This review is for the experience my wife had recently in the Poway location. Having read several unhappy reviews, we were a touch concerned about the referral from our regular HMO, but we were reassured by their advance screening, by phone and by internet. The scan went quickly, the results were promptly reported and the staff was calming and welcoming. The only reason this is a four rather than a five is that parking is tight. read more

Understandable. Yet, you guys were telling me to get there at least fifteen minutes ahead, of my scheduled time. Since I am going through this TBI, I learned to always be anywhere much earlier. For instance, when I go to school, I get to Sierra college by seven thirty, first waiting for the library to open up which is at eight a.m The only main reason why we ended up going here. What could improve: No one cares if your test results are not accurate. After phone calls, an update. I had a CT scan with another company, and it showed an enlarged liver. I contacted IHCS, and all that I heard was, I am so sorry. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IHCS. read more

Melissa was the US tech who assisted me and she was overall professional and gentle. It definitely helps when imaging places or clinic staff understand what patient experience should look like. My husband had an MRI at this location on a Sat! There was ease at making the appt time. When we arrived for the 11:30 appt, he was taken in at 11:10. Beware everything is rainbows and butterfly's until the bill comes. I am very familiar with insurance so I know even though I have a ppo insurance I still need to check and get pre -auth on anything especially when going to a 3rd party imaging place. I spoke to three different people in their "authorizations department" to ensure my patient responsibilities prior to doing any imaging. I was told my insurance was in network, I was told my co -pay and I was told there are no other charges again this is by three different people Who also stated they did pre -auth with the procedure codes! Fast forward to today I have a EOB for several hundred dollars and there " authorizations department " wants to act like they don't know anything and they have never heard of a pre-auth all of the sudden as if they do not record or keep track of there calls.....? They will then tell you to call a 3rd party biller who puts you on hold all day as if you're some sort of criminal with past due debt even thought you just got your EOB from your insurance ahead of a bill and are just trying to pay it after being 1000% lied to. Do yourself a favor stick with your medical group do not try to get imaging done outside at a 3rd party place like this one etc. because you will be scammed on your bill. If I know about insurance and charge codes etc. and I am being scammed into billing problems then surely a person who is not familiar with insurance will have issues. Additionally the 3rd party biller they're using seems like the type of company if you pay your bill they're so unorganized they may just accidentally put you in collections anyways I dont feel secure with them. If they lie to their patients about this imagine what else is going on with this place! On a side note they also took forever to send my results to the ordering physician I had to contact them to have them sent ! ... really? The ordering physician who already provided the info to them how hard can that be. Maybe the California Medical Board/California Health Facilities Information Database and or the CMS will be interested since I asked for a supervisor call back and no one has reached out to me. Know your rights people this is ridiculous! read more

Everything about this place was great. Easy parking Friendly staff Clean On time All the important things when your going for a appt your not really looking forward to. But when you are able to make an appt EARLY in the morning (715am) to get it out of the way...it was a breeze. Pulled right up and parked. Greeted by the receptionist who checked what was the least expensive for me (to pay cash or use my insurance) and then the Ultra Sound Tech (Melissa), she was AMAZING! Melissa knew I was nervous but she just had a calming demeanor, she was easy to talk to throughout the procedure, and very understanding of my concerns from a previous ultra sound I had that was not very pleasant. Melissa respected my privacy when I had to change as well as give me ample time to get myself together. Upon leaving Melissa gave me information to access my results via their portal. I came home, created an account and with in a couple hours all my results were there! I would recommend this place as they are SUPER fast, SUPER courteous and SUPER understanding of your needs! So, because of PHMG being unable to do xrays, my orthopedic doctor's office referred me to go to this facility. They told me to just go to this facility and that they don't make appointments, just walk in, first come first serve. I investigated the Imaging Healthcare Specialists website to see exactly how that was going to work. It says, if you don't get an email with a link to make an appointment within 72 hours from when your request has been received, you need to call another number for assistance. Seeing how PHMG was cyber-hacked I was never going to get that email. My doctor's office requests must have been handcarried to them, IDK. So, I decided to just go when the facility opened today, 7/10/24. I arrived at this facility at 7:14 and 30 seconds and encountered the sign on the door... No more xray walk ins for the rest of today, go in to receive assistance. I went in and was greeted by the lady behind the counter with "sorry we're not open yet" Okay, 7:14 and 30 seconds (they open at 7:15). I then asked her if she knew how I could make an appointment, she replied "I don't know." Okay. She then asked the group of 10 that were already there sitting in waiting room, does anyone have an appointment, one man say yes, she told him he could check in at the computer pad on the counter. I left never to return. I was not feeling the greatest at 7:14 and 30 seconds because of my immunotherapy cancer treatments. But that is not her fault but still, I am not going to sit for 10 people ahead of me at 7:14 and 30 seconds PERIOD. This system of walk ins/emails for appointments 72 hours ahead su---. I will give the facility some credit for helping out PHMG in their distress. My knee xray can wait until I can go into Palomar for an xray, whenever that will be. read more

PROS: I really want to give this location 5 stars - the staff is great. I would recommend this place as they are fast, very courteous and really understanding of your needs! CONS: Unfortunately, you can't get an appointment. They are booked over 6 months out and you can only go on their portal and hope someone cancels. Don't bother calling and waiting on hold for 30 minutes only to be told there are no appointments available at any location. Never even used them! Referral from my MD. Could not schedule an appointment form the link they sent to my phone X2. They won't even make phone appointments. Tried to schedule by creating an account. It said it would take THREE business days to get a link to create the account to schedule my appointment. After 2 days of trying the phone link I then I drove to the location to schedule an appointment & they couldn't get me in for a STANDARD Chest x ray for a week! I spent 1 hour & a half & never even scheduled an appointment. Ridiculous! I gave 1 star because the receptionist was nice. FYI: I then requested my Dr. to refer me to Scripps Clinic. Walked in ( NO appointment) had my x-ray done in & out in less than 15 minutes. Resulted in less than 12 hours. read more

