Okay, so is it strange I'm reviewing a grocery store? Maybe. But if you grew up in Pennsylvania, you probably feel me. Wegman's is more than a grocery store, it's an institution. I recently made a trip back to PA to visit my family and took my husband here to experience it. While he didn't quite get the fuss, he still really enjoyed it. And felt like it was a cross between a Whole Foods and a regular grocery store. I made him follow me through the Chinese food section, and made our way to the bakery to get some fresh bagels. I picked out a dozen and watched as his jaw dropped. I never eat bagels in LA, unless they're the gluten free kind. I'm not allergic to gluten. But I've totally embraced the LA craze of zero gluten. Clearly, my diet rules are all off when in PA! We made our way halfway through the store and he was beyond shocked and full of questions. How can a grocery store be this large? How can they have a whole aisle dedicated to potato chips? And should we get a container of Chinese food to go? Sounds like I got a Wegman's convert. He'll never want to shop at a Whole Foods again! read more

I love Wegmans more than any other store! I worked there all through college and I genuinely loved working there. The store overall has a huge selection of food from all around the world and they have tons of artisan foods (as well as the normal staples). The one thing I especially love about Wegmans is they have a huge beer selection. I'm a big beer fan and they have over 590 different kinds, available in 4 packs, 6 packs, 12 packs, and individual bottles. If you love craft beer, imported beer, and all other kinds of beer, this is definitely your place. Word of advice though, due to PA's archaic liquor laws, Wegmans can sell beer because they have the beer and prepared foods (subs, pizza, chinese food) area designated as a restaurant. Consequently, you can only purchase 192 fl oz. of beer at a time. You can take the beer out to your car, come back, and purchase more, but you're limited by that 192 fl oz. read more

First of all I'd like to say that the Bethlehem location is 100 times better and fresher then this location. Wegmans is great when it's run properly. This location is getting worse and worse. I got food poising from sushi and or Turkey sandwich this place is disgusting. I also over heard an employee very worried that the health department was there. What is going on in this store! Wegmans was always know for the excellent customer service and friendly staff. Not any more ! They are quick to answer, without help. I understand with covid, things have changed but, come on. There used to be 4 people at customer service, now your lucky if you find one. I got screamed at by the stockman because I couldn't find the item I needed. They used to count the amount of people in the store. PA is not in the free zone yet, nope...no one counting, people are shoulder to shoulder, no one is adhering to the six foot standards either. Come one Wegmans, get it together. read more

Huge, great selection, good prices, and open all night. What's not to like? Seriously, I couldn't help but wish we had some of these in CA. So much selection, and it's a really nice atmosphere. I rolled up at 1am, and the side entrance - which was closed. When I drove around to the main entrance, I was a bit wow'd - this place is like a super wal mart in size! Only, they don't have so many of the other kinds of products to distract them. People complain about prices being too high, but what I saw didn't seem unreasonable to me. It's certainly cheaper than Whole Foods. It's probably Publix level prices - a little more than your average neighborhood store, but you also get a nice experience included with it. This one also included an attached store thing called "the pub" which I have to guess is their store beer sales and restaurant arm. It was closed, so I didn't get a good look. Would definitely happily shop here or other Wegmans in the future. read more

Crazy busy as always. What I love about this market is that they carry a wide variety of selections especially beers. I think they have over 100 selections and they recently renovated their food court. I was fascinated by their enormous beer selections lol (I drink occasionally btw so pls don't get the wrong idea ha) Though they offer multiple cuisines and tasty too, they are a bit over-priced at their location ($8.99 lb?). I would more likely to accept if they are in the city but rent here I k now is much cheaper so should their price, in my opinion, does not match up to their geographic location esp. the quality of their selections. There is also table service as well. They have fresh bakery, deli, seafood, and poultry. Speaking of which, they recently opened a deli section where they sell hoagies similar to Subway. Much bigger but cost more tho. I think $8-9 dollars? Haven't tried so can't say if it's worth it or not. Sounds pricey I know, they are huge. Much bigger than the 1 foot at Subway. Then again, have to try to know if it's actually worth the bucks or not. Everything else is decent priced except for the ready to eat food in their food court While it is fun to shop, this place is overly crowded and very loud. Plenty of parking yet not very safe as for like I said this place is crowded which means there are lots of cars backing up and parking everywhere. Also, there's not enough room to turn out of the parking lot. It's very narrow. A car almost slam into our car while turning into the lot. I like it crowded whenever I'm cruising around, not always welcome the crowd esp when you're in a rush to buy food. read more

