When my family entered the restaurant, we immediately like the rustic country decor. We were immediately greeted by a woman who confirmed our reservations and showed us to our table. The restaurant was quickly filling up and it took a few moments for a server to come to our table. After about 15-20 minutes it seemed like the staff got it going and food was coming out to tables and customers that ordered the Mother's Day brunch were getting their food quickly. My kids ordered the chocolate chip pancakes. One with game and one with sausage. My daughter is very picky with her pancakes and ate them all. I had the brunch. I had eggs Benedict, spinach omelette, ham and cheese omelette, bacon, fresh fruit, and two croissants. The food was delicious and fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to stopping by again.

Over the course of dinner, the place never really filled up. And as the evening went on, I found out why. I will say that the food was very good - we asked for the Clams Casino and the Mozzarella Wedge. Soup of the day was New England Clam Chowder, it was nice and thick and loaded with both potatoes and clams. Definitely one of the better ones I've had. Dinner was the BLI Burger, which my wife tells me was very good but no better than quite a few deli's in Syracuse. I ordered the Truffle Gnocci and Scallops, which was expensive for the portion I got - they tried to make it look bigger by serving it in a large bowl but no one was fooled. About 6 gnocci and 3 scallops with some mushroom risotto. Pathetic. Then came the coup de grace... two filet au poivre with the Lazy Surf and Turf. What does this really mean, you might ask? Well, instead of getting a lobster tail they pull the meat out and serve it in a bowl of butter for you. Hence, "lazy" - you don't have to do any work. And they charge exorbitantly for this service. So the price was $74 for the steak with an additional upcharge of $28 for the "lazy" lobster tail. One guest got the lobster tail, one didn't. Was it good? Yes. Was it worth the price? Absolutely not - I've been to Chicago and gotten a better, larger cut of steak for far less than this. So for dinner the bill came to a little over $300 (not including tip). Ridiculous to pay for 4 dinners and a few appetizers, especially when one of them was a burger and fries. I could have gone to the Grotto in North Syracuse, gotten bigger portions, better quality food and spent about half as much. As it stands, I won't be back - not because of the food quality or the service, but because the prices are far too much for far too little.

I actually decided it would be OK to check out, as from the road it appeared very well kept. The owner Mark was very friendly and accomodating. Although the motel probably dates back to the 60's or 70's, eveything was very clean and in perfect working order. It was comfortable and quiet, and served our purpose well while working a contract at a local hospital. Will stay again if the needs arise!!!

(There were two rooms but no door between them to make a true suite.) Then, the dirty and dingy area rugs - get rid of them! The hall carpeting also needs vacuuming, if not replacing. The room has a little 30 inch TV sitting in the extra-large living room with absolutely no way to stream content, even with my Roku gear because the remote has no Input button. The room also lacks noise deadening draperery even though we were on main street! You get it. Then, the leather couch, hot in the summer and cold in the winter - go figure! Also, this couch is also so deep that your feet can't reach the floor unless you slide halfway down the couch, or you're 6 ft 4--either one! And no wifi!  Staff said they were trying to reset their router, but no results ever showed up. This could be a "high-end" place if the proprietors only cared enough, but apparently they don't. It's the little things and the "extras" that count.

In a time of impersonal online reservation systems and automated greetings, it's nice to find a B&B like Lincklaen House that sticks to its charming roots (and yes, they personally call your room in the AM). While giving some guest lectures up at Caz College, I had the pleasure of staying overnight and enjoying both breakfast and lunch on site to boot. Complimentary breakfast is provided for overnight visitors, and consists of waffles, yogurts, breads, fruits, coffee, tea, and juice. Better yet, we got to enjoy everything in the enclosed courtyard, with radiant heat floors warming up an already cozy space. Lunch options at the tavern are as hearty as they are heavy...come hungry! The Lincklaen House seems to be the locals' go-to for meetings, meals, and everything in between, and there was no shortage of activity on premises as I was in and out throughout the day. Staff were terrific from start to finish, and they even provided me a gift basket and complimentary bottle of wine upon my arrival. Coupled with the 2-minute walking distance to the Caz Campus and I couldn't possibly imagine a better place to stay in Cazenovia!

When I found their website, I was immediately attracted to the decor. I LOVE antiques! We booked our stay for the Tiffany Rose suite. Shortly after we booked our stay, we received an email from Barry. He asked if we were staying for anything inparticular (wedding, anniversary, etc.). He also asked if we had any dietary restrictions because he prepares breakfast every morning of your stay. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by both Barry and Denise. They gave us a tour of the Victorian and then showed us to our room. I was in awe from the moment we pulled in the driveway. They also gave us some ideas for places to eat and things to do. Now let me tell you about breakfast...all I can say is WOW! Our 1st morning we walked downstairs to the smell of bacon and piano music playing. We walked into the dining room to find 2 beautiful place settings for us, with juice, coffee and fresh fruit waiting. Denise came out and grabbed our plates, then brought them back out with the most delicious breakfast. We got to start our morning with a crustless quiche, hashbrowns, and "my dad's bacon", as Barry called it. So we got to start our morning, and every morning we were there, with full, happy bellies. It was a great start to each morning! Each morning was something different, but equally delicious. If I have my choice, I will skip hotels and stick with B&Bs. If you are traveling to the Herkimer/Cooperstown area and not traveling with children under 13, I highly recommend the Raindrops on Roses B&B.
