I was referred recently for an X-ray by a specialist. He chose this business instead of Scripps where I normally go. I had gone through this group prior when they had a location in Carlsbad which closed several years ago. I was disappointed when they were gone. My experiences there were good so I hoped for the same. When I called to make an appointment and check to see if they'd receieved my referral the man I spoke to said I needed to just walk in for my X-ray. So several days later I did. The line was really long and the waiting room was full. It seemed as if they were short staffed. The woman at the desk was rushed but friendly. I filled out my paperwork and returned it. Then I waited. People just kept coming in so she couldn't process my paperwork for some time. The wait was quite long until the line died down and she could get to me. I waited a bit longer and was taken to the back. The xray tech who helped me took several images with different angles and I was on my way. It was easy, but the wait was a bit excessive. My back is hurting. I go to doctor. Get an e-ray . Need an MRI Back is still hurting. Call to get MRI. I wait over a month. Get two phone calls to confirm. A couple hours before procedure. I get a phone call. Someone called out sick. You are cancelled. Well my back still hurts and I will never use this place of business again. The worst. I had to wait for an hour and half for a back X-ray. Receptionists little to no help. Mother had her young child running in the waiting room. No control over the child. It was annoying. Still have not received my results. read more

Both locations need a major overhaul in staffing, scheduling, training and quality of care. There is no sense of urgency with patient health. No one answers the phone. Lines out the door just to schedule or check-in. I had to physically go into the Escondido location to schedule an appt because their phone rings incessantly. They had already received my referral for over a month & didn't bother to call me. I had to wait another month for a CT of my heart because they had no openings. They scheduled me in the Poway location which is inconvenient but I took the first available. After waiting another month, they called me an hour before my appt to say they had no technician & needed to reschedule. I have now been rescheduled and have to wait another month to determine what is wrong with MY HEART! I have been waiting since May to get a CT scan. Ridiculous! Why aren't patients who are being rescheduled accommodated & scheduled sooner? Why doesn't the staff answer the phones? Why dont they call patients when they receive referrals/auth's? Why dont they have enough technicians to accommodate all these patients? Very poor management, poor quality of care, poor communication and customer service. I am surprised they dont have malpractice lawsuits. I will never be referred here again. read more

We were told there would be a 40 minute wait, so I let the front desk know I was stepping across the street to grab food with my 84 year old grandmother and that we would be back well before our turn. When we returned, our sign in slip had been moved aside and we were placed at the bottom of the list, even though there had only been two people ahead of us. The staff member then told us the wait would now be an hour and a half, delivered with a smirk, and added that we could go somewhere else if we wanted. The lack of professionalism and basic courtesy was disappointing, especially given the situation. With several nearby businesses offering appointments and respectful service, this experience did not meet expectations. read more

Scheduling is an absurd joke. Lots of promises to return calls or emails that NEVER happen. Half the people who answer the calls can barely speak properly English. This organization is a horrible mess. Find another more responsive radiology group!! read more

The Gate keeper is rude. ( receptionist) she's not a service specialist, nor friendly and helpful. I know its a shame you gotta work but your rudeness is unacceptable. The technicians are very nice. Getting through the door, making an appointment is 99.9% the problem. I now use a different imaging service in the same area. Staff is awesome, always accommodating and friendly. Had a same day referral from the Dr. at Graybill 2nd ave,Escondido location, needed a X-ray after my appointment with her. The radiology receptionist "Nia" was very efficient, clear with information and had a wonderful personality. These days it's so nice to receive service with a smile. I was in and out quick which was awesome being I had no appointment. The X-ray tech also provided quick professional service. I'm so happy that the Radiology Dept is up and running at the 2nd ave location. read more