Don't use their catering unless you like your food cold. Upon arriving on time for our designated pickup time, we received trays which were cold to the touch. When asking why our food was cold, we were informed that they refrigerate their food immediately after cooking to protect against the humidity. It seemed like an odd procedure especially as we arrived at our pickup time. One might think food would be prepared with the pickup time in mind. We asked if we could reheat the food or if there were any instructions for reheating the food. We were told that they are intended to be eaten as is without heating. So we're served cold refrigerated food and told to eaten as is. The sad thing is that this probably could have been great. But no one likes eating frozen egg rolls or cold chicken. read more

I'm not from the area but love stopping here when I'm traveling to Allentown. Weis Markets and Giant Food Stores are very generic compared to Wegmans. The entrance leads you to the fruits and vegetables section or the fresh food area. I love the fresh foods section where you can get Sushi and they always have a Coca-Cola Freestyle. Why I prefer to shop here is they carry an excellent international selection with Mexican Coke by the case. In our area getting MexiCoke by the case is not easy. It also helps that Coca-Cola Bottling Company of the Lehigh Valley uses sugar in their products year around and they are stocked here. They also carry a good selection of Pocky and Kasugai Gummies. Employees have always been nice and enthusiastic and they do have a store card if you are not a regular customer so you can get the sale prices. I've never had a reason to use the self-checkout as they usually have enough staff at the registers. It's a shame the nearest location to me is an hour way, I would love to shop here more often. read more

It has a lot of different food and the place is great but if u don't like crowds I would go early the later it gets the more people are there . The only thing is that they don't have plastic bags they only have paper bags so if you don't want paper bring your own bag but if you use their paper bags they will charge you $.05 a bag. read more

I LOVE WEGMANS AND I DON'T CARE WHO KNOWS IT. I live in N Jersey but my parents live in Allentown Pa. We always bring a big cooler home with us when we visit and stock our grocery's full at Wegmans. The prices are significantly cheaper than Jersey and the selection of organic food is identical. Their prepared foods are so easy to heat up when you're on the go and want a nice "home cooked" meal for dinner. I can't wait to move to the suburbs and have my own Wegmans to go to! read more

This place isn't really a supermarket anymore, it's more like a destination. I stopped in during rush hour and somehow, someway they kept things moving. While my better half went shopping I found the pizza station where I got two huge slices and a drink for 6 bucks. A grocery store? NO! A market? Closer. Heaven? Yes. Everything you could ever want under one gigantic roof. Candy like you remember as a child, fill up your own bag and weigh it out but as many gummy worms or bears as you desire. Of course they have groceries, and once you've gotten the store down it's huge interior becomes less intimidating and easier to navigate. They stocked organic before organic was cool- these guys are innovators. Besides the grocery aisles let's talk about the market... lunch or dinner this is a great place to stop in and eat with someone when you can't decide what you want! Delicious bread, the other day I had some Apple Cider bread HOLY WHAAA... best desert bread I've ever had. Big fan of their stuffing and mashed potatoes, tiramisu and hot prepared meats and veggies. Love sitting on the top balcony and eating my food while you watch others shopping below you. And now they have beer?!?! Geez. One stop shop to paradise. read more

It never occurred to me to use a supermarket as a rest stop on a long car ride. This is probably because we do not pass many Wegmans along our routes, but this time, we were in luck, and smart. While traveling back home to NYC from a trip to Pittsburgh, we needed to make a stop, as one does on long rides. We were desperate to move our legs, use a bathroom, get gas and have lunch. As my better half had time to play with her phone and, as she is from Rochester, she is always on the look out for Wegmans and found this one not far off the interstate. In a few minutes off the exit, we were stretching our legs, experiencing a clean bathroom break and a selection of lunch options to please everyone in our group. The upstairs cafe was a great respite before piling back into the car. Thank you, Wegmans, for yet another great experience and making me rethink stopping during a road trip. read more

