My sleep monitoring experience at home was fine. But now to get a follow up appointment I have to WAIT SIX WEEKS. My job is dependent on this so I am off work until the doctor can find time to talk to me. The appointment is virtual at that. Go to another sleep center if you want to be treated in a timely manner. Valley Sleep Center - especially the front office staff - is the absolute worst in every possible way. They rarely answer the phone, they don't return calls, they respond to texts with irrelevant and/or incorrect information. When you show up for your appointment, they take their sweet time checking you in, they have zero personality, they are often short-tempered and rude, and the place is so small and so crowded and so loud that you can't even hear yourself think! My Dr sent sleep study referral Aug 5 Did not hear anything by Aug 11. Dr called to check and was told they were waiting for ins pre-authorization and we should hear 2-3 days. Called Aug 14 and was told they sent it off that day?!? My insurance called me Aug 15 with pre-authorization code sent to Center. It took them 3 hours to achieve in new day. Super confused about this business model. They either don't care, don't know any better or are doing this on purpose. There is sludge everywhere. Slow, cumbersome, long time between appointments etc. They don't have the capacity to process the volume in a timely manner. My dentist who specializes in sleep apnea sent me home with the watch after discussing insomnia. Since I don't want the mouth guard she makes, she sent my sleep study results to the sleep center for other options. No reply. I call, they have no trace of it, even though we have the fax cover page saying "delivery confirmed". Tried again, nope. I emailed from my email, still no. I have to go in person. Ok, so I go in person. Make a Saturday appointment, two weeks away. (Didn't ask for a Saturday). Told immediately that they don't accept other provider's sleep studies. Pay $148 for the sleep study watch. But I can't take the watch home on a Saturday! I have to come back Tuesday to pick it up. Show up on Tuesday, and was told I have to bring it back before 10am or I will get charged $100.....ooook? I bring the watch back today, and I ask how long to have the results? 1-2 weeks. (Why? This is an app. It should be immediately available). Anyways, I ask what is the next step? Do I need to make an appointment? Yes, apparently I do. Glad I asked because they already said bye. Today is the 22nd, next available is on November 3rd. (And if not that day, the 17th. Like, WHAT?) This is almost a month from today. Also, this was availability on Telehealth, availability in person is much farther out. Also...the paperwork. Totally overkill. I did all the patient portal stuff prior to my appointment only for the PA to ask the exact same questions at the appointment. And filled out the same questions when I took the folder home for my sleep study. And being asked for my ID and my insurance card every day (3 times over 5 days) is a bit much. Very administratively heavy. I very much look forward to having AI take over for such medical diagnostics. I did not got to the center in Chandler, my interaction was on the phone with the mail office. I found the staff to be short tempered and unwilling to assist in finding a solution to my issue. Well if their front desk staff would crack a smile and act like they care I think they turn to dust and blow away. Zero care that you're there or not. The c-pap the entire fitting they delved into about 5 minutes and kept telling me you do it you do it without showing me what it is or how to use it. I've had the thing now 5 months. The masks never did fit and if you have post nasal drip look out. It's going to choke you. Tried to go in to have a new fitting and they call you at 6pm and tell you they have no idea what you're talking about. The only time they do give a rats ass is when it's time to pay. Their only business model is snake oil sales. Useless uncaring and not health professionals. Avoid at all costs!!! read more

Another great experience today! Had my 6 month "check-up" after having my CPAP for 6 months. Arrived early. The waiting area was full so I opted to wait in the lobby with my mask on. I'm still on the mask thing when lots of people are around in a smallish space. Vitals were taken and I was called back soon after. Had a good, friendly conversation with Kim about progress. She's kind and friendly. I walked out feeling great about my sleep progress. I won't have to go back for a year and I very much appreciate that they track my progress and adjust things as necessary. read more

