Is this B&B by the police station and restaurant's and the Harbor Cove living area?

We are a 5-7 minute walk from there, along the sparkill creek. Hope that helps

It was perfect for walking to Ye Burying Yard since that has nowhere to park. Enjoyed my room with the dial-on fireplace, the heated towel rack, and great water pressure. The room was spacious, and well appointed. Loved the four poster bed in the Dogwood suite, and bed was comfy. Also loved that I was next door to the Keeler Tavern Museum. Loved getting to look at a place my ancestors had visited. Beautiful property. Breakfast was small but nice: small quiche, small selection of pastries, coffee/ tea, some cheeses. The personalized pin key entry worked well. Hope to be back at some point. Loved it.

The house was warm and she had most of the windows open to "get fresh air in." It turns out the air conditioning can't keep up but never mind that. We were there for my brother's wedding being held right next door. At 4:30pm we were literally sitting in the front row waiting for wedding to start - we are talking at any second, not minute, any second it was to start - I see my brother motion to me to come to him. He then tells me that we were being kicked out of the precious Fountain Inn because we had a 3-year-old. Not knowing when I paid for the overpriced $482 room that they didn't allow kids under 12 is certainly on me. However, Morgan should have said something immediately and not waited 3 1/2 hours and wait for moment the wedding was about to start to throw us all to the street (my 85-year-old was with us to boot). Morgan claims there was a complaint, however there was just one other couple staying there and they left for lunch as we were coming in. Within an hour, most of the wedding party was in the self-important Fountain Inn, and you can't tell me there was some mystery complaint over a 3-year-old when 12 to 15 people were getting ready for a wedding. I'm sorry, but Morgan is a liar. The wedding wound up being delayed because Morgan chooses that time to throw us all out on the street. We had to gather our things and move to another place. To enhance Morgan's rude and grossly ill-timed eviction, she had to send me a "As per our conversation" text message - again right as the wedding trying to start. The Fountain Inn is run by completely unprofessional staff and grossly overpriced for antiquated accommodation. There are too many far better options in the area to stay here.

