This is a local place that opened in Verona Beach and we thought we would give it a try for breakfast. They also offer rooms as a B&B. Service was good. The owner, Rhonda even stopped to check on us a few times, which to me is key, especially for a new business that opened. They offer a nice menu for breakfast and lunch items with daily specials. Maple walnut French toast special was very good but what was better were served Hot - potato home fries. Excellent with great flavor. Egg omelets - Garden was also very good. Prices seem reasonable for the food portion. They have it set up really nice inside - walk up counter if you want to take out or table service with plenty of seating. Worth a try when in the area.

It's a great local place with good food and friendly people. Breakfast and lunch are good. They also have some Glutten free options.

Well, today's the day. I looked on Google to see what time they opened. It said they open at 8:30 on Tuesdays. That's wrong, they open at 7:30 like every other day. So, we totally could have went there earlier but 8:30 was still great for us. This venue is absolutely cute! I love all the tables for outside dining in the front. It was a little muggy out this morning so we opted to sit inside. Walking inside, I love how charming this place is! I can tell this used to be a bar in it's previous life. The way they remodeled it to change it to what it is now is just beautiful! I love the breakfast bar area. I really wanted to sit there but my daughter wanted a booth. Adeline greeted us with her beautiful smile after we sat. She got drinks started while we looked over the menu. The menu is quite broad and they have a little of everything. For breakfast I ordered the rise and shine. Your traditional breakfast of eggs, toast, home fries and toast. My daughter got the crab cakes and eggs. While we waited for breakfast, we enjoyed coffee and orange juice. The coffee wasn't the hottest but it was still good with the vanilla creamer. Breakfast came out on huge plates. Everything looked so good, especially the home fries. I'm a sucker for potatoes. The eggs were cooked perfectly, nice and runny in the middle, the toast was buttery, the home fries had a nice light char on them and soft in the middle. I did get a side of sausage gravy for my home fries but it didn't tickle my fancy, The potatoes were good without it. I did get to try some of my daughter's crab cake. It was very tasty! I initially was going to get the crab cakes but I got a couple bites of my daughter's so win win on having a little of everything. I also got a ham breakfast melt to go for my husband. It was so good I went back and ordered another one for my sons. Both sammys were demolished. I think it's a must go come to the Pancake House while you're visiting Slyvan Beach. The venue is darling. The staff is super sweet. And they push out good food! You can't get any better than that. I look forward to eating here the next time we are visiting.

Next I want to let you know to arrive exceptionally hungry. Portions are insanely huge and I don't know anyone who could possibly eat as much as they bring out. The Dutch Babies were a rare treat, the pancakes gigantic and hearty, and the three-egg omelet was massive. No one at our table was able to finish everything, and we hadn't even had dinner the night before. Service was great in spite of the busyness of the place and our coffee was refilled every time our cups were nearly empty. A great place to try when you're in the Buffalo area.

Really decent coffee at 10 cents a cup and unending refills are frosting on the cake. Add in one terrific waitress (Sherry) and other staff that ensured we always had a full cup of joe and that our table lacked for nothing and it adds up to a great outing. Breakfast itself was very basic diner fare -- eggs, toast, and the usual staples. Nothing fancy, but it was inexpensive and filled the plate. The atmosphere gave me strong old truck-stop diner vibes. Some people may appreciate that nostalgic roadside feel, but for me the restaurant felt a bit dirty and very worn down, like it hasn't had much maintenance or updating in quite a long time. One of the people dining with me ordered a lunch special of beef and mashed potatoes, and unfortunately it was extremely greasy and didn't seem freshly made. It was bad enough that they couldn't finish it. Another downside for me was that the diner is cash-only. We rarely carry cash, so we had to use the ATM, which added extra cost to the visit. Overall, Flo's is definitely a very old-school diner experience -- cheap food, tiny coffee prices, and a truck-stop style atmosphere. I'm sure that works perfectly for some people looking for a quick, inexpensive meal, but it just wasn't the right fit for me.

