My husband and I were driving through Quartzsite and stopped for gas at the Chevron gas station…read morebefore the border. AAA was a joke, after 1.5 hrs, they sent a small truck with Walmart jumper cables for our huge diesel, but I regress. After spending the night in the Chevron parking lot because our truck (pulling a 33' trailer) would not start. Some kind gentleman and his grown sons stopped and ran a test on the engine and said it may be the sensors failed or a coil or ?...diesel engine troubles. Bottom line was, we weren't getting home until it was fixed. Looking for Automotive repair places in Blythe (yikes), I noted the great reviews (dismissing the one some idiot wrote about an estimate). Called Mead Automotive and spoke with a gentleman who said "yes" his wife would handle our extended diesel drive-train warranty paperwork (which Lorie is excellent at doing) and to have it towed in and he would take a look. AAA towed our trailed and truck (thank you Bobbie) and Hamp began working on it. He drove my husband to an auto supply shop for two new batteries (gave Hamp a good deal too), then returned and continued to troubleshoot. A friend drove to Blythe from Cucamonga and drove us to Ontario Airport to rent a car and drive home to Fallbrook, in San Diego. The truck and trailer stayed with Hamp. They kept our trailer for several days on their locked lot, free of charge and made sure the batteries were charged (awesome!). The next day (Friday), Hamp called and said he was home thinking about it and the answer came to him (diligence). He went in Monday morning and ordered the parts and bam, he was now able to repair it (when all the parts arrived...yay). Turned out the a/c condenser froze up and caused the engine sensors to do the same (a wife's version). The a/c had gone out on our way to Sedona (boo). The truth is that Hamp and Lorie were a true blessing for us. We were in the middle of nowhere and very vulnerable. I doubt we could have found anyone in San Diego that could have done a better job at such a fair price. Lorie billed our insurance and our share was about $800 for everything. He had our truck for 5 days and a lot of labor, not to mention keeping our trailer safe. I wish they were closer, we could always use an honest diesel mechanic out our way. Thanks again! Liz and Greg P.S. We could use a good diesel mechanic her in Fallbrook (it's lovely here, year-round).

I was in the first spot adjacent to the road (10' away) so I felt a little exposed and had products in the bed of my truck. Well, no issues. It was quite with minimum road noise. The "neighbors" came over and invited us for drinks around their campfire. Everyone in the park waves when you pass by. Very inviting! We've stayed next door at the Arizona Oasis RV Resort (gated). Both parks have the same great vibe.

TENT CAMPING ALLOWED. There is Plenty of grass or smooth pavement for recreation! They have their own "shallow" groundwater well ,allowing the park to have grass ,,,, so much nicer than dirt blowing everywhere ! They offer a fully fenced DOG PARK, a kids playground and a clubhouse. The clubhouse has a cooking area, board games&library, comfortable seating, with card tables&a pool table. The shower house has great water pressure, the whirlpool spa is hot with strong jets, the coin laundry is s fair price and in good repair . All the public areas are kept very clean.StAff ,,, All care , obviously. The rates here are more than reasonable for weekly or monthly, overnight is a bit more costly. I would recommend a stay here to anyone.

Dropped off the trailer and he called 2 hours later with a quote. We were 2 hours from home, we paid a $100.00 deposit for parts and he said he would call the next day when it was ready. We told him we would pick it the next weekend. He never called when it should had been ready, had to call him 4 days later, still not done! The excuse was wrong brake parts. Told him to put it back together, since we had an appointment with our boat shop the following Monday. He said, " I'll have it done tonight", whatever. Paid a co-worker $100 to go pick it up since I had to work that weekend. They arrived at 12:00 and it still wasn't done. Finally, they paid him $300 and left. They got 25 minutes outside of town and the tire blew out because the didn't put the cotter pin in place! Destroyed my tire, new bearings, races and seals. my co-worker got it home, going 25mph on I-10. Now the spindle is destroyed and it needs a whole axle. When confronting the "owner", he agreed to send us back the $300.00, that was Oct 7th, it's now Nov 4th. Doesn't answer the phone, return calls or text messages. My suggestion is this. If you need anything, don't go to this place. Call a tow truck and get home. Have a real shop repair your trailer!
