I like to keep my money local instead of shopping at a larger chain and Valley Farm Market fits the bill. Fruits and vegetables are always top notch but the customer service is in the dumpster. The cashier at the register was leaning down on her hand with a bored and tired look on her face talking with two other cashiers. I had to get her attention in order to check out. I said to her that she seemed bored. She replied yes and she said she couldn't wait to go home. She keeps talking with the other cashiers as she's scanning my groceries. I pay her and she hands me my change without eye contact or a smile. She mumbled " have a good day " Look Valley, I understand your not paying these young girls huge amounts of money to act friendly but come on, this was blatantly poor service and something that people with many store choices don't have to put up with. Next time it's Giant Foods for me. They will take my money out of town and probably out of state but at least I wont have to put up with this garbage. read more

The deli is fresh and reasonable, the meats and fish are the best around. The bakery is excellent.

Excellent meat and vegetables that are fresh and well priced. There is also a large selection (for a small market) of PA dutch foods and bulk foods, such as pasta and grains. They have the very best crab cakes in the Valley. Better then Fresh Market and Wegmans. Yes, the check out people may not be the most customer friendly, but I haven't found them particularly rude and I've shopped there for years. Avoid the period between 2:20 - 3:00 when the kids from the nearby school come over. read more

I shop here because it is close to home. I like the fresh produce, meats, deli. Best all around from Redner's, Giant. You can't beat it unless you go to a local Farmer's Market. As far as the service as I read in other reviews, I've seen it like that everywhere , so I wouldn't stop going here just because of that. I've reached out and they are more friendly when you encourage it. I feel the products are better than the chain stores and that is fine by me. And supporting local business is more important as well. read more

Located right across from SMMS. I always like their produce section. The employees seem immature though.

I really like the produce, meats, and seafood. Prices on fruit and vegetables are less than other supermarkets. Their deli salads are fresh and taste homemade -- my family prefers them to those sold in the larger supermarkets. They make a delicious fresh chicken sausage with garlic once or twice a week. You can't always get it but when available I buy extra and freeze it. I like the young cashiers -- they seem to be having fun and are friendly. read more

AVOID THE ALLENTOWN LOCATION. Even if it's a drive, the Bethlehem store is exponentially better. I went to the store in Allentown in search of pre-cooked chicken (Purdue Short Cuts). After looking around the store, I asked an employee where I could find it. She said "I don't know", and walked away. A second employee did the same thing: said she didn't know, and made no effort to ask anyone else. Enraged, I tried searching once again on my own, but ended up leaving empty-handed. I usually only go to this store because it's close to where I work, but next time, I'll just go to Giant. read more

I love shopping here especially when I want to get fresh meats and wings. But the last few times I shopped there, the service was terrible. I stood at the deli counter for 15 mins, while the deli employees kept waking past me and my mom. They looked at me while my two younger kids were crying and they still didn't help us. I said something to the manager and they told us it was seasonal help and they would talk to them. I've been back twice since than and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. It maybe close to my house but I think I'll start driving a little farther out to do my shopping from now. read more

Since December, 2015, Valley Farm Market (on Emmaus Ave. in Allentown) changed ownership. It's now Superfood Marketplace and went from a hero to a zero in just a few days. No longer is there a choice between reduced produce, etc. Instead, Superfood tries to pass off such substandard items as grade A, first class products. In turn their inventory is not turning over and customers are receiving inferior products for increased prices. For example, on 1/7/16 I tried to buy seveal avocados. Every one that I touched was well past ripe and about 1/3 were so overripe that they felt like jelly. The prior owners instructed staff to pull such inferior products from the regular shelves and either put them on a discount rack or throw them out altogether. The new owners obviously don't care about the customer experience, hoping it's too much of an inconvenience for the customer to return defective items. Since early January our family has stopped shopping at Superfood Marketplace (where we have for over 20 years) and we've made the switch to Elias Markets in Allentown. They have a better selection of produce, far superior quality, and all for lower prices. For produce you can do much better by going just about anywhere else. Do yourself a favor and make the switch from Superfood Marketplace (formerly Valley Farm Market on Emmaus Ave. in Allentown). read more

I have been a long time shopper of Valley Farm Market. I loved the fresh produce, old time meat section and relatively friendly staff. However, over the past two years or so I have seen the quality of their produce and staff deteriorate. Over the past several months, I have purchased the following that have been inedible because they had gone bad....Guernsey Gift American Cheese, cantaloupe, mushrooms, stir-fry vegetable mix, watermelon, green pepper packs and Kreider's milk. I don't know if the problem lies within the refrigeration system or just a lack of interest in checking whether the products are fresh. When I mentioned to my cashier that I had gotten a bad watermelon the week before, she asked the manager who told me that without my receipt, they couldn't help me. Really? I've been shopping there more than 10 years. Recently, I was shopping in the produce section when I smelled something rotten, my husband walked around to see if he could find the smell. There were rotten cantaloupes on the end cap right near the front door with flies all over them. I'm tired of waiting 10 minutes or more for deli meats while the staff chat about their weekends, dates and kids. Unfortunately, we've decided to find a new grocery store. read more
