How this business can survive with these charges in the Valley is beyond me -- but it seems just another case of offering services only for the wealthy. Totally disgusted that I've been priced out of this option for pet care, as previously I had good experiences. That said, when I picked up my dog the last time I boarded here, she was both clearly parched and in desperate need to relieve herself. read more

We've only had good experiences here! We have an energetic two-year-old tortoiseshell cat and we trust that she's in good hands when we board her with Valley Inn. The staff is friendly and responsive and our kitty always gets plenty of one-on-one attention. read more

I left my dog for the day today at 8 am. I let them know she hadn't eaten yet today and I provided them with two servings of food. When I picked my dog up 11 hours later they handed me back her unopened bag of food. When I asked if they had fed her today, the manager Andrea said "I guess not. If it's not logged onto the chart to feed the animal, it's not standard practice for us to feed the dogs during daycare stay." They did not provide any substantive report of her stay. I would not trust this place to properly care for your pet. I question if she even left her cage all day. read more

I will start by saying this was my first experience with boarding my dog (puppy) and it will be my last, at least with this facility. It is also my first time writing a review but I find this to be review worthy as I used this as part of my decision to go here. I did, I thought, my due diligence when reviewing the location, people, etc. My dog see's the Veterinarians at the hospital and I had no complaints. So I sent her for a preliminary visit to see how she would do and felt relatively comfortable. Being this is my "child" I was never truly comfortable leaving her but, they said there would be daily messages to let me know when she was out so I could watch on the video camera's and that she would be having fun. I dropped off my puppy on Weds. morning we went over her feeding schedule, I had all her food prepackaged and labeled for breakfast and dinner and a note with instructions on how we mix it for her. I left her blanket, a couple of toys and some snacks. I was told they would be in touch. Thursday evening I hadn't heard from anyone so I called to check in, concerned that she hadn't been out at all I was told otherwise, she had been out at least 4 times per day and that she was having fun with her friends. I asked that they text me so I could watch when she was out. Crickets......Nothing! Friday at 4pm I received a call from our dogs vet to say they had brought her over because I hadn't responded to an email. an EMAIL!!! Now mind you, I was not away on business and was not checking my email. I never received a call from them. I was told she had a bought of diarrhea and they wanted to give her antidiarrheal meds and check her stool for any possible problems. To which I agreed. I was never told they were going to change her diet, or do anything different mind you. I waited for a follow up call (or email at this point I was checking there too), crickets...again..Nothing! I went to pick her upon my return on Monday. I was asked to pay twice what I was quoted because of what they did for her and they wouldn't bring her to me until I paid my bill. I talked to a manager who credited some of the charges and when they brought her out to me she still had more than 3/4 of her food that I had brought, the blanket had not been undone, the snacks were untouched! I was beside myself! What had they fed her? Did they feed her? They said they gave her a bland diet and her meds (again without my knowledge). However, upon asking what they found in with the tests, I was told nothing, yet they were still giving her medicine!! The whole experience was a disaster and I will never trust them, and I don't' suggest you do either. Thank you for listening. One very unhappy dog parent! read more

What once was a great place, is now horrible. We'll never return after 15+ years. We dropped off our healthy dog for a long weekend while we went to visit a dying relative. When we got her home, our dog was very, very ill (which was the first we became aware . . . they couldn't even lift a phone to call us). This resulted in even further expenses to take her to her vet. I have noticed a major attitude change in the past couple of visits to the Valley Inn for Pets. I asked the person at the front desk to put a blanket or two in her bed. Well they brought the blanket in and left it on the floor, not the bed, so that was worthless. They no longer act in a caring way. The staff just does not display a genuine concern for our pets, and all conversations are scripted. Think twice before you bring your beloved canine family members to this place. read more

I have used Valley Inn for regular boarding during the holidays and for vacations. My dog has been extremely well cared for - the staff are very attentive and follow my directions regarding diet and meds to the letter. Staff is, friendly, professional, good sense of humor, and never, ever get annoyed when I call to check on her. Recently, I had a minor medical issue which required boarding my dog so I was able to focus on physical therapy. It was a bit of an emergency, and although they were quite full, they made room for her and took such good care of her. I would never board her anywhere else. It's worth every penny. And, when we get there, she's excited to be there. This place is simply wonderful. Thanks so much for taking such good care of my dog! read more

After my first visit with my pet to the Valley Inn, I was really pleased with their service. However, that visit was only for a night. But I recently dropped off both of my pets at the Valley Inn for a five night stay, which was pre-booked. However, the night that I dropped them off, a big blizzard hit the area so I canceled my plans and decided it would be best to go pick up the pets the next day. I figured this would also save me some money since the day that I dropped them off, I spoke with the woman at the front desk who told me that if there are any changes, I can call and let them know and they'll adjust the payment. So I called the Inn to ask if that would be okay and they said sure. I trekked out in the blizzard and finally made it there to get my pets. Another person who was with me went in to pick them up while I waited in the blizzard (since the parking lot had not been plowed). When my friend came back, she told me that they had charged the entire amount even though we called to cancel and let them know. By that time, they were already closing up the Inn and the blizzard was gaining speed so I couldn't go back in to complain. But that really marred my impression of the Inn. They never made their cancellation policy clear and then intimated that we could cancel if need be. However, when we did, they didn't give us any refund. Furthermore, they promised to trim the pets' nails but did not do so before we went to pick them up. It's a shame because the caretakers seem very involved and loving but the customer service and lack of clear communication wasn't great. They should really lay clear their cancellation and emergency cancellation policies at the time of booking. I'm bummed about it but will certainly not be taking my pets back to the Inn. read more

