Fantastic experience from start to finish - had a nice brunch here and it was exactly what we wanted - love the atmosphere and the food is always excellent. Service is top notch! Burrata is a top choice for us, and loved the avocado toast.

This review is for the restaurant. The ambience is beautiful! Feels like a true get away even if you are not staying at the Inn. I enjoyed the drinks, food and service. Lovely place. I recommended for bigger occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations etc.

Love how beautiful this place is. It's like you're in a totally different town and not in NY. The brussel sports were so tasty, it was sweet and salty due to the grapes. I would not eat the truffle pizza as it was dry and did not have enough cheese. It was like eating bread. Truffle fries is a must and you can't go wrong with ordering that

Valley Rock inn not only is the location spectacular the food was delicious!!! The dining area outside had fans which was very nice since it was so warm out. When it started raining we didn't get wet despite sitting outside. The food was cooked to perfection. It was simple but tasty. We only had pizza. It was thin crust and super cheesy.

This review is for the Cantina. We've also been to the other restaurant that's a little more upscale. The drinks & food are great as well. We decided to try the cantina because I thought the menu sounded even better. We started with the brussel sprouts cause we were really hungry. I got the short rib, it was really good & a big portion. My husband got the chicken Milanese. The presentation was beautiful & my husband enjoyed it. The drinks were great here too. I forgot which margarita we got but it was so good! We sat at the bar but I think when the weather is nice & it's open air I would get a table. The fire pits outside are really nice & welcoming too if you decided to hang out longer.

Valley Rock Inn was one of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever eaten at. You walk in and you immediately feel like you have been transported into somewhere in Europe. The food was so good. Sadly I was having too good of a time to take pictures but ... the Brussels sprouts ...... the truffle fries ...... absolutely delicious. It was cold when I visited so none of the outdoor seating was available... but i cannot wait to go back. A great place to go with a group or even on a date. They had fire pits ... so cute.

So pretty. Great food. Nice and hard working waitress. But. I took my mother who is 93 and having some struggles walking. She has a cane. And the walk from the entrance to the Cantina is a little far (first time so we didn't know). The Hostess seating is was very impatient with Mom. Walked way ahead of us and kept looking back as to say,"can you move a little faster". She finally turned around and told us she was going back to other people and will return after she would seat them. She left us. Not so nice and we kinda felt snubbed. So.... Food was good, server was good but I don't need to get snubbed and feel awkward for my mother while I'm trying to enjoy a nice day out.

Absolutely LOVE everything about Valley Rock Inn. The houses you stay in as a guest are so comfortable and make you feel right at home. Each morning you are dropped off pastries, fruit and coffee/tea and it is such an elevated touch to your stay. The property is stunning and there are so many good spots to enjoy a cup of coffee or cocktail. They have an amazing pool and fire pit areas as well. Another bonus to this property is the cantina restaurant on-site, the food is to die for. There is also the cutest market on-site as well that has all the snacks, drinks, sweet treats your heart could desire. If you ever get a chance to stay here I highly recommend it.

Wow. I cannot believe this place exists in my home town. What they did with the space here is nothing short of remarkable. We came here for Mother's Day with my family and everyone had such a fabulous time. The ambience i was lovely, food was tasty, and the service was on point. As soon as you walk in, you know you've walked into a special place. The decor is curated carefully and I can't wait to be back when the roses are in full bloom. Valley Rock Inn is a perfect place to impress your date or celebrate milestones & special occasions with loved ones. Can't wait to be back!

They were welcoming and we were greeted even though we didn't check in until 9:30ish. We opted to have our breakfast delivered to the room since we like to lounge around in the mornings. This was our FAVORITE part of the whole weekend! The first morning, we had scrambled eggs, sausage, and fresh fruit with blueberry pancakes. The second morning, we had stuffed french toast with bacon and fruit. Can I just say that I still crave both dishes, even after a month? They were the tastiest pancakes and stuffed french toast ever! Plus, we had a cute little view of the pond from our room. Long story short, I would highly recommend taking a weekend trip here. We booked the Appalachian Room and it had a fairly large jacuzzi as well, so that was a plus.

