Then Dr Sergio Melara (the other extremely young Dr at the practice) diagnosed my foot problem in minutes taking his time to ask questions and most importantly "listen" to the answers! He took ex-rays to confirm his suspicions. Right after getting them he came back in and explained that I have the foot of a circus freak. Just kidding. He capped off this visit with a few well placed corticosteroid shots and off I went. Dr Kaplin and Dr Melara may be young Doctors but they are obviously the most competent podiatrists I've ever been to. There was no barrier between my foot and the chair, and the drawer lips were dusty. Full Version My initial procedure didn't have any issues like this, besides the dusty drawers, but my checkup did. He walked in and greeted me, he is very kind. He immediately started poking at my foot with his bare hands (this was a checkup after surgery, so he knew where to look). He started trying to see how sensitive it was by attempting to extract fluid by squeezing, again NO GLOVES!!! Then, without washing his hands, he grabbed a medicine bottle (antibacterial, I think), squeezed some out, and directly brought the bottle to my foot. I even felt the plastic touch my foot. Then he simply put the cap back on and bandaged my foot. He even shook my hand, still without washing his hands. The scariest 5 minutes in any doctor's office I've ever had.

I chose to do it there and had a great experience. He gave me a moose teddy bear to hold, and the whole thing just went so well. The shots were quick, he let me sit for 10ish minutes and then came in and did the surgery in about 10 min. Was in the office from start to finish for about 45 min total. My toe hurt a bit the rest of the day but hasn't since. The front desk ladies were also so nice and encouraging!! He really is a pro.

I got an appointment for that Thursday afternoon. I waited in the waiting room for less than 10 minutes before being paced in an exam room. In another 10 minutes the Dr. came in. He checked booth of my feet, told me the cause of my problem and told me what he would to do to relieve my pain and hopefully cure my problem. He gave me his undivided attention for about 25 minutes and I walked out very happy and pain free. Since both the Dr. and I are older people, we talked about Fresno during our youths.

He was very patient with me while my toe took forever to numb up and I appreciated it greatly. The actual procedure must've taken maybe 5 to 10 minutes and I was out the door.