Ophelia is absolutely amazing. From the moment you walk through the door, you're greeted with great energy. She checked in at least 25 people and handled insurance and payments entirely on her own. This review is for the new Valley Radiology location in the Graybill building on Second Avenue. I arrived 30 minutes early for my appointment as advised. The friendly front-desk lady provided me with paperwork to complete, and as soon as that was done, I was called back for my scan. The technician was personable and efficient, and I was actually finished with my visit before the scheduled appointment time. I would definitely use this location for any future radiology needs. read more

1) Apologies to the young woman at the front desk on 2/25/2026: She did give me the patient questionnaire to give the radiologic technologist. I didn't realize what it was! Sorry! 2) My technologist patiently helped me fill out the questionnaire again. I told her my hearing aids were out and asked her to speak up. Most people remember this for one or two sentences and then begin mumbling again, face turned away, chin down. Hopeless for me! She remembered all the way throughthe exam! No one has ever done that for me! I needed aids since age 45 - now I am 82! Congratulations! Much appreciated! 3) Her (Maria Tolentino) attitude and manner was positive, even buoyant! I was so comfortable and relaxed with this! Undoubtedly, this was the best annual mammogram I have had since my first one at age 45! 4) I have heard of Valley Radiology's great reputation since the late 1970s, when my husband was a radiologic technologist at Grossmont Hosital. Valley Radiology has the worst customer service. I have been waiting for someone to call me back. I need an MRI done for an upcoming surgery, and they were supposed to notify me on Thursday. I waited for a call back to see if I was able to go into their facility. I still haven't heard anything, and this was last Thursday. Today is December 21st, 2025, so I had to make other arrangements further away, which I did not like to do. Valley Radiology needs to put patients first, and their quality of service is zero. read more

I was told by Graybill this location is very busy. Yes it is. Expect a very long wait (told by staff 2 hours) and if try to get seen in the afternoon, you may get turned away because they're full. This is the first time I've been here. But the front desk can't tell me where I am on the list because the tech apparently refuses to update their system. And this is a discussion that's loud enough that those sitting in the crammed waiting room can hear it. Still waiting to be seen. I arrived at 10:48am. A very special shout out to Maria, the Technician at the Elm street location, she is absolutely marvelous! So very kind and caring, knowledgeable, and totally professional. Both she and the Dr. (sorry, I already forget his name) continually told me what was going to happen, walking me through the entire procedure as it progressed. Both very gentle, and reassuring, while also thorough and obviously quite experienced. I highly recommend Valley Radiology at the Elm Street location in Escondido. The male x-ray guy was very unprofessional. Myself, all the lobby, and the front desk women watched him throw a tantrum because he was in a bad mood. The front desk women were all nice and professional, but I could tell they were embarrassed by his behavior. He would come out with an annoyed face on, call a guest, and if they didn't IMMEDIATELY answer, he would skip them and not go back even though the patient had been waiting over 3 hours to be seen. A woman got very upset by this and demanded to be seen, and the x-ray guy threw his hands up in the air in a complaining manor; it was like a little boy throwing a fit. His whole body language and the things he was saying was showing how annoyed he was honestly shocking. I'll give him some credit that it seemed they only have 1 of him, and maybe he wasn't getting enough breaks? Someone definitely needs to check in on that man. I do feel sorry for him feeling so overworked. The management needs to do WAY better and support their employees. Obviously he feels unsupported. Please hire more x-ray people so it's not just this one guy drowning. read more

