe here for craft brew. Give this place a shot. Maybe it was the time I ate there (a little after 5), and my waitress was awesome. My fellow educators and I decided to get some early dinner and some dranks after teaching. We shared the Gourmet Mac n' Cheese and the Combo Appetizer Platter (we chose: cheesy garlic fries, fried calamari, beer-battered onion rings), and a few pear ciders. Everything was delicious and our waitress was kind enough to provide for us ALL of their sauces because we are all so damn indecisive. The name is a little misleading, I thought this was a local brewery.. So when I came here for my first time, I was slightly disappointed. The beers they have on tap aren't really from local breweries as they have Green Flash and Ballast Point, both located in San Diego. I came here for an event where they provided us appetizers like carrots, cookies and celery. The snacks they had weren't all too great, maybe the next time I swing by, I'll try something on the menu. They only had four cocktails on the menu for the event but the bartender would make anything requested. Each cocktail was around $7 each and they were in a similar size as a shot glass... So I didn't think it was worth the price especially since the cocktail had more juice than alcohol. Another occasion I came here to watch the Warriors v cavs game with a few friends. I didn't order anything other than beer, but my friend had a sandwich and two beers and his total was around $30! This place is a little overpriced but it is a good spacious restaurant to come here to watch sports and have some beer. read more

Valley Brewing Company is as good as it gets. Their micro-brews are top notch and service is always great. My sister brought me here on my 21st birthday and I have been coming here since. Lately I have been frequenting this place more often since my buddies loved the $5 pitchers of beer on Sundays, but they have since relinquished this practice. I don't care, the beer is definitely worth the price that they charge per pitcher and with a DD we like to stay and order a few more pitchers and even partake of their food. Last year, I met up with one of my former co-workers to have lunch and catch up. I had never had the food before and decided to order their turkey burger with cole slaw instead of fries (damn diet). I was not disappointed. I cannot find, for the life of me, a better turkey burger in all of Stockton. I failed to realize that day that the bartender Adam was a former co-worker of mine from years back when we both worked at the Sherwood Mall, he always hooks me up if I catch him on the weekdays. Nowadays, I like to come here to hang out and sip on the India Pale Ale, the Luna Blanca, or if I'm feeling brave the Uber Hoppy. If you can catch them on the right day try the Berry Wheat (haha), it is so delicious. To top it off they have the most beautiful servers in Stockton and they always give me great service with a smile. If gorgeous women aren't on the agenda that day they have enough sports playing on the numerous TV's that will keep you occupied. BEER: Great beers on tap and in rotation. Knowledgeable bartenders that are willing to get creative with their beer pours. FOOD: We have had a lot of their food....Lots of good fried food, fried shrooms are our go-to, the mac n cheese was awesome, french dip was so-so, the Monte Christo was good. I don't think even the salads there are health but that's not what you go there for. SPORTS: Plenty of TVs so you can get your fill of every sport in season, all simultaneously.
