We're used Mike Rabaino roofing three times so far and they have always provided prompt and outstanding service. Most recently, during a prolonged rain storm, we noticed an interior leak (water dripping from the top of a bedroom window). Jeronimo arrived the same day we called and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem (clogged gutters and damaged flashing around the kitchen skylight). This company did work/repairs on my roof after inspecting my house for the sale/appraisal process of the home. This is not a company that I chose as it was chosen by the buyers realtor. A bid was submitted and I specifically instructed them not to do one portion of the work because I would be taking care of this part. I spoke once to the owner's wife and once to the gentleman who came to do the work and told them that the tree trimming would be taken care of by me or an arborist. By the end of the day my tree was trimmed and I was charged for it. My written complaints and concerns about the billing were acknowledged but not rectified. I don't care for the business practices of this company and I would warn anyone working with them to pay attention to the bill. They do not itemize their labor and supply costs. Basically you don't know what you are paying for. It's just billed in one lump sum. read more

They damaged our roof near our skylights and severely overcharged us to boot (10 GRAND more than our initial bid). Attached are pictures of the two (2!) skylights that they have still refused to fix after having ignored countless calls and emails. They haven't ever, ever gotten back to us and I'm sick of walking past the blatant damage to our ceiling after years of staring at it. It was 2018 when they "fixed" our roof, and I'm not even sure what else to do at this point. I'm taking this to yelp because they've had countless opportunities to fix the damage and opted instead to ignore us. Take your business elsewhere. In May if 2016, I had my roof redone by Rabaino Roofing. It had been around 20 years, so I had to have the old roof removed and some repairs done. Also had my porch completely roofed--originally had only about 1/3 covered per the style at the time. My roof was removed and repairs done in one day. The next day the roof was completed. I also had new gutters installed--mine were totally outdated. Because I have a lot of trees around my home--heavy duty gutters were installed. I love my new roof, especially my new porch and gutters. I called a reputable local company to come out and do an estimate on a leak. After showing up unannounced and 3 days after their scheduled appointment they were only interested in replacing my roof and not fixing my leak. In fact, they said they would try to fix my leak but couldn't guarantee the work and charge me $500. I then called Mr. Rabaino's office where I had a much different experience. I was quickly contacted by his office and had an appointment the very next day. Not only did he fix the leak in my roof for less than half the price but he gave me a free quote for the roof. I already know that when it's time for replacing my roof who I'm going to call. Excellent customer service, speedy and affordable.... Yes, it's been a cool summer here in the stinking Central Valley and everyone is likely paying less for their utilities than last year, but probably not less than us. In my previous review I mentioned the whole house fan we had installed and how we need to increase the venting in out unfinished attic to handle the exhaust air. Rabiano Roofing took care of that for us, but I'm getting ahead of myself. What I really want to say here is this: architectural standards of the past created an enormous heat sink in the attics of every home built in california- fortunately this isn't a wiki article so I don't have to cite references. Our whole house fan is great, but it uses electricity and can only be effectively run at certain times of the day. ADEQUATE PASSIVE VENTING will keep your house cooler for free, for ever, without a watt of electrical energy. Rabiano Roofing did us a solid! We had a couple of home visits to get a proper estimate and revision of what we need to have done after crunching numbers that would work with our new house fan. Somewhere along the lines of communication the revision of the estimate and the work order were fouled. We ended up getting both a ridge vent installed along with some needed shingle repair and installation of fourteen under gable vents. The office recognized their error and comped us the ridge vent. The crew were professional and prompt, the owner concerned and courteous, and the office staff was really helpful in figuring out (through the fan manufacturer's arcane pdf files) just exactly what we needed. The crew did the whole job in less than one day and really tried to get every last bit of mess cleaned up from the work site. I'm just glad I didn't find any of those errant nails in my, or my daughter's or wife's foot. read more

We recently had our house reroofed by Rabaino Roofing. The job itself was reasonably fast and the roof appears to be fine but it's still too early to say how it will fare. During the work I caught one of the workers urinating in my backyard shed, and after the job was finished we found a few dozen nails lying all over the yard which is concerning since our children play there. In the final invoice they tried to overcharge me by $1000. When I pointed out their invoice didn't match the original contract, it took a few emails for them to realize their mistake and then they blamed an intern (apparently their billing is done by interns with no oversight or double checks). Overall not particularly professional, and I'd recommend anyone hiring them to be careful both with the workers and the billing. read more

Had difficulties connecting with this company in the beginning, but after that first snafu, it's been fine. Have had two roof leaks, Mike Rabaino's service has been quick to respond via email. Usually, they book out a few weeks but have always been able to call me up and complete the fix early when they have an opening. Very happy with their service, will keep using them. read more

