    Private room for sleep study.

Valley Sleep Center provided an exceptional experience. The front office staff was polite, professional, patient, and prompt. The technician was knowledgeable and spent 10 hours developing data for my doctor to review. I have a lot of respect for their ability to work through the night to help me with a debilitating sleep disorder.

Bathroom with two grab bars, identified as the Valley Sleep Center in Chandler.
Actual bathroom had no grab bars.

The technician - Jaime - that set me up and then followed the sleep study was friendly and informative. Had the rating been about him there would be five stars. The room itself was bright and clean. As was the adjoining bathroom. still five stars. But there were NO grab bars in the bathroom. Having had a fall or two, I noticed the lack of grab bars right away and asked about it. I was told that although there are no grab bars they could send in a female attendant if I needed help. Okay, not quite the same thing but I was okay. Luckily I did not need help. Rating is down to four stars. I probably would not be writing this review if I had not noticed that in the photographs that Valley Sleep Center has of its facilities, the bathroom shown has not one but two grab bars with the photograph taken to show this. Then I was trying to remember the last time a bathroom in a medical facility did not have grab bars. I sometimes need them so as I said before I notice. Then it occurred to me there were grab bars in the bathroom at the mall. I remember grab bars in the bathrooms in last restaurant I was in. In fact so many places have them now, places that do not have them stand out a bit. Okay technician was great, room was clean and bright and a comfortable bed. All things that should result in more than the three stars I'll leave as a rating. Not only did the bathrooms not have grab bars but I'm guessing management understood the importance of having the grab bars resulting in a photograph that does not accurately represent the facility. Having a female technician assist me in the bathroom just isn't the same as being able to safely take care of myself.

Great way to "apologize" by pointing out how wrong the patient is.

I really like Dr. Bohan, but the East Valley Clinic is a disaster…read more At my 2nd appointment (10:30 AM), I waited more than 2 hours and was told I'd be "the next patient after lunch". I LEFT. Currently I've been trying for nearly a week to reschedule an appointment. I've never reached a real person and have left 4 messages. No one has returned any of my calls.

I am submitting this complaint regarding Dr. Arturo Castro Jr. at East Valley Center for Pulmonary…read more& Sleep Disorder due to unprofessional conduct, dissemination of false information, and what I believe to be retaliatory patient abandonment. My wife has stage four lung cancer. Over the past three months, she has been repeatedly hospitalized at Banner Hospital and Mercy Gilbert Hospital due to tumor progression in her lungs and recurrent pneumonia. During these hospitalizations, Dr. Castro was one of the physicians who evaluated her. One day prior to my wife's discharge from the hospital, I spoke directly with Dr. Castro and requested that oxygen be arranged for her transportation home and continued home use. Dr. Castro stated that he would not order oxygen unless my wife came to his office for a follow-up appointment first, after which he would submit an order to Preferred Home Care. I explained that during prior hospitalizations, oxygen was arranged directly by the hospital before discharge. Dr. Castro responded that this "is not how it works" and that my wife "would not be approved" unless she first saw him in his office. This information was false. Hospitals are fully able to arrange discharge oxygen when medically necessary, which was later confirmed by hospital staff and another pulmonologist. The interaction left me with the strong impression that Dr. Castro was intentionally creating barriers in order to force an office visit before providing medically necessary equipment. Because my wife was extremely weak, we planned to follow up with pulmonology once she stabilized. After discharge, we contacted the same office to schedule an appointment with a different pulmonologist. At that time, we were told by office staff that my wife's name had been marked in the system as "Do Not Accept Patient" under Dr. Castro's instructions. I was shocked. My wife has done nothing wrong. She is a critically ill cancer patient who requires medical care. Blocking her from accessing any physician in that practice appears retaliatory and punitive simply because I questioned inaccurate information provided by Dr. Castro. This behavior raises serious concerns: * Retaliation against a patient * Interference with access to care * Dissemination of false medical and administrative information * Possible patient abandonment Physicians take an oath to place patient welfare first. Denying or obstructing care to a terminally ill patient because a family member questioned incorrect information is unacceptable. My wife is fighting for her life. She should never be used as leverage in a personal or financial dispute. I am requesting that this matter be formally reviewed and documented. I also strongly advise patients to be cautious when seeking care from this provider.

Two days prior to appt w/CBT it was cx'd as I was told 'he had an appt'. What? Explained situation that I've been on books for 2 months and awaiting sleep test. Was told I'd be put on 'immediate cancellation list' for next few days. Never was contacted. Sleep test: home test went horribly wrong from the start. Technician not available to instruct me on equip so front desk receptionist showed me in 7 mins. Failed to mention one cannot sleep on side or face down w/kit. I pulled out 100 hairs as sticky's moved during night to scalp. System did not read. They ordered a second test of differing kind: Velcro strap was sized for girth of a horse and slipped off during night, so again no read. Asked to repeat test and was told 'no'. Ok, now for tele call for results from Wilmar- had appt for 10 am...9.55 she's not signed on yet, 10 not signed on. 10:05. 10:10 no sign on. Finally I call front office and she eventually calls me back asking if I'd like to reschedule for off appt. She didn't know how to use telecall! We had 8 min of conversation which she just read from report and could not explain anything to me. Waste of time and money. Do not recommend. Found out later CBT left practice. I never once saw an MD. Wilma did recommend an at clinic sleep study. Hard pass as wouldn't trust them to do a proper study.

I was having problems with my voice for the last 3 months and I felt uncomfortable swallowing at times. I scheduled an appointment for 9/23. 2 days later a person on her office staff called me and told me she would do a Telemedicine call only and if she saw fit, She would have me come in. GREAT! Docs are now charging patients their full copay, mine is $30 for a telephone consult an then charge another $30 to come into the office to be checked. $60.....come on! So, I call my other ENT in Phoenix. They told me by all means, come in, we even have an opening tomorrow. So I went in and had a full exam. He even scoped my throat by putting a endoscope in my nose and down my throat and had me make certain sounds. The Dr. found some problems that I will not go into her but he told me to discontinue an inhaler that I was using that was prescribed by another Dr. He also said some of my problem may be due to acid reflux and I may have to change from OTC meds to something more suited for my condition. So tell me, how could that diagnosis been made via the phone? It wold have cost me $60 instead of $30. This Telemdicine this is a racket, a licence for doctors to increase their bottom line. They can charge you your deductible and code whatever they want to the insurance company. I have already dismissed 3 of my long term docs for bad practices like this. I dismissed my PCP last November after 15 years. I was in a car accident and went to the hospital emergency. The Hospital told me to see my PCP and follow up in 3 weeks with my PCP. My normal copay is $20 to my PCP and he wanted $150, what a rip for a follow up. I told them I am a patient for 15 years, they told me that they asked the Dr. and he said that is the rate.I tried to get the Dr. to change it but no go, so I quit his practice also. Why do doctors feel it is ok to fleece ther patients.
