Amazing! Long story short, my baby needs glasses and I did not know it was a long process. I went to different stores and no one could help us. We ended up getting some glasses at a local office by my house and the wait was 4 weeks. I found this place because they carry tomato glasses for babies. As soon as I called the Dr was very very helpful. When I went in person he helped so much! Explaining everything that I needed to know and more. Found glasses that my baby felt comfortable in. They were ready in about 1.5 weeks (Im still waiting for the other glasses by my house). He was very careful and precise with the glasses so my baby could be very comfortable. He is awesome!!! I stopped by Valley Opticians with some skepticism that they would be able to help me replace lenses in my 20 year old feather-weight titanium frames which 3 other opticians either declined to touch due to their perceiving them as too fragile, were unequipped to fit the lenses, or required me to sign a damage waiver to outsource the fitting. Originally, I chose the latter option but was notified after a week that the lens crafter opted not to attempt the job. When I met Dennis and described to him my issue, he immediately took "interest in the challenge". He examined my frames meticulously and detailed out to me the specific work necessary to fit the lenses into my frames. I quickly felt comfortable knowing that I was finally dealing with someone who was personally experienced in crafting lenses. Samantha made the shop very welcoming and I felt in good hands. Dennis straightened out some bends and hand crafted the lenses for perfect fit. My glasses were returned with new lenses and looked balanced as if new. Summary: great selection and customer service (in selecting glasses) but no mention that they were out of my insurance network. Be very careful about your insurance coverage or you may get a surprise when reimbursed. I recently bought a pair of prescription sunglasses at Valley Opticians. This was my first visit to an optician that wasn't directly associated with my optometrist. The first question I asked when walking in the door was whether they accepted VSP insurance, to which I was told "yes". There was no further explanation that they were out of network, which results in substantially lower reimbursement. The staff were very helpful in selecting a pair of glasses, and the selection was great. I had selected a pair of Maui Jim's on which the company performs the work on the lenses and coating. There were many options available, and it was difficult to get a clear answer of what would be an appropriate selection for my needs rather than company marketing claims, so I ended up giving and going with the "floor model" design. When the time came to discuss payment, I was informed that I pay in full, then submit for reimbursement to the insurance company (rather than the opticians taking care of it directly like at the optometrist office). Again, no mention was made of a reduced benefit because they were out of network. When the bill arrived, I was very surprised by the amount. Perhaps I should have done my homework better, and my lesson has been learned. However, I think that at the minimum the staff need to provide an upfront estimated cost after reimbursement (based on the insurance information that I provided) to avoid this sticker shock. No offer was made to help resolve this issue. Had SOMETHING been, this would be a 5 star review. I will be sticking to the opticians in the optometrist's offices in the future. read more

Dennis at Valley Opticians is great at finding the right glasses for you. They have tons of frames to try on and they will spend the time to measure the frames and your face to make sure the glasses fit perfectly. They work with most insurance companies so you don't have to pay out of pocket. You can also bring in your designer sunglasses and they will put prescriptions lenses in the frames. So I love this palce for the service and clear expertise. I would give it 5 stars but they have a limited selection and apparently you can not go in there and order any frames you want you have to use the brands they carry. It makes sense but in this day and age you would think they could cater a bit more to the customer, especially at these prices. read more

I am a first time eyeglass wearer and was anxious about my first pair of opthalmic glasses. My main concern was, of course, the optics of my lenses, but I found myself becoming obsessed with the cosmetics of my frames. Dennis, Carolyn and Lalani at Valley Opticians addressed all of my concerns and then some. They found me a lovely pair of Roberto Cavalli frames that exceeded my expectations. Great place for toddler glasses. Dennis was super knowledgeable about my son's condition and took the time to explain exactly to us how the glasses will help him, how they should fit, the pros/cons of the frame size, type, lenses, etc. Staff is always very helpful and pleasant.