I'm giving Rabino two stars only because they seem to have a good reputation in Davis. I need a roof repair, and I want bids. Different companies vary widely in how much they charge. I already have two bids (no charge) one for $1600 and one for $3600. Rabino, however, won't even come & look without charging $65. They will apply that $65 to your repair (if you use them). But without knowing what they will charge, I find their approach coercive and unfair. I won't waste my money just to discover that their bid is way more than others. I guess they have all the work they need, otherwise this unfair practice makes no sense. read more

Mike, the owner was able to meet us on short notice, in Davis on Saturday to look at our roof. This was very helpful for us as we are out of town landlords . He was able to return the following Monday to do the repair. He was extremely pleasant, professional and there to help with a smile. If 10 stars were possible I would be giving him that! I hesitate to give even one star. He showed up to do a roof inspection for a potential buyer and did not even ask if he could be on the roof. I heard someone tromping around up there and he looked down at me as if he owned the place and told me he had knocked. I should have called the police. I will never, ever hire this company. We also decided to have the gutters replaced and we also needed to add in three inches of insulation to bring it up to code. We replaced our entire roof (had shake) with Presidential TL shingles. I received over 9 bids and Rabiano was tied for the cheapest with Lowe's and Home Depot but our neighbors had previously worked with Rabiano and had a fantastic result. They were timely, cordial, easy to get a hold of, and their crew extremely clean leaving no trash or nails when the job was complete. They also replaced 4 skylights and similarly did an excellent job there. Would highly recommend and although I don't plan on a roof for another 30 years would definitely use again. George read more

We had our roof replaced recently as part of a collective group of four homes doing the work at one time. We had several bids and Rabaino Roofing was competitively priced, thorough in their outlined scope of work expectations, and patient with each of the individual homeowners with regard to questions, etc. The work was scheduled and a team of workers arrived on time, materials were delivered, inspections and permits completed, and all four homes were re-roofed in four and a half days! Three of the four homes had new gutters installed and they look wonderful! The full team of Rabaino workers were respectful and exceptionally nice...quite a feat given the Woodland summer heat! Because this company is exceptionally busy, my only suggestion for improvement would be to work a little more on returning phone calls. Once I found out that email communication was faster - the problem was resolved. We don't expect to have a need to roof another home soon but, if we did, we would make our first and only call to Rabaino Roofing! read more

Highly not recommended. They quoted me a wrong price, forgot my appointment and are very difficult to get a hold of.

My complaint is about their billing, not the quality of their work. We called Rabaino on the recommendation of our real estate agent for an emergency repair (roof leak). They sent out two guys quickly and their repair seems to be holding up. I had an extremely favorable impression of them... until the bill appeared. The issue is that they massively padded the hours on the bill, and there's no itemization. They billed PER MAN for their time to drive to my house in Davis from Woodland, even though (according to the dispatcher) they were already in Davis. They billed for time (again, for two people) to drive to the dump for disposal, even though there was nothing to dispose. They billed for the time that one of the guys spent taking measurements for a bid for a roof replacement this summer. Finally, they billed for time the workers spent idle while their office wrote up their estimate, e-mailed it to us without any instructions, and waited a half-hour for our response. In all, we were billed for 3.5 man-hours for a job where they spent less than an hour at my house. I don't have a problem paying for the work they actually did, and their materials. I accept paying a bit of a premium for emergency work, but this was really egregious. I really think their communication skills are lacking. When my wife called them to discuss the bill, the owner's wife was condescending and rude. When discussing the travel time, she justified it by saying that she had to pay her workers for their time. Setting aside the ridiculous idea that travel time should pay the same rate as actual work time, and the similarly ridiculous idea that BOTH GUYS in the truck should be paid that rate, their first-hour rate is already 50% higher than their subsequent hours to cover things like travel time. I've never paid for travel time when (for example) I've had a plumber or electrician come to do emergency work. The owner's wife acted like she was doing us some sort of favor by later removing their idle time (which was their fault) and the measuring time. She also told my wife that they had responded so quickly as a favor to our real estate agent. I'd hate to see what the bill is like when it's NOT a favor. Needless to say, my wife told her not to bother with their bid for roof replacement. It's amazing that they would try to gouge us on a several-hundred-dollar repair, knowing they could be building goodwill for tens of thousands of dollars in work this summer. Their loss. read more

The worst roofing company EVER! Before I purchased my new house, they quoted me $6000 for the new roof. After I purchased the house, I contacted them to discuss the detail about the quote and no one ever call back even I left couple voice mail. Finally I was able to talk to them but they told me they made some mistakes and the new roof actually costs $5000 more! Are u kidding me?!! However, I still want to go into the detail with them as Rabaino was recommended by the broker. I had an appointment with Rabaino at 1pm, but I waited until 1:40pm and two girls showed up slowly walking from the parking lot to the office. Rabaino still didn't show up until I left at 3pm. Good luck you guys if you want to do business with Rabaino. I would rate negative 5 star if there is a choice! read more
