Worst place to eat on this planet. To top it off, it took them 25mins to make french fries!!!! I'd rather eat McDonald's.

I heard they were a very good meat market, but I was even more excited when I learned that they also have restaurant inside the store. I am such a food whore. At any rate, for breakfast, I ordered the "Huevos a la Mexicana" with a side a corn tortillas. The Mexican scramble came with chopped serrano peppers, onions, and tomatoes, not to mention a side of beans and rice for $13.49 plus tax. The scramble also comes topped with a couple of slices of Mexican Panels Cheese. I did like that! The eggs were well scrambled with all the ingredients and well seasoned. They definitely did not hold back on any of the ingredients, especially the fresh hot peppers. As a results, the scrambled a good heat, just the way my father would of liked it. I liked it, too. Both the rice and beans were very good. The beans were fantastic and the rice was well prepared and cooked to the right texture, but they could of used a little more seasoning. I used the locally made corn tortillas to make breakfast tacos with the scramble and the tasty hot sauce they offered. Every body was super friendly at this hybrid meat market and eatery. Did I mention they have a meat counter here, too? It's a cool little hidden gem in El Cajon.

It sounded good but we also weren't really feeling like going "out" and something that could be delivered or that we could pick up seemed like the better play. All the typical poke places showed up when we searched but none of them really sold us. Well, good thing I remembered that Valley Farm's poke game is strong... really strong. Believe me, I know that those of you who don't know Valley Farm will likely say "really?" when I detail that this sleepy little Spring Valley market kicks out poke as good as anywhere else in SD, but it's true. It's a sleeper of a choice but the quality and price will make you a fan, trust me.

It just tasted like salmon coated in some kind of sesame oil. I still ate it with snacking seaweed but I would not buy again. -Hatch chile Caesar wrap, I liked that the wrap was soft and not soggy. Chicken was grilled and diced, lettuce was crunchy and hatch chile tasted grilled and notably cold, came with Caesar dressing on the side. There was nothing wrong with the ingredients but together it just made a very underwhelming wrap, I didn't really taste any flavor from the wrap even with the help of the dressing. I also would not buy again. Ambiance 5/5 -They had a lot of ready-to-eat food options, both hot and cold. Even though I didn't like what I got this time, I'm open to come back and try other things they have.

They earn three stars solely for the quality of their products…read more I've been here a handful of times and I don't mind the prices. I believe you get what you pay for. I spent $400 here just the other day and even received a follow up email asking about the service. What I do mind is the consistently unfriendly, borderline rude staff. Every visit feels rushed, as if the goal is simply to complete the transaction and move you out the door as quickly as possible. I'm not political, and I have no interest in political commentary from a business where I pay a premium for steaks, regardless of whether it comes from social media or AI generated content. Especially at a time when it is difficult to escape the political divide, this is unnecessary for a business of this type. There are plenty of other ways to be catchy, quirky, and funny without going down that path. I also know for a fact that I can find equal quality meat online, potentially for less money, without the poor customer experience. For those reasons, I will not be shopping here again. Happy New Year, everyone.

I usually come for the large individual cuts. I used to come here once a month, once every other month but their prices have soared a bit. You used to be able to get a Japanese A5 wagyu ribeye for $100-$125. Now they're around $179-$200. That doesn't matter though because the quality and service are consistent. 5/5 stars. The venue could use improvement. It's definitely connected to their warehouse so it lacks warmth. Imo this place could use a more executive, established vibe, sort of like The Butchery at One Paseo or Iowa meat farms down the street. I will say that the quality of beef at the Meatery is far superior to the inflated prices, average quality, zero friendly Iowa meat farms. It's a decent spot, come support local business so they can expand!