Then they require me to make an appointment just to pick something up. Now they are threatening me with a fee if I don't reply to thier text messages. Sadly, I have to agree with other reviewers who state they would give negative stars if they could. DO NOT GO THERE. I had my first sleep study done in late 2020 and my prescription was transferred to them for my machine and supplies, so I have tried to continue to deal with them sense. My prescription CLEARLY states, "the length of need of the above equipment/supplies will be for 99 mo/lifetime use." In 2023, when I needed a new machine, they claimed I needed a new prescription "because insurance requires it" which I don't believe was true, and they set me up with one of their providers, who of course, billed $$$. She wrote a new prescription that also CLEARLY states its for "99 mo/lifetime use." A month after selling me the new machine, they called claiming I had to have a follow-up appointment or "insurance won't pay" for the new machine. I said NO, and my insurance company had no problem with it. Now, they are claiming I need ANOTHER updated prescription just to order supplies, which is NOT true. My prescription doesn't expire for 76 months! ALSO, whenever I have called them I have had to sit on-hold for at least 30 minutes and sometimes longer in order to talk to anyone. read more

The technician - Jaime - that set me up and then followed the sleep study was friendly and informative. Had the rating been about him there would be five stars. The room itself was bright and clean. As was the adjoining bathroom. still five stars. But there were NO grab bars in the bathroom. Having had a fall or two, I noticed the lack of grab bars right away and asked about it. I was told that although there are no grab bars they could send in a female attendant if I needed help. Okay, not quite the same thing but I was okay. Luckily I did not need help. Rating is down to four stars. I probably would not be writing this review if I had not noticed that in the photographs that Valley Sleep Center has of its facilities, the bathroom shown has not one but two grab bars with the photograph taken to show this. Then I was trying to remember the last time a bathroom in a medical facility did not have grab bars. I sometimes need them so as I said before I notice. Then it occurred to me there were grab bars in the bathroom at the mall. I remember grab bars in the bathrooms in last restaurant I was in. In fact so many places have them now, places that do not have them stand out a bit. Okay technician was great, room was clean and bright and a comfortable bed. All things that should result in more than the three stars I'll leave as a rating. Not only did the bathrooms not have grab bars but I'm guessing management understood the importance of having the grab bars resulting in a photograph that does not accurately represent the facility. Having a female technician assist me in the bathroom just isn't the same as being able to safely take care of myself. read more

DO NOT GO THERE. First of all, they scheduled me one month out. Customer service is non-existent. I talked on the phone twice with Danielle who kept insisting that I need to pay 10% copay for my telehealth appointment. I corrected her twice that my telehealth visits are 100% covered by my insurance because it's been my experience since covid. Other medical center where such confusion happened let me keep my appointment and then asked if they can send me the bill if the insurance won't cover it. But Danielle couldn't allow that and forced me to reschedule a month out. I had to call my insurance and have a nice insurance customer rep call Valley Sleep Center to confirm my coverage which 100% covered my telehealth visits. So I said that an apology would be nice - and you can see a great bullying response from the supervisor of this sleep center. I was correct - and it makes Danielle absolutely wrong. No accountability. Oh, and the other thing I discovered when I went to cancel my appointment is that in their initial insurance quote, it says that my telehealth visits are fully covered and cost me $0. I first had a consultation with A dr I thought listened, but I was wrong . The staff is a joke. The dr wanted to switch my sleeping meds and I was open to it UNTIL the new prescription was sent to a pharmacy I don't even go to!! Why even bother handwriting in your pharmacy name and number and then they just send wherever they like and when asked they won't take responsibility! The reason this is soo upsetting is I don't need to look like a pharmacy shopper and get flagged by the DEA! Then the sleep study itself was Rude and a very upsetting experience! Finally , when you try and call to cancel they don't answer if return calls and charge you 100.00! I called 4 times to cancel and left voicemails as instructed and then I call and it immediately hangs up! I've reported all of this to Medicare in hopes it doesn't happen to anyone else!! read more

