We had True Roofing replace our single story roof on our vacation rental last month. While the…read morefinal job came out well, we did have some issues. We had 5 bids placed, and they weren't the most expensive, but they were definitely not the cheapest either. The salesman seemed knowledgeable and wasn't too pushy. The scheduling was pretty flexible and the communication was decent. However, the week the job started, the sales manager was out of town and didn't let me know. I had no contact person to determine how the job was going, and had no one sending pics or available to answer questions about possible damage and leaks from the previous roof that I had concerns about. I finally received an email (later in the week) from the owner minimizing my concerns and still not giving any contact info from someone actually on site. On Friday, he then lets me know (no call, just email) that the gutters hadn't been done because the machine broke, and would probably be the following week. I responded with guests would be there and we had limited time. The next day we see that men showed up to do the gutters (didn't tell me they were coming) with a rented machine. The final problem was Monday. I emailed the owner again and said I wanted to look over things before the final payment, and he said Monday was my last chance before the building inspector showed up, and I would have to be there early. So I took off work, drove up there for 9am and there was no one in sight. I got on the roof with my blower, only to discover the gutter guards were not installed. When the guys showed up about an hour later) I was told that I wasn't supposed to have them. I said check again, and then they realized their mistake. I also spent 45 mins blowing the roof and gutters off. I emailed the owner again asking for a phone call to discuss some issues, and he basically blew me off. I received a follow up call from the sales manager a few days later. He was apologetic, but also a little defensive when I pushed back on some of his arguments. There were no concessions made for the timing issues, missed items, or my time that was wasted. So, my take overall: roof install looks good, price was ok (on the high side), communication during the job was awful, and the customer service response post completion was poor.