Okay so grab a cup of coffee, this read might take a minute…read more.. First off, I've read some of the comments that have been left by other people, and all I can say is that some of you need to lighten up a little bit. This is not a five-star restaurant. Quite honestly this isn't even a four-star restaurant, it's a freaking diner. Eddie's restaurant started in 1934 as a hot dog stand. My parents used to go here back in the 1960s before I even existed, they used to bring my sister and I here in the 1970s. I'm pretty sure all they had back then was probably a deep fryer and a flat top. So anyway, partially because of the fact I haven't been here in about 40 years, and my mom hadn't been here in a couple years anyway (her and dad still used to frequent the place from time to time).. I picked her up and took her for Mother's Day. Upon entering this place, not a lot has changed. The basic layout of the dining room is the same as it was back in the 1970s, I think the chairs and and the booths might even be the same, I mean yeah reupholstered I'm sure but the golden color on the chairs I believe I remember from back in the 1970s. I'm sure this is actually part of the reason that people still frequent this place as often as they do. It's modern as far as I'm sure the kitchen is concerned however the dining area is almost like a step back into time. So anyway, we were seated and a waitress came up rather quickly. Her name was Anna, and she rocked. I like to bust chops from time to time and I will occasionally try it with wait staff at various restaurants, and although it doesn't always go very well, Anna picked up on this and fed it right back to me beautifully. She of course also did everything that a good waitress should be doing like checking on us a couple times and making sure we had everything. The food itself, I'm not going to lie wasn't that great. Okay I know you're thinking wait a minute this guy gave the place five stars but now he says the food isn't that great. I didn't say the food was bad, but I will go back to my previous comment and remind everybody that this is basically just a diner. I had the chicken and biscuits which was on special. It was good but it wasn't spectacular. Honestly it was a little bland I found myself using salt and pepper a couple of times. I'm 99% sure it was not made to order they probably had a big 10 gallon bucket of it on a burner somewhere in the kitchen, and they just gave me a couple scoops. Regardless of the fact that I didn't think it was spectacular it was just as I had expected it to be. I've had chicken and biscuits at many places and it tasted exactly right. My wife ordered a honey garlic pork dish which in my humble opinion was awesome. Kind of wish I had gotten that instead but, when I saw chicken and biscuits I just ordered it because that's what I do. The overall experience was perfectly fine. Like I said it's what I expected from this particular restaurant . The place was clean, including the bathrooms, everybody was very professional, it was rather busy being Mother's Day and it didn't really take that long for anything to come out to the table. (Yeah I know how long does it take to grab a couple scoops of chicken out of a 10 gallon bucket and put it on a plate but still they had to prepare my wife's meal so... the service was good) If I lived closer I would go back to this place a lot more often. I will also admit that my giving it five stars, some of you may be thinking well this guy has fond memories of Eddie's restaurant so of course he's going to throw it a high score, and yeah you're probably right. But this is my review and I can pretty much do what I want . So anyway, I definitely recommend Eddie's if you're in the Sylvan Beach area, and Anna, if you're reading this, awesome job...

While we were waiting, we checked out the menu and the delicious pies they had on display. We were finally sat. Kristy took care of us tonight. It did take a minute for her to get to us. She was hustling a few tables. Drinks were ordered and we all breezed over the dinner menu. The menu is quite broad. Breakfast, lasagna, seafood, sandwiches... You name it, they got it. I ordered a bowl of clam chowder and shrimp cocktail for dinner. My daughter got the famous fish plate and my son got the tuna melt. Of course I was going to have a bite of their meals too. Clam chowder came out first. So did fresh rolls and homemade croutons for the soup. The rolls were good. I appreciate the amount of butter they give you. I love some bread with my butter. The homemade croutons were so good! They were savory and buttery! You added them babies to the clam chowder, delicious! The clam chowder was thick and hearty! Lots of potatoes and corn. It was on the cold side though. It was good but I'm sure it would have been better hot. The portion of the soup was huge! We all ordered cups and they were all bowl sized. Dinner came out and everyone's plates looked good. My daughter got two chunky pieces of fish on her plate. My son's tuna melt was thick with tuna. My shrimp cocktail looked really fresh. I honestly thought there would be more than just 5 pieces of shrimp. The shrimp wasn't the biggest. The cocktail sauce was heavy with horseradish and it was so good! The tuna melt was ok. My daughter's fish fry was tasty! It was fried perfectly and not too oily. The fresh haddock they use is so good. The fries were fried soft, my favorite. We were too full for dessert but thier huge dessert menu sounded so good. Maybe next time! Food was decent at Eddie's. The price point is pretty high but you do get decent portions, especially if you order fish. You can tell this joint has been a long time staple for Slyvan beach. I'm happy I got to try this local joint out. Kristy did a great job and it was fun to be with my family at this local joint.
