He doesn't sub-out the roof work or employ multiple crews at once, like some. 3) Bid came in @ a thousand cheaper than other local roofers EXTRA TOUCHS 1) replaced fascia, drip edge, and shingles on a little overhang over our Kitchen window that I didn't consider part of the building's roof, but was greatly appreciated. 2) Spray painted all vents and exhaust stacks to match the roof decore so they blended in 3) Re-attached a solar security light and screwed it into a metal roof vent so that it didn't create another roof penetration. 4) Used leaf blower to disperse all sand/grit from all rain gutters and back patio. Diego's wife, Mindy was quick to respond via e-mail to all inquiries. They showed up each day on time and completed work on schedule despite a 3-day weekend. The tear off crew that tore off the old roof tarped off all bushess, garage door, and front porch. They moved deck chairs and BBQ out of the way. They even performed some light tree trimming (which was a bonus) in order to give themselves enough room to work. I appreciated this, because it will actually make my yard maintenance easier in the fall. They swept up all debris and I have yet to find a single stray nail or staple around my property. Diego Lopez communicated all start and stop times. Asked special permission to show up at 7AM in order to avoid the afternoon heat. Something that I appreciated because my 4yr. old doesn't like surprise noises. As mentioned, Diego rebuilt the fascia boards, drip edge, and shingles over a small overhang outside our Kitchen window - an extra that I don't recall being listed on the work order but was appreciated even though it was not technically part of the building's roof. On the last day, Diego's crew used a magnetic mop to catch any stray nails and used a leaf blower to disperse any grit/sand. As mentioned, they spray painted all exhaust stacks and vents a gray color to match the decore of the roof shingles so they blend in with the rest of the roof.

The Owner/Contractor David Saruhanov came out to meet me and discuss the project. He offered much more than the other two bids I got and he was very specific of the job they would do. What was most important to me was the warrantees, which he offered 25 year warranty for workmanship, and 50 warranty from GAF for any materials that should not hold up. The other two proposals only offered either a 7 year or 10 year warranty. I had a very good feeling when discussing the project with David that he would deliver what he said. And that is exactly what happened. I would highly recommend anyone needing roof repairs, new roofs, or reroofs, to check out The American Cool Construction Company. I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area most of my life, where solar panels aren't on most homes, so my knowledge of Solar Panels was nada. When we bought a new home with solar panels in Woodland, we learned the hard way. Last month, I received a PG&E true-up bill for more than $1k! The PG&E rep gave me a quick crash course: clean your panels. Since there's no way I'm getting on the roof of my house, I searched for a solar maintenance business on the NextDoor App - Viola! I found The Orange Solar. They came out the next day to clean my panels, which would give me +30% absorption. You can't tell from ground level that it was covered in dirt and bird droppings. There were all sorts of bird nestings beneath it, which would damage my roof over time. At the same appointment, they discovered my inverter was faulty. They contacted the manufacturer and got them to cover it under my warranty, and Orange Solar replaced it for a reasonable price the next day after receiving the part. They are very thorough, they love to help the locals, they are affordable, and they are overall good people. They are the only certified business in Woodland that does this stuff.