I'll never understand the hype around this Wegman's. Always overcrowded, usually out of some sort of produce, and poorly laid out. Finding something in the aisle's of this grocery store is like finding a needle in the haystack. It is hard to see the overhead signs from far away and the isles are always to crowded with people trying to rush by you that if you stop for a minute to take a look at something you may get run over. The fact that it was 24 hours made all the better. No other supermarket comes close to touching wegmans...from the glorious fountain in front of this location, to the cheese and produce. Oh yeah let me tell you about wegmens this grocery store is fabulous incredible amazing and just overall fantastic ! I go here get my chicken leg and go to the salad bar yummy goodness. Could you get this stuff at weis ? Absolutely not. I even get my liquor here for the girls night when we play twister and order dominos. I would give it a 4.5 stars, but since the rating only allows either 4 or 5, I give it a 5. Why? Good question, this is one of the few places that I enjoy going to. It's nice and clean, they recently updated the bathroom which is much better and easier access. Not that I go to their bathroom often, just throwing it out there if you ever need to stop by to do your 1, 2, or 3. The food sections are pretty good, but $8.99/lb is a bit overpriced. I live in NYC and the average price per pound is $6.99. These are also DELI prices. I used to go their for their breakfast and they offer the Smoked Salmon at their $8.99/lb pricing which is a good deal and it's only up till 11am or 12pm. BUT they stopped that and instead put them in individually wrapped bags that has the price of $21.99/lb. This should be a breakfast special offering. Their smoked salmon ready to eat breakfast shouldn't be that expensive. There shouldn't be a need to put it there if that was the case. This is the real reason why I wanted to give .5 star less. As a Super Market, this place is truly a SUPER market. Great selections on every type of products. I think the beer selection is about 110+ and they have select your own beer 6 bottles for $12. That's cool if you want to give different ones a try. They have a bakery section, pizza section, COFFEE section, and even Sub Hero section. It's like an all-in-one stop shop. On a hot hot summer day and bored out of your mind? Just come in here and buy a coffee or anything and you can sit upstairs to relax and do some people watch. Some might find it creepy and some might..well still find it creepy, so just keep it a down low hahaha Once in a while they offer free-to-try samples of what Wegman's are offering. Pretty neat, but I noticed it's always in the Veggie and Fruits area. Towards the back and middle aisles are the snack section which I am a frequent visitor lol. Great selection and they even have asian/indian snacks and food! I forgot to mention that they have 2 RedBox vending machine outside which is a great add. Most places only have one so that's a thumbs up. I like the fact that they have the large and small carts. Hate lugging around the big ones when all you really need is a small one. read more

I really do like Wegmans. For a supermarket, it has an incredible variety of all sorts of food. Everything from their fresh food (bakery, deli, seafood, meats, fruits, veggies) to their organic section is highly attractable. The place is a bit pricey but I'm convinced you are paying for better quality products. My only complaint about this Wegmans, and sadly all the wegmans in the valley area is that the people that work there are mean and somewhat rude. Love me some Wegman's...but I don't love the crowds. But it's so worth it. They have the best produce and bakery items, you can't get decent produce at any of the other major grocery chains. And their seafood and meat departments are the best, I LOVE a place that encourages you to pick out your own piece of steak or salmon, so you can get than marbling that is just so...or the salmon with the perfect thickness. If you like cheeses, there is an amazing selection and someone behind the counter to help you decide or suggest food pairings. Their staples tend to be a little more expensive than at Giant...but I'll pay a little more to be able to get good produce and everything else all in one shot. Since I am new to the LV, I was really annoyed with the beer/liquor laws. I love that I can go into Wegman's and get a decent six pack or 12 pack, but be aware: the most one person can buy at one time is a single 12-pack. What's up with this state's antiquated beer laws? Eh, it's not Wegman's fault - they're doing their best to legally circumvent the laws and make it convenient to buy beer. Good stuff! read more

Wegman's is my grocery store. I am here almost every day, I also live a mile away. The store is great, awesome prepared foods and great marketplace for lunch and dinner to go. I am hooked on their bagels. I would tell you which kind but I want them to be there when I go :-) Their Chocolate PB cake is awesome. I have endless praise for the store, here are my few complaints: They moved the lotto machines back to the doorway of the exit. You have to navigate around grandma's with carts to get out of the store, I wish they would find a better place for it. The store has ALOT of displays and end caps, in most places of the store only two carts fit through, it makes it hard to zoom around the store to quickly grab and go. read more

Wegmans also just started to sell wine from the huge vending machine! Another cool addition to Wegmans is the electronic wine bar. Wegman's was rated #1 grocery store in the country. In my experience H-E-B is better even though they were rated #7. This Wegman's location is average. If you're a late evening or nighttime shopper, popular items won't be there such as Tuna Salad, Sourdough bread, Coffee Mate coffee creamer, any or all deli lunch meat and deli cheese, etc. Now, I have to ask: If it's worth staying open late, isn't it worth keeping your shelves stocked? My hubs and I love the hot bar (although sometimes I feel they can't quite keep up with the demand for fresh refills on food) and they have a great selection of natural/ health foods. I love their hot food bar! They have the awesomest vegetable lentil chili which is a little bit spicy and just perfect. I also love the fact that I can walk down their 'Wokery' and scoop a bit of any Asian dishes I wish to have for lunch. If you love variety on your plate, this is a hot lunch spot for you. However, beware, it's a little pricey. I always get a small soup (8oz) and three medium florets of broccoli and like 12 string beans and it costs me around $5.75... The supermarket is great too. We're Wegmans shoppers, but since this Wegmans is on the other side of the Valley, we don't make it to this location that often. The Allentown location appears bigger than the other two in the Valley, but it doesn't feel as upscale. The lines have always been longer than the ones in Bethlehem or Nazareth. But it's still Wegmans, so it's wonderful. As this one is larger, it has a larger selection of foods in the cafe. :) read more