He checked me in quickly, and made sure that I knew how to get to the exam room, as I am vision-impaired. Heidi did my procedure, and she was equally friendly and kind, and explained exactly what she was doing and why, throughout. I also saw other employees interact with other patients/clients, and all of the employees seemed caring and nice, and all the patients - whether having a procedure done or just making a payment - were treated with respect, and went away happy. I accompanied my mother for imaging here and it was an easy process. The young lady at check in was extremely sweet and helpful. Contactless check in was a breeze. We arrived 15 minutes early in case there would be paperwork to fill out but they already had everything they needed and got us checked in with just a few simple questions. We were called exactly at our appointment time and directed to go outside and up the stairs for imaging. They also have elevator access which is great. There was signage available to direct us to the correct suite for imaging and we were greeted right away by a very pleasant technician. She was very sweet with my mom and took her to the room and I could hear her explaining the process and what she would be doing. Everyone had a really welcoming and calm demeanor which is helpful to ease nerves. Her appointment was extremely convenient, booked on a Sunday afternoon. Am I the only one that has had questionable exams? It doesn't seem like the people reading the images are really looking. I've had tears missed, as well as disc bulges, breast abnormalities, and other things. Their 'conclusions' often leave out important information listed in the full report. Busy DRs often skim the reports & skip to the conclusion, not realizing that the conclusion has left out a lot of stuff. Drs: Please consider using another imaging place. Also, someone should think about doing a QA check of this place! read more

I had an appointment at IHS for a follow up procedure. I appreciate the format used to pre-check in before the day of my appointment. I was able to verify my information including insurance. The form is user friendly. The office area and exam room were spotlessly clean, comfortable, and air conditioned. The wait at the facility was negligible. The Radiology technition, MT, explained every step of the procedure and made me feel reassured and relaxed. The ultrasound gel was perfectly warmed, which I appreciated. The exam bed was well padded and comfortable. MT gathered additional information about my medical/surgical history during the ultrasound which were added to the notes for the Radiologist. My husband was scheduled for an Xray of his arm last august 23rd at the Imaging Healthcare Poway and there was a male Rep in the front desk and told him that my husband has a copay of a $120. We have a very good insurance under Healthcomp (scripps health)and we are zero copay for Xray and Ultrasound. My husband asked the rep where he got that amount of a $120 but He kept looking in the computer and just said ,that's the copay. My husband left and did not do the Xray. I called my insurance the same day to inform them that we had this experience in the Imaging Healthcare and they're charging us for a copay and Healthcomp made a clarification that we are not entitled for any copay. Today , August 28 Healthcomp called me to follow up and we had a 3 way call with the Imaging Healthcare with a lady named KIRSTEIN , in the beginning of the conversation she was already mean and I told her that she was mean talking to me. Healthcomp made it clear with her that we do not have any copay and I started sharing my husband's experience with the front desk person last august 23 and she just SLAMMED THE PHONE DOWN! In my opinion that was very unprofessional of her and she should be ashamed of her behavior and the Healthcomp representative was appalled . This needs to be addressed to the management. read more

I needed assistance getting to the MRI table and The gentlemen performing the MRI is extremely Proffesional and kind. He explained everything step by step. They have system which they sent me a text , I alert them when I arrive, then they sent me a check in link so I checked in on my cell phone. When the technician is ready, they sent me a text tell me come in at zone D. The technician greeted me right at the door, took me to the exam room. Very quick and simple process. It's very important during the Covid every is worry for their safety and they done a very good job. My technician is very professional and nice. Thank you. They deserve 5 stars. No AC, rude Tech and old equipment. Would not recommend. I scheduled an MRI appt at Poway because they had the earliest appointment. I have been to the Vista and Encinitas IHS locations, and have never had any issues. This was my first, and will be last, appt at Poway. When I walked in the front desk staff was nice and helpful, but I immediately noticed how hot it was. There was clearly no AC on. They had the front door open but I was sweating in the waiting room before I even got called back. When I was called back, the MRI tech was immediately rude. I unfortunately don't remember his first name but he did call himself "Minister". I was there for a neck scan and let him know laying flat was uncomfortable and asked if he could slightly raise my head or put something under so I wasn't miserable for the entire scan. He did not bother to try to accommodate my request, or try at all to make me feel at ease (I also needed a head cage and chest/neck plate and was a little uneasy). I was surprised that the tech also made me keep my mask on for the duration of the scan. I was at another location a few weeks ago and as soon as I stepped into the room, I was told I could take it off and had it off for the entire scan. Since the tech is in a completely separate room during the scan, I am not sure why it was necessary. I understand if that is policy but thought it was odd that it varied from location to location, and that they wouldn't let you know ahead of time. At my last scan (another location), I immediately noticed and even commented that the MRI machine was newer and quite a bit wider than the older, tiny tunnel machines. It also had an open back so it made it feel brighter and more open when I was inside. I don't think anyone could be comfortable in those tunnels, but it did make it slightly more bearable. For this scan, the machine was just enough to fit me inside (I'm 5'3, 125lbs) and can't imagine how a larger person would fit and be anywhere near comfortable. The room was also extremely poorly lit, making it feel even more uninviting. I did ask for a copy of my images at the end of my appointment, which they did provide. Most other offices get it out in ~5-10 minutes - Poway took 25. I will gladly wait an extra few days to go to any other location from here on out. read more
