Their web site is full of lies. It says the food is inspired by a fine chef which couldn't be further from the truth. It's awful and very low quality. Most of the nurses are hateful and treat you like a criminal when you ask for your prescribed medications. The rooms are not deep cleaned between patients. The "common room" is a mess. The couch and chair have food crumbs in the crevices and are just gross! The meetings are more of lectures and there's not much input from the patients at all! They will tell you you can leave anytime you want to and that's true BUT if you don't go thru your counselor and just walk out they won't give you your medicine that YOU bought and paid for. You bring your own medicine but they hold it until they decide to give it to you. I was there 2 days and I called my husband to come and get me less than 48 hours after checking in and I had to wait for my medicine to be released. This place does NOT care if you get better or not as long as your insurance holds out. Find another place to spend your money if you want to get sober. read more

BEWARE! OUR CHILD DIED AT VALLEY HOPE GRAPEVINE! We researched to find the best 24/7 medical facility and decided on Valley Hope Grapevine. We dropped off our beautiful, talented, and caring daughter on a Thursday evening, and she was DEAD in less than 30 hours. She was not monitored or cared for. The urine test and the blood test she took the night she arrived would have told this facility everything it needed to keep her alive. No one cared, no one called a doctor as she was going into septic shock. She lay on her bathroom floor dead for almost two hours before anyone noticed. An ambulance was called, CPR was given to her tiny, already rigored body. She arrived at a nearby ER already in full rigor. In Texas, it is next to impossible to sue a doctor or a medical facility since a 2003 law was passed to protect the medical malpractice in the state. Grapevine Valley Hope has refused to give us her medical records. Valley Hope has been all but silent. We received the call that she was being taken to a hospital at 2:30 in the morning. The director, Jacqueline Mayfield, met with us two days later--after our child had died from their medical malpractice. Mayfield told us that she could not give us our daughter's medical records even though we were her emergency contact. Mayfield promised she would let us know the internal investigation results, which would take 30 days. Of course, we have not received any information. Our child died on their careless, inept watch. DO NOT TRUST THIS FACILITY -- PEOPLE DIE AT VALLEY HOPE AND THERE IS NO RECOURSE. I will never hold my daughter's hand again which is beyond comprehension. The place was trash. Amy the director lies and is unprofessional at best. Wouldn't waste my time here or send anyone you care about. Patty, Alex, Jeff, and a few other staff are amazing people who deserve to work somewhere way better than this place. Food is amazing. Nursing staff at night are awesome. Day staff are gossip trash. Big 12 step program that leaves you on your own to buy a book and doesn't offer a way to get one. They spend all day teaching the 12 steps but never even cared to notice I didn't have a book or a way to get one. Lack of detail and attention is what they're great at. I got one counseling session for 2 weeks stay. Half my time there and only was seen 1 time. Waste of time and money. Save your life elsewhere. Going to cut to the chase: Aside from the terrific nursing staff (as well as the chaplains and a few other good eggs), the place is run poorly and the "director" of the place -- Amy -- does not care about your needs while you're in recovery and setting up success for when you leave. She has zero compassion, zero empathy, and just wants your money and silence -- it's clear she abuses her power and this place would be amazing if she were no longer there. Added to that, the programming there is extremely repetitive and there's little coping skills and tools learned that you need for when you get back to the real world. you don't know me, but please PLEASE go literally anywhere else. I came in with an open mind and ready to work, but all of your hard work can't amount to much if staff constantly lying to and gaslighting patients. I told them all of my drug allergies when I checked in, but a nurse intentionally gave me a med she KNEW I was allergic to. I specifically the asked her 3 times "is this drug x? I'm allergic." she rolled her eyes and gave it to me anyway after condescendingly saying that she knows medication better than I do. I told staff everything that happened once I started to have a reaction and they did absolutely nothing. They tell you that detox Will be 100% covered by insurance to get you you to check in, but they you find out it will be be thousands of dollars After you've already completed detox. i had to hound to business office to finally get an estimate of my bill and they told me "we usually wait a couple of weeks to give people that information because we don't want them to worry about money." We're talking about 10's of thousands of dollars! People deserve to make an informed decision! The techs are routinely disrespectful to patients in front of other patients and they will happily cuss you out in front of a room full of people. The nurses have zero regard for HIPAA regulations and will regularly discuss patients' health info in front of many other patients. I told my counselor that I would be checking out that evening because I had been lied to about how much treatment was going to cost. He told me and my girlfriend (who was on the phone) that they would give me my evening dose of