The only down comment I'd like to make is that if you are a big person or are claustrophobic, do NOT book the Fox and Hound room. The bathroom is small, and the shower is very small, so you'd have to book a different room. But don't let that deter you from booking here. You'll like this place.

This review is for Comfort Suites Mahway - Paramus at 229 SR-17…read more THIS HOTEL IS OWNED AND MANAGED BY A PERSON WHO DOESN'T HONOR CHOICE HOTEL REWARD REGULATIONS... AND DOESN'T RESPECT CONTEMPORARY WOMEN OR PEOPLE WHO ARE IN LONG-TERM PARTNERSHIPS. My 15-year-old son won a local tennis tournament and needed a last-minute hotel room, so I booked a room at 11:30 pm using reward Choice points for him and his mother. The manager and owner refused to let them stay at the hotel because her driver's license didn't have my last name. The Choice Hotels Rewards program clearly says immediate family, children and partners can stay at hotels booked using reward points (see below) The manager said 'there's a lot of fraud these days' in the Choice Points Hotel program and DEMANDED a marriage certificate (which is not required by Choice Rewards rules). Bottom line, at midnight, the owner and manager kicked my family out of the hotel. They wouldn't let them stay there EVEN THOUGH I USED 6,000 REWARD POINTS AND PAID AN ADDITIONAL $48 for the night. And they kicked them out without refunding my credit card payment or points. I swear this is the truth. IF YOU'RE A MODERN WOMAN who believes you should be able to keep your own last name (and not have to carry a marriage certificate to prove you're married) - or if you're a man who supports women keeping their own identity, STAY ANYWHERE ELSE. IF YOU HAVE A LONG-TERM PARTNER as part of your immediate family and you believe businesses should consider your long-term partner as part of your family, STAY ANYWHERE ELSE. IF YOU BELIEVE A COMPANY SHOULD HONOR THEIR REWARD PROGRAM (see picture for points redemption rules), STAY ANYWHERE ELSE. Where we spend our money sends a message, I'm asking you to send a message to this hotel owner and stay somewhere else instead of here. Thank you.

Full disclosure: it was my mother who looked up the Dey Mansion and requested to go there on a recent-ish visit. It wouldn't have been my first choice of things to do on a sunny Saturday but she's the guest and a total history nerd and it was something to check out. I can't say I didn't enjoy it at least a little bit... while my mom is a history nerd, I'm a design nerd and the house itself, built by the Dey Family, is beauuuuuufitul. The brick, the wide plank wood floors inside, the gorgeous [paint] colors used throughout were just striking on every level. Then the layout and design and function of the house back in the 1700's is so different then how we live in our homes now -- so interesting. The gardens surrounding the property are also so lovely. Here's my one issue with the historical site and tour -- when we inquired we were told it was 'less than an hour for sure' depending on how many people/questions. While the tour guide was nice enough, he was verrrrrrry long winded. There were 6 of us.. and that tour was most definitely longer than an hour. Not sure if that's the case every time but just something to be prepared for should you decide to visit. Cost for the tours was supposed to be $5 but during out visit they had just begun some restorations and certain spaces were closed off... so they didn't insist on guest paying. They still accepted donations though. Parking is also free, fyi. And the mansion is easy to get to from routes 23, 46 and 80.

That said we got the idea that money might be tight becuse the level of expected service was not there. We ordered a charcuturie board and a bottle of wine and was told it was delivered to our room. We had been traveling all day and arrived after the onsite restaurants had closed. The board was not there. They handed us a bottle of wine but there was no board! The nice lady at the front desk got the workers who were cleaning up the kitchen to fix us a board and we eventually got it and it was delivered to the room without utensils, napkins or plates.