I didn't know what to expect going into this - my husband compared it to Chinese water torture (he did this at another location YEARS ago). The facility itself was clean, warm/inviting. The front desk clerk was pleasant, kind & efficient. Then, my technician, Rachel, was came into my room...she was nothing short of amazing! We have been to VSC three times to fine tune my husband's Aspire implant. We are always taken in right away and get professional care and consideration. I did a sleep study in Tucson at a place that had thin walls and uncomfortable beds, which no doubt contributed to my sleep disturbances. So this was my second sleep study. And by far... As in 100% better than the first one at a different facility. First of all the bedroom and bathroom felt like I was at a hotel! There was a TV in the room the bed had a memory foam mattress on it. The bathroom was tile and very nice. Everything was very clean. The room was very quiet I could not hear the people next to me. The tech James could not have been a nicer gentleman. Very respectful of my space. Very thoughtful and had a cup of coffee waiting for me in the morning when I woke up! As difficult as it is to try and sleep with 42 wires sticking out all over you... It was a pretty pleasant experience. I got at least five hours of sleep! So if you're at all nervous about doing a sleep study I would highly recommend this place! They even let me shower in the morning and get the goo out of my hair! And he actually read my chart and gave me skin sensitive tape so that I would not have reactions all over the place. Seriously... Very happy. Give James a raise! read more

Arrived on time to find doors locked and lights off. When staff finally arrived (to 4 patients standing in a dark business park), no paperwork had been prepared in advance--they didn't know who patients were or why we were there. The room I was in for my sleep study had gashes on walls and worn out furniture. I was worried! My tech was very nice--he was the one bright spot. My results indicated "severe" issues, but no one from sleep center called (my prescribing doctor also didn't bother to call). I had to chase down my results. I will go elsewhere for follow-up. read more

I have had a very mixed experience at this facility. Two of my family members have gone here and did nothing but rave about their doctors and the staff and facilities, as recent as this quarter. However, my experience as much more mixed. To start, most of the office staff was plesent and kind. Esp. the tech for the test equipment, Scott if memory serves. There was one receptionist who always seemed to be in a bad mood and was rude, which it could haven just been a bad month. The Dr. I got really didn't like to explain... anything. And it left me fumbling through the process to get my treatment. Each time I had to wait for info or a call back for scheduling, the people that handle this seemed very reluctant to explain what that were calling you for or taking an extra 5 seconds to explain what would happen after the absolute next step. The next time I have to do something like this I hope the staff takes the time to explain the processes better, especially the doctor. When I voice concern over costs, treatment, options, etc.. instead of pushing me off to the other parties he should have walked me through the steps. It's all about the money, honey. Had prior pre-surgery sleep study a few years ago. Did a home sleep study, and process was simple. This place....forget about it. Insisted home study no good ...... scheduled an overnight study at their office. 48 cancellation notice required. No reminder call or text. Lost track of date. Study was scheduled for a Tuesday night. Tried calling Friday....it was just after 5:00. No answer, no answering machine, despite the fact they indicate 24/7 hours on Yelp. Called first thing Monday morning to cancel and got billed $200 for cancellation. Cancelled because the more I thought about them refusing to do at-home study, the more doubtful I became. There was a problem logging into their portal and I sat on hold for 25 mins to get assistance which made me 5 mins late getting the forms filled out (still 25 mins early for the appointment). They refused to allow me to get my consult in today. There was no consideration for the fact that I would've been done well ahead of schedule if they actually answered their phone in a timely manner. Mary, the office manager was rude and didn't care that part of the blame was their inability to answer phones.. I told them to cancel it. Valley Sleep got me in fast for a consult last year, but then it took a total of 3 months to get the home sleep study and the follow up. I reinforced multiple times I do not have sleep apnea, but they didn't listen. They recommended a cpap through their Valley Sleep Therapy, who are very unpleasant and impossible to contact via phone or email. It took another 9 months to get scheduled, which was then another 2 months out. I went to Fairway Medical (amazing people, love Fairway!) instead and got my expensive apap, because not sleeping well is terrible and at that point I was ready to try anything. Only problem is, it didn't do anything for my sleep. Second opinion from an actual ENT surgeon who specializes in this - I do not nor have ever needed a cpap/apap and sleep apnea is not an issue for me. As it turns out, Valley Sleep Center falsified my home sleep study report and readings. I thought it seemed strange that my heart rate went from 48 to 212 bpm, when as an athlete I've never surpassed a heart rate of 190 bpm at my most extreme cardio intervals, nor has my heart rate ever gotten that low either. They said I slept majority (70%?) on my back, which I do not, and that I sleep some 7 hours, which I absolutely KNOW I did not because I watched the clock most of the night in my usual way waiting for sleep to come. They also lied about the size of my neck, which seems petty, but an average-sized woman with a 17 inch neck seems quite preposterous. I presented these facts to them and they decided to pay me to be quiet by sending me my sleep study copay of less than $20 back to me. Sorry guys, $17 isn't going to cover the long time of lost sleep and what is it, some thousands for the apap machine, and cost of the second opinion. These statements are a harsh reality many of us face when dealing with "sleep specialists" because cpap therapy is a goldmine for these "doctors". Buyer beware is really all I can say. Going in I was a bit worried, most reviews I read online of any sleep center, including this one, were usually not good. However, from the minute I walked in the door I found the Valley Sleep Center staff to be welcoming, professional and very knowledgeable! I was greeted right away by Scott. I was there to pick up a take home sleep test. He had it ready at his desk, and he very patiently went through the whole process of set up and answered all of my questions. He even assembled it as far as he possibly could without compromising the sanitation, so it was super easy for me to use. He also offered to look at my current APAP machine when I told him I thought it had a leak, even though I didn't get it from them! Very good service, Scott knows his stuff, and I felt very welcome and not rushed when I had a lot of questions. I would recommend them to anyone! read more

