Many places are a bit run down or operated by large corporate chains. My experience with the bigger chains is frequent and unpredictable rate increases. Then someone recommended Smart Storage which had just opened about a month ago. AMAZING! The place is brand new, really well designed, and I appreciate that access is NOT 24/7. Currently access is 6AM -11PM. I never loved the idea of people rooting around at all hours of the night. The units are immaculate and it appears that all of the infrastructure, cameras, and access doors are the latest tech. The best part of the entire experience is the owner Steve. This is a family owned and operated business. What a difference from dealing with an anonymous corporation. Steve helped me figure out the right storage solution for my needs and made the entire experience a joy. I look forward to coming here. I researched a few different storage spaces because initially I felt a little iffy about the whole thing. I'd heard horror stories about spaces being broken into and things being stolen, so I was nervous. Then I found Center Road Storage in Brunswick back in '05, and have been using that space on and off ever since with no problems. The space is huge for a decent price, the security is great (keypad code access to the gated facility), and I can get in and out quickly anytime. There's a dumpster on-site for when I've outgrown things or need to toss something, and the owner-operator, Mark, is a really nice guy. The only downside is, If you're late on your payment, rare an occasion as that may be, the fee is almost half the monthly rental price, so watch out! In terms of storing my things securely for a decent price in a safe place, however, Center Road gets 5.

On the day we had to move, she went out of her way to be helpful and kind to my husband (who was driving the uhaul) when we ran late and had other things come up. On a stressful, emotional day, she took care of us. And when we moved OUT of storage a month later when my mom went into Assisted Living, she replied with, "I'm always happy when tenants' plans are proceeding as hoped. I feel better about our business here when I know we're helping people move forward!" How nice is that? The facility is super clean, easy to get into, bright, our heated unit was in excellent condition, and I felt the fee was reasonable. But it was the PERSONAL TOUCH that made the experience worth it. It is away from densely populated areas, though close to Ravenna and Streetsboro and I-80, I-480. It is a very secure facility; high fences and sturdy separated buildings, secured gated entry after hours. Easy access to facility and your unit. Office is on the premises, so they also keep an eye on things. Everything here is clean and well maintained. The office sells locks and related items in case you need them and, as mentioned earlier, the owner and staff are happy to be helpful. It is hard to imagine how a storage facility could be better. I am confident my stuff is safe from both weather and people, so that why I keep it here :)

Uniform/Embroidery/silk screen: This place is miss named. Route 14 Storage is a great storage facility, but, the embroidery, silk screen, uniform aspect is unbelievably diverse. Uniforms, logos, t-shirts, jerseys, security uniforms, novelty items, hats, pens, etc. all available at this facility. A graphic designer is on staff to help you design anything you need from hats to pants to pens to whatever you need (even shoes?). I love this place and the people who staff it! They are kind, thoughtful, and will go the extra steps to get you squared away. The Temperature controlled units are great for bikes in wintertime!! The units that are not temperature controlled are great too in the warmer months. The whole facility is very clean and well kept and is very convenient to get to. I have used several different storage units over the years in different states as well as in Tallmadge,Ohio. I have never been as happy with any of them as I am with Redi-Storage in Stow Ohio. All of my stuff was chewed up and completely covered in mouse feces. It was absolutely the most disgusting thing I have ever encountered. I immediately called the office (It was a Sunday and they were closed.) and informed them of the situation, asking that someone please call me back as soon as possible. No one called. A week later, I went back to Redi Storage and went into the office. They didn't care at all about the condition of their units or all of my ruined belongings, and informed me that it wasn't their problem. Now I'm out the storage fees and the cost to replace all of my furniture. Steer clear of this dirty mouse hotel. You'd be better off throwing your stuff in a dumpster now.