detox meds as long as I was still "checked in" when it was time for me to take them. I shouldn't be surprised, but this was yet another lie and a clear cash grab so they coul bill my insurance for another night. I'm in full blown withdrawal again, but it's still less painful that spending 1 more night in that unethical hellhole. I came here after battling with a meth addiction since 2003. During my years of addiction, I have been to one other in-patient center & a handful of outpatient centers. I will say this... it was clearly obvious to me from day 1 that the staff... clinical, medical, & management... genuinely care about the well being of those who CHOOSE to come through their doors. Their program is structured around the 12-steps & the classes that are taught by the counselors get you to look at life from a different perspective. They teach you the fundamentals on how to live a sober & clean life. I was lost, sick and desperate. I was going to lose everything including my life if I didn't do something. I found my way to Valley Hope and in turn they helped me find my way home to those who loved me especially my children. Don't listen to reviews of people who didn't complete the program. It's crazy people staying only a few days and have an accurate review because the first week or two are the hardest. If you were like me and dedicated, ready to do the work it takes Valley Hope is an excellent place. They will be there for you during your detox. While the patient says they received good care from this facility, she is on the verge of losing her job because a doctor can't fill out a simple FMLA paper and return it. This place helped me kick a bad fentanyl addiction. All the nurses and PCAs are very sweet and passionate about their job. I'd give them 5 stars but i was never able to "connect" to my counselor, and the director Amy is on some kind of power trip. My first couple days there she accused someone of using in her facility and tried to kick him out. He then volunteered to a drug test and when he passed he asked for an apology and she refused and asked him for an apology. When I was sick and not feeling well I wouldn't be able to make class or I'd get up and leave. She didn't like that. I dropped the "fake it till you make it" front and I told her the truth. If I don't feel well I'm not going to class. I don't care what you want or think. She called me arrogant disrespectful amongst other names. When I decided to leave 15 days into a 28 day treatment they called my family and asked for the last half of my cash payment (14,000 total, payed 7,000 when I first arrived). Even though I hadn't stayed the full time. When my family wouldn't pay that's when they finally let me use my phone to call a ride. Although I had a bad experience with the director it does not change how grateful I am for the doctor, nurses, PCAs, and other staff. They helped me kick a bad habit and I am so happy now. location was great and so was the group meetings. Plenty of comradery among the facilitators, I could tell how much they truly cared. Even the food was great! However, my first night there was rather traumatizing by the ladies that worked the desk. I was forced to sleep on a small couch in the common area and they would not let me change out of my uncomfortable shorts or even loosen the top button, all the while yelling at me. It got worse, due to my dt shakes and inability to walk, If I tried to sit up, I received repeated punches to the back of my neck. I was just begging for a more comfortable pair of shorts and a room. the trauma did not end there as I was looking at an empty wheelchair that they would not led me touch it, Having my ass handed to me in my weakest, realty set the tone. From ignoring you and not even eye contact. to speaking loudly ih the middle of the night, it was clear they took no pride in their jobs and only gave a vailed attempt when the doctors were around. This facility is supposed to treat substance abuse patients and ensure their safety. They do not. Anyone can walk in off the street and not be questioned as to who they are and their purpose for being there. Drugs, needles, bong pipes, empty wine and liquor bottles along with weapons have been found on the facility. On Thursday March 6, 2014, a young male patient committed suicide in his room. Staffing is terrible at a ratio of 1 staff person to every 12 patients and a great many of the staff do not have counseling backgrounds. There are more interns than professionals. The company claims to be non-profit but that is all smoke and mirrors. They cram as many bodies as they possibly can in there. Also. The food is awful. Lots of fried foods with calorie count in the 1-2000 per meal. Mice and rats have been Seen in the facility and towels and sheets are old and dirty. The only good thing is that if you don't like it there you can walk out at any time. They probably would not miss you. read more

The IOP program at Valley Hope is very incompetent. Struggles to get patients, fails to administer a positive and rewarding recovery treatment. The program is very unorganized and ineffective. The facility is in very poor condition and feels like a mental institution or correctional facility. This is only good for those dealing with legal issues or in a legacy house. The counselors work very hard to help patients, except Mr. Satoa. He has anger issues and is very unprofessional, and believes to be in complete and total control of his patients. He is very childlike and loses his temper when he doesn't get his way with someone. Please do yourself a favor and choose Greenhouse if you are looking to receive IOP treatment for your recovery. read more