My wife and I have stayed at the Residence Inn in Orangeburg several times over the years, and…read morehonestly, it's disappointing to see how much the property has gone downhill. What makes this more frustrating is that many of these same issues were brought up during our last stay. We spoke directly with the property manager while checking out, and at the time, he apologized, offered Marriott points, and assured us things would improve moving forward. Based on that conversation, we expected a much better experience this time around. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The experience started off poorly at check-in. I asked the front desk associate how to use the mobile key feature since I had never used it before. His response was, "I never used it either, so I don't know." That immediately set the tone. It's hard to understand how staff at a Marriott property are not trained on basic guest features like mobile key access. The interaction itself also felt rushed and inconvenienced, even though the lobby was empty at the time. Later, after going back outside to grab a few things from our vehicle, I came back through the lobby and realized why the interaction felt that way; the front desk associate was sitting behind the bar watching a basketball game on TV. The next night, I saw the same thing again. From a guest standpoint, it just doesn't give off a professional or welcoming impression. I also asked about the new $10/daily parking charge, which now applies even to Marriott members. I was told the fee was added because the hotel needed to repair the parking lot. The problem is, the parking lot looked exactly the same as it did during our previous stays. There were no visible improvements, repairs, or upgrades that justified adding another fee to the stay. Once we got into the room, things only got worse. The kitchen area clearly had not been cleaned properly. The cookware had residue and buildup, and the stovetop was covered in burnt-on grime. We ended up having to wash things ourselves before using them because nothing felt clean enough to cook with comfortably. The oven was honestly concerning. There was residue all over the inside, whether it was old food buildup or leftover oven cleaner, I honestly couldn't tell. Either way, it didn't look safe or sanitary to use. The overall condition of the kitchen cabinetry was rough as well. The countertop seam was separating, the cabinet under the sink was hanging crooked and looked like it was about to fall off the hinge, and one of the upper cabinet doors was so loose that we genuinely thought it might come down while opening it. There were also obvious signs that the room had not been inspected between guests. Under the bar area near the stools, there was an "X"-shaped dog treat left behind. We found a hair scrunchie inside the dresser drawer, and the biggest surprise of all was a personalized wedding fan left in the room, engraved with the names "Mainali and Ankur 05.22.2026." Considering our check-in date was the very next day, 05.23.2026, it made it even more obvious that the room had not been properly inspected or turned over before our arrival. So congratulations to Mainali and Ankur, but clearly the room was not properly checked before the next guests arrived. What made all of this even more disappointing is that we didn't book a basic room. We consistently book the 1-Bedroom Executive Suite or 1-Bedroom Suite because we are willing to pay more for a cleaner and better overall experience. Instead, the suite felt worn down, neglected, and nowhere near the standard we would expect from a Marriott-branded property. The issues extended beyond the room itself. The baggage carts throughout the hotel were damaged, wobbly, and barely functional. The pool area was also poorly managed. The website listed one opening time, the posted signage listed another, and the actual opening time ended up being different from both. Towels were also almost nonexistent. At one point, only two clean towels were brought out while used towels remained scattered around the pool area. To give credit where it's due, the outside of the property actually looked well-maintained. The landscaping and grounds were clean and cared for, and honestly looked much better than the interior condition of the hotel itself. No doubt this work is being handled by a third-party landscaping company because the exterior upkeep was noticeably better managed than the actual hotel operations. The groundskeeping team appears to be doing a much better job than hotel management. Having worked in hotels during my college years and now working in business management professionally, I understand that every property faces operational challenges. But there's a difference between occasional issues and a consistent pattern of poor upkeep, lack of oversight, and declining standards. At this point, I wouldn't just be looking into management at this individual property; I would be reviewing other hotels overseen b

Reservations filled quickly, so I felt lucky to secure a 12:00 noon table for four -- my wife, mother-in-law, son, and me. The brunch featured a prix-fixe menu, and honestly, everything sounded delicious. My son and I ordered Bloody Marys, while my wife and mother-in-law chose mimosas. I was starting to feel very sophisticated at that point. The croissants with assorted spreads and jams were outstanding. I started with the oysters, which were perfectly prepared and practically melted in your mouth. My wife was initially going to order the mixed salad, but I convinced her to try the burrata and prosciutto instead -- a great decision. My son ordered the spicy yellowfin tuna pizzetta, and my mother-in-law had the cream of artichoke soup. I sampled everything except the soup; I didn't think sticking my spoon into my mother-in-law's bowl was the best idea. Everything we tasted was excellent. The entrées were equally impressive. My salmon was unbelievably fresh, my son's filet mignon was tender and flavorful, and my wife's lobster eggs Benedict was rich and delicious. My mother-in-law enjoyed the spring vegetable quiche. Up until that point, everything had gone smoothly. Then service started to slip a bit. Desserts were taking an unusually long time, and no one had come over to ask whether we wanted coffee, espresso, cappuccino, or tea. When I finally requested coffee, the waiter didn't even ask what kind we wanted. The general manager came over and apologized for the delay, but I struggled to explain that the issue wasn't just the wait -- it was the lack of attention to detail and service standards you expect at a restaurant like the Kittle House, especially at this price point. I was happy to pay for a fine dining experience; I simply expected the service to match. What really caught me off guard was when he responded by asking, "Do you work in restaurants?" I found that somewhat offensive, as if my opinion needed credentials to be valid. Ironically, I actually have 30 years of hospitality experience, including work at Forbes-rated properties. To their credit, the waiter later apologized, and they removed the coffee charge from the bill. Despite the service hiccup, I would absolutely return. It honestly seemed like they were understaffed, with too few experienced servers and too much reliance on bus staff trying to keep up with a very busy holiday crowd.
