They have a pretty good selection of Middle Eastern foods. They carry both cooked and regular grocery foods. The cooked foods smelled and looked wonderful but I did not purchase any. I was a little bummed that they didn't have ground lamb so I had to go somewhere else, but other than that, they had a pretty wide variety of meats and seafood. The cooked food prices looked very reasonable for the amount of food that came with the dishes. The employees were friendly and helped me locate the items I was looking for. It was pretty busy in there and a little bit hectic, but still a good experience. read more

Placed a catering order here based off my brother in laws recommendation and they did not disappoint! The order in total was around $300 since it was like a 15-20 person event. I went to the counter and the lady was super helpful. She found my order and got it all together. The whole process took about 10-15 minutes. The store itself was pretty busy and there isn't the biggest parking lot but definitely worth the drive to have some delicious food! read more

Wow.. super crowded market and bakery combined with a hot food counter.. I've tried a few of the sandwiches which a served on still warm bakery rolls with incredible aroma and flavor... great portion size and I think only $7 or $8... You can watch them baking the bread and cooking the various foods.. The Iraqi pizza are thin flat breads topped with various fillings only $1.99 which is an insane value.. Amazing service ! I called and spoke to Rasha with Valley Food Catering for my sons baptism and it was the best service I've received. She helped me decide how much food I needed for the the baptism. She kept in touch with me from beginning to end to make sure I had a great party. Fantastic food. My coworkers picked up some holiday food for those of us who didn't have anything to do on Xmas and they brought me back a falafel plate and a Greek salad. The pickled veggie salad was to die for. Falafel was fantastic especially paired with the hummus and bread. Rasha is the one who recommended the dishes and I will definitely visit myself. Valley Foods is a full service market that also specializes in authentic Iraqi cuisine. We are famous for our Shawarma and ground beef Kabob. Shawarma is thinly sliced beef that is stacked and cooked in a similar way to Greek Gyros. The difference, however, is that Shawarma meat fresh and it's not processes. The spices we use along with the way it is cooked gives our Shawarma its amazing flavor. We also make Chicken Shawarma and they are most popular in a sandwich. Ground Beef Kabob is an Iraqi favorite. We use the best quality beef and cook it over an open flame. Besides our Beef Kabob, we also serve Ground Chicken Kabob, Chicken Breast Tikka Kabob, and Beef Filet Tikka Kabob. Tikka kabobs are marinated chunks of beef or chicken on a skewer and cooked over an open flame. Valley Foods also has many vegetarian options like Falafel, Hummus, Veggie Armenian Pizzas, Cheese Pies, and various salads.

Valley Foods opened its doors on April 1, 2010. Our vision was to open a full service Mediterranean Market where customers can shop for groceries and enjoy fresh authentic Middle Eastern cuisine home made in our kitchen. The family has been in the grocery store business for over 20 years. Prior to that, our father operated one of the most successful and well-known restaurants back home. Valley Foods combines the two businesses and our experience is the secret to our success.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. it will typically be one wrap per person cut in half. So a total of 20 wraps, 40 pieces.

Hello Ann. Thank you for your question. We have a 10 person combo, which can be doubled for 20 people. Shawarma sold by the pound and the 10 person combo has 1 pound of beef, Shawarma and 1 pound of chicken Shawarma.

Valley Foods, a small grocery store in El Cajon, I love this store. It is not fancy store. It is a nice place to do some interesting shopping. The store has a few aisles, a small meat department and even smaller fish selection and a small vegetable department. There are three cash registers when I walk in. I order chicken schawarma and the kabobs, pay and have a seat. My chicken schawarma plate is so good. The moist, grilled meat is a hefty portion and comes with lettuce, tomato, house made pickles and house made hummus and a small, hot piece of flat bread, which is made in the store. I really like the kabobs here, not only moist, but so fresh, flavorful and large. Oops! I am here not to eat only, but I am here to shop also. I am thrilled by many types of olives, some pickled vegetables and various Feta cheese. I ordered Valley Foods off Door Dash. It came so fast and so fresh. We had the Beef Shawarma wrap. It was so good the meat was so lean and flavorful. We also got the Greek Salad. I have no idea how they make the dressing but, it is AMAZING! I would suggest this option any day for a office lunch or just those days when you want quality food for lunch and want to skip the fast food option. The Iraqi pizza is a MUST try. Also consider implement clean processes to keep the smell away because it's really impacting what is being sold. It's off putting to take home meats that it has a funky smell.