While trying to confirm appointment with Valley Radiology, I was called a liar by someone named Ricardo. He was claiming to be a supervisor and misinformed me, as well, regarding where I had an MRI and the resulting disc recording. I'm waiting in lobby for xray of previously broken leg. They won't make appointment for that so you have to be what they call a walk in. I have been waiting for3 1/4 HOURS so far and they said there are 3 still ahead of me and it will be at least 30- 40 MORE minutes! I had a ridiculously difficult time making an appointment with this place. the phone automatically places you in a que and after waiting 15 minutes they hang up on you. This happened to me 3 times. I finally had to go to their website to request an appointment. I went to the appointment and checked in. I was there for an open air MRI of my left wrist. The young lady who was operating the MRI had me lay on my back and place my left hand in a holder and then pushed it as far as she could against my left side. To make a long story short, it turns out she was newer and had no real idea what she was doing. We tried 3 different times and she could not get the MRI to work. They refunded my co-pay and said I should come back when the actual tech was working. I have tried to make another appointment, but they have not responded to my online requests ( 3 of them ). Update So the day after this review was posted I got a call from Valley Radiology, they were very apologetic and wanted to get me back in as soon as possible. We made and appointment and I went in and saw " the main guy " in MRI. He was very nice and basically did the exact same things the first lady did and was unable to get and MRI of my wrist. He ran me in and out of the machine so many times he ended up breaking the machine. So of course they then stated I would need to make yet a THIRD appointment. I got my money back for my co-pay and left. I would suggest going elsewhere as I am going to do. read more

I do not recommend this Radiology business. The front office lady was very nice and they took me promptly back to be scanned at my appointment time. However it took two weeks to get my report to my doctor. And it is still not available on the patient portal. The lady that did the intake when I arrived for my appointment discouraged me from even signing up for their patient portal. read more

I had an appointment for an US on 9/2, I am under cancer watch/screening so I get this every 4 months after multiple surgeries. I was told the results would be ready by the time of my Dr. appointment 9/10. They were not. Dr. called and was told they would be ready 10 (business days after the original US date) 9/16 and that they would call him. They were not. Not only were they not read and completed, their system crashed, when called the phones would hang up on you so I had to go to the office to find out what was going on, they said they hoped it would be up by Thursday 9/18, today is 9/23 and the system is still not up, my results have still not been read. I would not be so upset ,except unfortunately my labs are showing something is extremely wrong and due this delay on the US reading I can not move forward!!! read more

Lost a star because of the difficulty in reaching the office via phone, but once I did get through was scheduled for the very next day. I would highly not recommend this facility! While the Radiologists seem to be very good the office staffing and scheduling is horrendously mishandled. They constantly cancel appointments at the last minute and seem to come up with different excuses every time. I was scheduled and cancelled twice with different excuses each time. I've been waiting 4 months now for a simple Thoracic CT. I will never use them again nor would I recommend them to anyone else. They are also on the Veteran's Community Care list, but Veterans beware. read more

Last March I made an appointment for an MRI. The man I talked to on the phone spoke such broken English I could barely understand him. He made the appointment for 5/19/25 at 7:00pm. Two months away. The week before I stopped in to confirm the appointment to find out it had been canceled without telling me. I asked why and they said nobody was going to be there. They asked if I wanted to make another appointment I said yes and it was another two months to get in. In July. Why do they make appointments knowing that nobody is there. That was the office n Elm St. Then in November I went to the office on 2nd Ave. for some x-rays, Just as bad. My Drs. office is in the same building. The doctor wanted me to just go down and they would send the order electronically. I went and checked in and they didn't have the order yet. Told me to sit down and wait. So 45 minutes later they said they still didn't have it and asked me to go up and get a written copy. So I did and was gone less than 10 minutes. Came back with it and they told me it was too late, they were going home. Come back the next morning. It's a 60 mile round trip to return but they didn't seem to care. Personally I wouldn't have anything to do with the office staff. read more

Valley Radiology is crap, they don't have staffs to take care of their customers, I called them to make an appointment and I was 24th in line and being on phone for over 30 minutes and once my turn came phone went through voice message and they did not make appointment. This was third time they did this as schedulers are not picking the phones and I beleive its internal cultural issue. This is scam just like VA did when people called them to make appointments. After being frustrated for long I decided to write this review. On other instance we have made appointment for bone density appointment and they gave us appointment 4 months out stating their imaging equipment is not in operation at Escondido. So, in general there care quality sucks and they don't care about their customers. I will be calling back to my PCM to change referrals to San Diego Imaging instead. read more
