Outstanding training and experience with Valley Defense. Took the CCW course there over the weekend. You get what you pay for and more with Vince. I learned new techniques and proper handling in a fairly stress free setting. I say "fairly" stress free because you're handling a firearm and that comes with a degree of inherent stress. Vince and his team are very professional and extremely knowledgable. If you're like me, you probably worry about how your going to look, perform and shoot while on the range. Don't be worried! Vince, Bob and Julio (spelling?) did a great job at making everyone feel at ease and gradually bumped up the training at a reasonable pace for everyone. Unlike most gun shops I've been too, where the kid behind the counter is just trying to make you look like a fool for not buying the most expensive gun on the shelf, Vince and his team are very humble and truly made us feel like we were family by the end of the class. If you're looking for proper education, pertinent discussion, useful training and great customer service...get into a class with Valley Defense. They are truly an exception when it comes to the world of firearms training and education. Already looking forward to signing up for another class. Then the guy has the lack of integrity to actually contact my local Sheriff and tell him that I hurt the guy's feelings and he shouldnt issue me my Concealed Carry Permit!!! I've been to other CCW courses in this area and this is by far the best and extensive CCW instruction I have had. They not only tell you but show you and have you practice drills until it is "coming out of your ears" -- er, so to speak. It is money well spent and worth every penny. Finished my 16 hour CCW class, passed with no problem, "it`s actually about 12 1/2 hours". Received my certificate, and then the main trainer "Vince" calls the sheriffs dept. to tell them I hurt his feelings, and they should not issue me my Constitutional Right to a CCW. I paid about $250 for this class and then this guy does everything in his power to deny me my CCW!!!! Talk about a brazen lack of integrity!!! If you use VD, you risk not only your money and time, you also risk losing your 2nd Amendment Rights!!! This place is HIGHLY unethical!!! read more

Just finished my 2-day CCW class today with Valley Defense and could not have been more impressed. The teaching time on day 1 was informative, helpful, and filled with interesting stories/scenarios. And the range time on day 2 was equally excellent. Vince, Christie, and Vern are top-notch professionals and wonderful instructors. They kept things at a fast pace, with little down time, but I never felt rushed or that they were giving me more information than a neophyte like me could handle. They don't put up with negligence (i.e., finger on trigger when not ready to shoot, pointing your muzzle where it shouldn't be, etc.). And that's as it should be. I finished my two day CC class in January with Valley Defense and I was very impressed with their professionalism. Vince and Christie are true professionals and great instructors. They keep things moving at a fast pace, but not so fast the newbie will be left behind. Again, Vince was an excellent instructor. This is my second interaction with his training. My first was in 1994 at an MJC firearms training class. I just took their 16 hour ccw class and am extremely happy that I went with Valley Defense. They offer a safe learning environment and have extra help on the range to keep eyes on everyone and lend a hand if you need it. They give one on one attention to individuals who are struggling with technique or bad habits, They will show you how to deal with malfunctions in your gun and expect you to know how to do it yourself by the end of class. Their students are not hurried through instruction but are given time to learn things the right way. I now feel proficient and much more comfortable with a hand gun. The shooting was fun and the drills focused on accuracy at times and speed at other times. These people care that you are doing things the correct way and that they are sending responsible gun owners out into society. The stories the staff tell are very informative and entertaining. I don't know how else i can explain Valley Defense, I just went there for my CCW class and left there, missed their fun right away. I learned things i didnt know i can ever do, from stance to speed and the perfect shot at the target to where and when they say it.