Best kennel in the area. If my elderly dogs have any issues they are seen by my vet immediately and are well cared for. I love the kennel cams and text updates with photos. Nicest people anywhere. read more

Our 2 young terriers always receive an enthusiastic welcome here. We have had wonderful report cards detailing their play groups, eating and potty breaks. We usually pay a little extra for a bedtime cuddle and treat with one of the staff. We appreciate leaving our dogs in a safe environment overnight knowing that a vet is on call if needed. The cost is fair for the excellent care they receive. read more

My 2 dogs (a husky and a golden) stayed here for a week last summer and had a great time. They were in a room (not a cage) together and there was a webcam so we could check on them. They had plenty of attention and playtime and were well cared for. My husky also goes here for daycare and loves it. All the staff love her and they always give me an informal report of what she did at the end of the day if I ask. Some of the staff are more friendly than others, but in general they are great. read more

I would like to thank Valley Inn for their kindness and understanding. I called the Valley Inn at the last minute to see if they could take my dog for daycare. The staff were wonderful to me and my dog. They understood my dog's needs when they realized during the day that she suffers from anxiety and didn't like to be kenneled. They gave me a full report of her day when I came back to pick her up. The first day of daycare is free and I desperately wanted to pay them anyways but they wouldn't take my money. I will be returning here very soon and can't thank them enough for their kindness, professionalism, and hospitality. read more

We love Valley Inn for Pets! Our dog goes for day care one or two days a week, and it is just what we were looking for. The staff is lovely, friendly, and helpful, and I can tell that they genuinely enjoy and are fond of the dogs who come there. They have even texted me pictures of my dog playing! Our pup is always happy to get dropped off and is exhausted and happy when I pick him up. The dogs get to play A LOT and are not crated for long periods. I also love that I can have our vet give him a needed vaccination or check up while he is there. That is very convenient. We have boarded our dog also, and again it goes very well and we love watching him on the video cameras when he is playing outside. I always see the staff cuddling with him and really playing with the dogs. The best! read more

I have been a loyal customer of Valley Inn for pets for quite some time now and I am disappointed to say that recent events have made me consider taking my pet elsewhere for boarding and daycare needs. I consider my pet a family member and like a child; the people I leave him in care with have to be ones I trust and that I feel are competent. Being a regular client, I had gotten to know many of Valley Inn's employees and definitely felt comfortable leaving my pet with them. However, as of late, there has been a noticeable shift in employees there; all the faces I have grown to know and appreciate are now gone and have been replaced by people who competence I have to question. The level of care, knowledge, and customer service is nowhere near the level that it once was. I no longer enjoy peace of mind when leaving my pet at Valley Vet; I now worry that he is in inexperienced hands and not receiving the quality of care that I have come to expect from this company. All of my interactions with new staff members have been negative; what happened to all the familiar faces? How bizarre is it for a business to lose all their experienced employees in such a short amount of time? That has to say something about management. Nonetheless, I am on the hunt for a new location to care for my dogs; hopefully one that has staff that I can trust to care for my pet as one of their own. It's such a shame. read more

I have nothing but high praise for the entire staff. I've used both the daycare and boarding services for my dog who is, shall we say, a bit reactive. For many months my dog went to daycare 5 days a week. Now she goes stays over two weekends a month (Friday through Monday) The staff are real pros and my dog loves them. Valley Inn takes a limited number of dogs and places them in appropriate play groups for their size and temperament. This level of service makes all the difference. My dog is like my child so I want to know that she will be well-cared for. As an added bonus, I love being able to watch her play on the webcam. There's nothing like peace of mind when it comes to fur-kids. I used two other daycare services before finding Valley Inn and had awful experiences. All daycare and boarding services are not alike and I can tell you stories that would make your hair stand on end. It takes me 45 minutes each way to travel to Valley Inn although there are other services much closer to my home. That alone should tell you that they are awesome. read more

We've been bringing our dog here since he was a puppy but a couple of visits after a lapse of more than a year has left us thinking the quality has changed. First, because our regular groomer-bather has moved, we paid for a new $45 "spa Bath level 3," but found when we got him home that by the smell test he hadn't been bathed, and by the look-and-feel test his ears were dirty and his nails hadn't been cut, either. Second, there's something else to be aware of about this place's billing. Pick-up time is before 10.a.m., drop off time after 2.00 p.m. So if, like most people, you leave early for a trip, and come home fairly late, you can expect to be charged $12.50 x 2 for an early drop-off and a late pick-up. We ended up paying nearly $200 for a two-day stay including the absent "spa Bath" plus extra playtime and attention. So we shall be looking for an alternative both for boarding and bathing. read more