I've had multiple sleep disorders that had been diagnosed in the late 80's, after spending the night in a sleep,clinic, including sleep apnea. I hate wearing a CPAP, however, knowing it can save my life, I wear it regularly. My machine was way out of date, and after moving to Arizona from California a year ago, I knew I needed to get a new one, and at the very least I needed supplies. I spoke with Robert Manderville at Valley Sleep Center about the routine and how the process worked. He had someone from the billing office contact me for billing preauthorization. Since I have two medical insurance plans, there was some confusion about which insurance needed to be billed, and in what order. I requested help from a supervisor, and received a prompt callback from a supervisor in the billing department, Lucy. Lucy was very pleasant to deal with, and she understood my billing concerns, and contacted Dana, and insurance billing expert. I was extremely impressed with Lucy, Robert and Dana throughout the entire process. Their knowledge was top notch, and they provided excellent customer service. After receiving pre approval, I chose the Chandler sleep clinic location. Since my last sleep study was 25 years ago, I wasn't looking forward to it, since the previous stay was in a hospital type setting, and was in a small, uninviting room. I was very pleasantly surprised when I was led into a room that looked like it was a beautiful hotel room with a television, and a private bathroom with shower. Of course it's difficult to sleep with a bunch of leads attached to your body, but, that's they way they obtain the necessary info. So, the staff was extremely polite and professional. The tech explained the process to me, and advised me after sleeping for a couple hours without a CPAP, they would have me sleep with the CPAP for further testing. He showed me a variety of masks, then showed me the one that is the most popular with clients. I tried that mask since it was so much less invasive than what I currently wore. I loved that mask, (which is considered a nasal mask, but the whole face is open, allowing for the use of glasses. A week later I went for a follow up, and met with Debra. She was wonderful, and felt like someone I was friends with almost. She hooked me up with the mask I liked so much, and then set me up on automatic shipments for my supplies, freeing me up from having t keep track of when to call for them. Not only that, she called me a week later to confirm that I received my extra supplies. I had only received a partial delivery, so Debra followed up with the shipping department to ensure I received the entire delivery. So professional, such great customer care.... And extra kudo's to Robert, Lucy, Dana and Debra. read more
